Nestled in the West End, Tempo Restaurant is one of Alexandria's best-kept secrets. This elegant, but unpretentious, neighborhood restaurant is where the locals dine. Tempo's menu displays a blend of northern Italian and French cuisine, featuring fresh se
This restaurant has some good points: good service, a very nice ambience with white table cloth covering and comfortable chairs, and parking on the premises. However, I go to restaurants for the food primarily. The scaloppini was only average with not so good a taste. The key lime pie did not have the crust or the filling of a good key lime pie. The coffee was small in quantity and not tasty. The chardonnay wine was not inexpensive and yet it did not have a good oakie flavor. My friends had similar comments about the food. I probably will not go here again.

With over six decades of combined hospitality experience, we're introducing a different kind of dining philosophy here at Osteria Marzano. Born in Calabria, Italy, Chef Marzano is bringing his inherited culinary flair and passion for cooking to Northern V
Excellent dinner service. The host and wait staff are very attentive. The menu is varied and they had a chefâs specials separare menu comprising of white truffle inspired dishes. Every plate we had was delicious. The carbonara very authentic, my wife had the bacon mac n cheese, very creamy and flavorful, my son had the surf and turf, duck breast and jumbo crab cake. Dessert the nuttella pizza is excellent. Drinks were on happy hour and thereâs a parking garage. Thank you! It's wonderful you so enjoyed your meal with us, and I'm glad our truffle dishes were your favorite. I appreciate your support on here, and hope to welcome you back soon! -Elena

Had mousaka for carry-out. Cones with small side salad and garlic bread for $17. Marinara sauce came on the side. It was okay. Bechamel sauce was not as creamy as I have had in other restaurants and the mousses just was not as tasty. My daughter, who usually eats everything, only ate half of hers. The slice of mousaka was not large, but after tasting it, it didnât matter.

Delightful dining experience ... great little informal Italian restaurant gem! Found their food to be exceptional - nice traditional menu options along with vegetarian offerings, daily and luncheon specials at reasonable prices (e.g. enjoyed their BBQ Rib lunch special). Will be going back with my family when they arrive (we are tourists visiting the DC Area). Net-net based on my experience highly recommend. Might want to check it out.

This is definitely not your typical restaurant one finds near tourist hotels. The food is not bland and barely adequate, as usual. The cuisine is warm and flavorful with a good number of choices. They quickly accommodated our party of 9 without reservations and the service was quick and professional. We will definitely make this one of our choices of eateries when we next return to this area.

I ate here two days in a row, the first day the service was slow and my fish was waaayyyy over cooked. Expensive for that kind of quality. The second day, service was excellent and a different fish dish was cooked perfectly. Seems that it depends on the staff. So, a 3 is right in the middle and thatâs what I would give this restaurant.

No real complaints about Lena's ... the food is good; the atmosphere is good; the staff attentive but not over-bearing. The pizza "flavors" are a bit nouveau for my palate ... why screw with a classic like Diavalo by putting kale on it. And, Korean BBQ -- like pineapple -- should never be on a pizza.

Stopped in for Happy Hour one night when we were visiting DC and staying in Alexandria. They have a fairly generous happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. We got the pepperoni pizza (which was excellent) and the wood fired meatballs, which was plenty of food for the two of us. They also have a decent draft beer selection which is discounted during happy hour too. Meatballs are served with slices of bread. Good, but would have been better had they been toasted. They have several seats at the bar as well as tables in the bar area and in the dining room. It's pleasant and comfortable. The service was very good. They have a bulletin board posted to the left of the bar which seemed oddly placed and sloppy to show their various licenses and permits. If they need to be displayed, why not put them behind some glass? The prices seem a little high (outside of happy hour) but given the location, it's pretty typical. Also, being right downtown parking can be difficult at times. The food is good and we would definitely visit again when we're back in Alexandria.

I order a pizza with sea food and I have been a Little bit disapointed by the taste which was very poor. It was looking good that's all. Sevice was efficient. I suggest they asked to their italian cousins to make better pizza.michfr132807,While we appreciate your time in reviewing our establishment, we would like to know where it was you actually dined, as we do not and have not offered pizza on our menu in the nearly 40 years that we have been open. If we did offer pizza we can assure you that we, unlike the restaurant you have confused us with, would not have left you unsatisfied. All the best,Landini Brothers Management and Staff

When you think Italian ...Think IL PORTO!! Old Town"s First Italian Restaurant in the Heart of Old Town's Historic Seaport District. Serving Fine Italian Cuisine since 1973. Let the Italian flag wave you into the restaurant and soon you'll discover why we
Il Porto is located in a beautiful old historic building, so it is not wheelchair or baby stroller accessible. The restaurant is on two floors, steep stairs to access 2nd floor and a few steps on main floor. The chicken Marsala was good, the primavera with angel hair pasta was average, lasagna was good. This is an adult restaurant and not young children or family friendly
