Just 10 minute over the city of Sondrio there is this nice place.Recently changed the managing family, but the style remain the same.Good traditional foods, homemade with all genuine ingredients,Some rooms are also available for good sleep in a renovated dependances near the main building.Gazebo outsids for summer.Good starting point for the Trekkers going to Meriggoo or Alpe Campei.Close during winter, better book because every time full.

Il passatore is one of the few restaurants in Sondrio which we found open in the evening. I had dinner with someone who is allergic to gluten. This wasn't a problem - we were just told we'd wait for some time because they had to change the water used for boiling. This meant that:1- they knew what an allergy is and what to do, even to avoid cross-contamination - professional.2- they were ready to run the "extra mile" for this - customer-oriented.3- they did it without fuss - gentle.Believe me: none of these three can be taken for granted. We had an excellent risotto with cheese, and I also had a delicious home-made chocolate dessert. The menu is quite short, but I found dishes for all tastes - and there is pizza too!Service was courteous, polite and with a smile. The person who was with me felt at ease, despite the allergy - again, something which, alas, doesn't happen all too often. The ambiance wasn't anything special - but the food was!So, yes, I can really recommend this restaurant!

We stopped in Sondrio to the fuel station and we saw this nice place. It's not an usual restaurant, looks more like an American Bar.The ambient is very casual and make you feel really confortable.Pizza was great and drinks even better. The price are cheap, we definitely appreciate the dinner and we'll sure came back next time we'll spend time in Bormio.Grazie vi riaspettiamo presto ...

The "1862 Ristorante della Posta" Offers an exquisite refined cuisine well complemented by a rich Wine List, to be enjoyed in the elegant recently renovated dining rooms. The "1862 Ristorante dell Posta" is open all year round, also to the non-residents.
We were three friends on vacation looking for something good and not too expensive for dinner. Food was excellent, and the service was even better!

You mush try the surprise menu, as many others restaurants in Valtellina should do : a tasting menu with small portions ! Excellent wine list, amazing desserts... Friendly service although should improve as the type or restaurant you expect to get a super professional service but you don't (wine was too hot when arrived, not served as it should, etc.)

Located in the heart of the city at the foot of the bell tower, Trattoria Cima 11 has been offering traditional local dishes in a simple and familiar atmosphere for the last fifty years. Its specialties are the most representative of Valtellina's cuisine:

My cousin and I stopped here for a work day lunch. We ordered off the Menu del giorno. It was 10 Euro. I had Zuppa d'orzo, Vitello tonnato and Carole all'olio. Now if you follow me you know I don't eat fish. If you read Italian you know Tonnato is Tuna Fish. I was confused by the use of vitello which usually implies beef, I thought it was small pieces of beef. No it was think cut tuna in a sauce. I ate it. It was that good. It didn't taste fishy nor did it smell fishy. Anyone who knows me knows the general rule, if you don't know what you are ordering don't, however if you order it, unless it makes you sick you eat it. In all circumstances you at least try it. I followed the rules, tried and and liked it. Something for an old dog. Enjoy

The atmosphere of this restaurant is extraordinary and magical. The gentle roar of a waterfall ( visible by a large window ) accompanies the excellent and well presented dishes. The food is really good and the staff is very professional and kind. The dining rooms are set in an old building thanks to a superfine restoration that mixes the ancient stone building tradition and the modern use of steel and glass. Excellent quality - price ratio. Highly recommended!
