a lovely short stroll to the back street....with amazing cooking.. try the baked eggplant enough for two...delicious flavors....we tried a vegetable stuffed sardine appetizer which had amazing flavor...the best appetizer we had was on our second visit and it was called:" Acciughe impanate con finocchi all' agro" which are anchovies breaded with fennel - this is a must try, amazing...note the spelling - be sure to order this appetizer, large enough to share as a primi. The pasta dishes are homemade, enough to share. for dessert we tried a fig tart which had a homemade fig and blackberry filling...the bread basket has the best breads, lovely assortment. Only problem was the tomato focaccia with olives, the pits (stones) were left inside the olives, dangerous to the tooth fillings, whoever made it forgot to remove olive pits. They serve the best rosso (red) wine - seemed to be all naturale, no sulfite...it was made in Albenga a short distance away...really excellent little bottles of this red wine. Lovely ambiance, be sure to look it up and reserve for dinner.

We have been to Viola nearly a dozen times since it opened and have always been delighted with the experience. In my last review, a year and a half ago, I praised the fact that their menu goes well beyond the traditional Ligurian specialties. The local dishes are prepared with finesse too. Today we put that view to the test, ordering oysters and King Crab. The oysters, fine specimens from either Normandy or Brittany, were the equal of those we have had in savvy Parisian restaurants-and at a fair price of 4 Euro per oyster. The Crabs, I believe from Norway, were superb, carefully prepared so that you could get all of the wonderful meat out simply with a fork. The wine list offers a thoughtful selection from most of the regions of Italy and a few representative ones from France. They also have a separate list of sparkling wines, including some very excellent Champagnes. It is a small restaurant. The proprietor makes you feel truly welcome. The kitchen crafts beautiful dishes. The prices are moderately high but perfectly consistent with the high quality of the ingredients and the preparation. One of the two or three best in town and worth a journey if you are not staying here.

this was a recommendation from Grand Hotel in Alassio and it was excellent. The spaghettata with lashings of excellent sea food which turned up baking hot in a large pan was wonderful as a starter and then followed by a delicious slow cooked rabbit. Service was very pleasant and the location over looking Alassio beautiful even in winter with the large windows. The choice of wines was also good. We got a taxi up even though we had our own car, mainly for the wine but the road up is narrow so even if you dont drink, you may want to take a taxi.

Locale presente dal 1994 sulla spiaggia di Alassio. Propone una cucina multietnica, dal pesce nostrano alla Paella, dalle carni da tutto il mondo al Messicano. Locale allegro, con musica dal vivo e spettacoli a tema. Rapporto qualita' prezzo ottimo, puliz
For years, even decades, we have been walking past this restaurant in the smug assumption that it was a tourist trap. The wide advertised selection: Tex-Mex, paella, pizza, seafood, spaghetteria, steaks, lots of photos of food have many of the warning signs. How can a restaurant do all these different types of food and do them well? But look closer, it is often filled and with more locals than tourists. Our mental tide turned when I read about the owner's campaign against the vindictive kind of TA reviews where people have said a lot of unkind things without the courtesy and fairness of bringing problems to the attention of the owners and giving them the opportunity to make them right. Clearly, nearly every one in the constantly challenging hospitality business wants to satisfy their customers. Why else would they earn a living in this demanding field? The greeting is sincere and cheerful. The menu is indeed expansive. We are not in a hurry to try the Tex-Mex offerings since we have access to the real deal at home. We opted for Argentine steaks and they were quite good. (We have spent some time in Argentina and appreciate the quality of its beef). Prices were fair. A mixed salad, desserts and Lavazza coffee were all well prepared and presented. The decor is a bit generic but not unpleasant. This has not all of a sudden become a favorite venue, but I have new respect for their hard work and decent offerings at fair and modest prices. We will be back to try their pizza and perhaps the Paella. Equally important, we are glad to have jettisoned one prejudice.

Chiedo come e se sia possibile indicare che siamo chiusi per rinnovo locali dal 28 gennaio al 28 febbraio grazie mille
The first visit was amazing - best cocktails and aperitif....we tried the Branzino....recipe par excellence...the fish was oven baked in a parchment paper, flavor was amazing. They have oven roasted potatoes, and all the complimentary aperitif breads were the best. Lovely tables perched all along the small main road...quiet and elegant setting. The second visit the aperitif was charged as 3 euro and was not complimentary with the cocktails...how does this change after a few days? Some days it is free with drinks, some days it is a charge. The places all around do not charge for the aperitif if ordering cocktails....so this does not seem right. I noticed confusion when paying the bill, they make mistakes at the cash register, and then quickly fix them. Our first visit the drinks were 7 euro and aperitif was free. (complimentary with drinks as do all the other neighboring places which have a better aperitif) The second visit the same cocktails were 8 euro at the cash register, where the cashier quickly corrected his error to make them 7 euro - on his own while I watched, but then he quickly added the 3 euro charge for the aperitif. Not a pleasant second visit. Review has been edited to note the second visit pricing problems. We were planning to visit again for the Branzino dinner, but now we will choose another place.

We finished our vacation in Italy with 3 nights stay at Agriturismo Garumba, perched in the hills above Alassio and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves staying at such a charming place. We chose to eat at the restaurant on the first evening and after such an authentic experience we ate there again on the last evening. The food is freshly prepared, typical to the region and plentiful. The farm produces a variety of local produce on a commercial basis from pesto to preserves and while we have stayed at other farms previously, the difference at Garumba is that the owners seem to have successful achieved that fine balance of truly authentic cuisine coupled with a personal and attentive restaurant experience. For those not staying at Garumba's accommodation, It is well worth the 20 minute drive from Alassio, to get away from the crowds and enjoy this genuine Ligurian experience.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is all beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat. The table is beautifully laid with lovely linen, cutlery and china. The service is impeccable. The Maitre D/sommelier is hugely knowledgeable about wine and does not suggest the most expensive but what pairs best with what you are eating. The location of the restaurant in Villa Della Pergola could not be better. The gardens are magnificent with a view of the sea. What more could anyone ask?

Devis and his sister (they run the show) were a pleasure to work with from start to finish while planning our wedding reception and day. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped above and beyond our expectations. we tried the menu in advance and selected our dishes and wines, all of the suggestions were great. Our wedding was catering for both Italians and an international crowd (UK,UAE, Spain, middle east, India and South Africa) all really enjoyed the food, drinks and party :) I highly recommend this venue. It was personal, friendly, elegant and naturally beautiful. Thank you Devis!!! It was perfect.

Located in a peaceful and sunny area just about 40 mt from the sea. A house that could fit together well, classical style and modern comforts. The Restaurant Lamberti, recented renovated, is in a minimalist style. The Restaurant offers a typical and tradi
Substance and artistry, this is a restaurant that consistently exemplifies Ligurian cuisine carried to its highest level. Every dish is presented with an ideal combination of premium ingredients, attractive plating and full flavor. The service is truly professional. The wine selection is deep and fairly priced. The dining room is elegant and comfortable. The menu changes with the seasons. Besides the predictably strong suit in fish and shellfish, the chef knows how to prepare meat and poultry dishes with exemplary skill. There are a number of fine establshments in town. This is where we take our friends who have the deepest passion for culinary excellence.

A small restaurant located in the middle of the historic center of Albenga. It has a large dehoor in the summer. Suitable for those who want to rediscover the flavors of the Ligurian cuisine of the past and to lovers of Gourmet pizza: Light and crunchy do
The place is simple and located in a nice square of the of the beautiful old town of albenga. We went for dinner and the restaurant was full. We booked in advance and were allocated a table at 5cm from the entrance door. Very unpleasant as each time some one enters, the wind hurts you. We were not yet served and a table in the centre of the restaurant became available. We asked to move and the answer was âno, we are fullâ. What?!? We booked as well and you are forcing us to stay in a freezy table...the food was ok but nothing extraordinary. But once you eat in uncomfortable situations and the attitude is so âLigurianâ...that does not matter. There are so many places around....
