Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Ajaccio. Ajaccio, Corsica's main city, is fun to visit at any time of year. But if you're a secret (or not-so-secret) Napoleon Bonaparte groupie, plan to be there on August 15 and join the celebration of the birthday of Ajaccio's most famous son. Casa Buonaparte, Napoleon's family home and birthplace, is worth a visit, as is the town cathedral. Or just enjoy the Corsican sun.

We were on a cruise that stopped here. Went looking for a highly rated Trip Advisor restaurant. Saw this restaurant and went in. We were not disappointed. It's near the port and near the water. Service is good. They don't let you share plates. We ordered risotto San Carlo (risotto with mushrooms and shrimp) it's AMAZING! And salad Assiette Italienne so delicious. Fresh bread.

We went to Le 20 Heures Vin after having seen the good reviews on TripAdvisor and have been going back there several times during our stay in Ajaccio. It is located in the old town and has great seating outside in a calm side street. They offer a list of great wines and their pizzas and appetizers (very generous amounts) are fabulous. The value for money is also excellent. We have been served by Elo who made our stay even better; super welcoming and accommodating, friendly and always with a smile and always available for good food and wine recommendations. 5* to Elo :) I can only recommend this place.

We came to the restaurant at 13.50 and, strangely enough, were not turned down. They stopped accepting new clients at exactly 14.00, but continued to serve properly and without hurry those who were already seated. The waiter was very prompt at offering us a table, a menu and drinks. We ordered pasta with salmon, which turned out to be a really good choice. The pasta was well-cooked, the sauce was tasty and there was enough of salmon. A piece of lemon was served, as well as cheese. For two pastas and a bottle of water we paid 38 euro. All in all, nothing exceptional, but a pretty decent place to eat in Ajaccio.

Here's a restaurant which does exactly what it says on the tin. Great pizza, good service, and all in a great location, few minutes walk from the harbour and the town beach.

We visited Casa Pasta on our first night and as a result chose to return for our final night in Corsica. The restaurant had a selection of reasonably priced home-cooked meals. The couple that own the restaurant were the happiest people weâd ever met and went above and beyond by providing us with a list of things to do and see during our stay. The 1l of rose wine for â¬8 went down very well! As did the limoncello du maison which was served after our meal and was the best limoncello weâd ever tasted, even after several trips to Italy!

Sensational and innovative pizzas combined with a prime dining area and really slick service justifies this venue top 10 ranking. Paid around â¬40 euros for 2 pizzas and 4 glasses of wine.As others reviewers have advised bookings seem essential on popular nights.
