Reviews on Italian food in Acireale, Province of Catania, Italy. Acireale [ˌatʃireˈaːle] (Sicilian: Jaciriali; locally shortened to Jaci or Aci) is a coastal city and comune in the north-east of the Metropolitan City of Catania, Sicily, southern Italy, at the foot of Mount Etna, on the coast facing the Ionian Sea. It is home to numerous churches, including the Neo-Gothic St. Peter's Basilica, St. Sebastian's Basilica in the Sicilian Baroque style, and the 17th century Acireale Cathedral, and a seminary, for the training of priests. Acireale is also noted for its art and paintings: the oldest academy in Sicily, the "Accademia dei Dafnici e degli Zelanti", is located here.

Four of us and one dog dropped in for dinner. What a great night! Food was excellent and we drank the local wine all night. Don't take our word for it .. live à little and enjoy the food. The entertaining owner is a side benefit.

We experienced this property, intrigued because in the TA ranking of pizzerias (not of all restaurants) in Acireale, currently it is at the first place, thanks to the average of the scores. Our expectations were probably much higher because of this background; but in my view our four pizzas don't justify the ranking. The service has been good (courteous, and also fast, probably because we showed up to an early hour for the local customs). Pizza with tuna, "Capricciosa", "Fattoressa", "Cuccagna" (ie, house pizza) were our orders. We found them decent, but just following the average quality of pizzas we usually eat, both in Acireale and elsewhere. The "bruschetta" that was served before the pizzas, was nice. The environment is not particularly scenic or romantic.

I visit the cafe everytime when I go to Sicily and it never lets me down. Try granita and fresh bun for breakfast.

Very interesting setting....we were lucky enough to eat outside in the old (Monastery) courtyard. Perfect star-lit evening situation!Food all presented well and extremely tasty....pasta particularly outstanding. Sword fish stuffed with cous cous also outstanding.....Service good. Staff spoke much better English than our Italian.....

The food here was fairly simple, typically Sicillian and very tasty. Despite the fact that we did not speak Italian and the waiter did not speak English, we managed to have a very good meal.We were made very welcome here. This is a great little restaurant and I would certainly go back again.Recommended!

Friendly service and absolutely amazing, fantastic food creations! In over a year of trying different Tavola calda places in Sicily this is my absolutely favorite. High quality ingredients with nice little twists to make a 'simple' snack a real experience for your taste buds. I just wanted to keep on trying and tasting new ones.Loved it and I am forcing my friends to take me there every time that I am back in Sicily. Would recommend it to every one!

American Style Bun and the Piadina Romagnola (tipical flat bread dish from the north of Italy, yes, one of the owners comes from Rimini). 10 different craft beers on tap each week and much more beer or whisky(also whiskey) to taste. Drop us a line on Face
Gastro-style pub with rock legend décor, wide selection of beers and cocktails, not overly priced, selection of panini, salads and first courses, incredibly friendly staff who gave a very personal, enthusiastic service. We immediately felt very welcome and they also spoke English, which is great for any tourists visiting Acireale.
