Picture four mums and ten hungry/hangry kids, after a long day in West Cork. Not knowing the area we asked a local who sent us here. From the outside it doesnt appeal, but we changed our mind when the food arrived. Delicious freshest fish ever. Chips to die for. Staff were very accommodating and moved tables so the entire party could sit together. Prices like I remember from ten years ago! If KC's in Douglas Cork can have a Bridgestone award then they need to visit Leslies! Four very happy American tourists with their six Irish friends. This is a gem and well worth a visit.

Good Things is a restaurant and cookery school run by Carmel Somers and based in Skibbereen. Good Things serves fresh, local, seasonal and organic food.
The room was cold and almost empty, due to being a bit off season. I can't fault the cooking though and the menu was interesting. The round table was too high for the chairs!

Stopped off whilst in the town centre. very impressed with the service, the sandwich was a good old fashioned 'door stop' & the coffee was excellent. Will be returning when next in the area. Highly recommended.

What a disaster! Three different meals which none of ate. This restaurant has absolutely no interest whatsoever in their customers. Two safe, a Male who spent his time on his phone and a foreign waitress who told me she'd ask the kitchen regarding a query I had but she never came back to me. The food was disgusting, cold veg, inedible chicken, unwashed potatoes with the skin left on them. Between the three of us, who had all ordered different dishes, not one of us could eat our meal. Shame on the chef, even if the meals had been free I'd still feel robbed. Avoid and head to the chopper, youll get miles better food!

As a regular visitor to the restaurant with my family I must say that the service and atmosphere has always been top class. The small staff team really work well together to put the customers at ease. The French waitress as previously reviewed has always gone above and beyond for my family. Always remembering my gluten intolerance and my sons less serious aversion to onions :p Whilst waiting for our order to be taken a few days ago I did overhear a group at a table of what my wife described the be a "bratty" teen who made a few comments aiming to belittle the waitress for the amusement of the group and what looked like his grandmother watching on. I saw the posture of our favourite waitress drop at this as she continued to take orders and requests. I have always taught my children to be respectful to others and receive respect in return. Our waitress still took our order and was a smiley and pleasant as usual despite being clearly shook by what had happened. I will be returning with my family and hope that if people cannot manner their children or grandchild properly that they would stay at home instead of spoiling the atmosphere for others. Great food and great service. Keep up the good work. Declan

The Kennedy Restaurant, situated in the West Cork Hotel, is the first address for eating out in Skibbereen; no wonder, it's a very elegant place, and the food really is first class. Some dishes may be a bit expensive, but you can also get something cheaper, like chicken wings or a nourishing fish soup. The roast beef is fantastic!Dear binapiraeus,Thank you for taking the time to review your recent dining experience with us & for the 5 star feedback! award winning cafe situated in the heart of Skibbereen town. serving breakfast & lunch using the best of West Cork produce and agreat selection of cakes & desserts all baked on site.
Had a few hours to kill recently in Skibbereen and decided to have lunch at Kalbos. I had eaten before at the art gallery place but it was my fist time at the cafe on north street. The place was thriving, with a lot of locals mixed in with some tourists. The service was very pleasant and friendly. I had the beef stir fry, amd it was top notch. You could taste the fresh vegetabgles and the meat was tender and tasty. I love these local businesses that excel at what they do and the world would be a better place if we had more of them and less of the large franchises. Well done Kalbos, I will be back.

The Church Restaurant is located in the heart of Skibbereen Town in West Cork, it was originally a Methodist Church from 1833 to 2003. Steeped in history and character with lovely stained glass windows and high wooden ceilings, The Church Restaurant is op
This was, by far, the best place we ate in Ireland (and we ate in lots of lovely places). This once Methodist chapel has been restored to the highest of standards and tries, were possible, to source it's food locally. We hadn't booked but we were lucky enough to get a table (no mean feat on a Friday evening). The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful. We choose of the fixed price dinner menu, I had the pork loin stuffed with black pudding, which was mouth wateringly tender, served with vegetables. My husband had the Malaysian chicken curry, which he throughly enjoyed, all washed down with a good bottle of Sauvingon Blanc. I had ice cream for pudding whilst my husband had a crumble, all washed down with a lovely pot of coffee. By this time we were very full and happy and the manager said he would order us a taxi to take us back to our accomadation. Sadly every taxi in Skibbereen seemed to be busy that night, but one of his waiting staff, who was going off duty, offered to drop us off. Now this really was above and beyond the call of duty. The kindness shown to us by all members of staff at this fantastic restuarant was second to none and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

Have eaten here on many occasions when in West Cork. Place is always buzzing albeit it is relatively small. Lovely selection of simple food cooked beautifully. Service was excellent as always. We ate hake goujons with lovely side salad and home made fries as well as roast chicken & ham with potatoes and veg selection. Always look forward to returning!
