Tucked into a small car-park a few kilometres west of Lennane on the south shore of Killary harbour - this a must visit for the best in Street Food using local produce prepared daily and cooked to order. A few outside picnic tables and chairs available with stunning views towards the mouth of Killary harbour make this a great place for a casual coffee/snack/lunch - if it rains, be prepared to eat in the car, but the views are still just as good.

Bar and restaurant located in Leenane hotel
I love this hotel, the staff, food, ambiance is just fantastic. We arrived on Sunday 30th June and as our room wasn't ready they upgraded us to a deluxe room. The whole stay was the most relaxing place, the food was unbelievable ( I am a chef, so hard to please), the service was great, we had David and he bent over backward every time to see if everything was ok for us. I couldn't highly recommend this hotel, Agnes and Conor were a pleasure to deal with also and deserve to be supported as nothing is too difficult for them and certainly deserve the support.I was delighted to hear that they are staying open until after Christmas so a return visit in November is on the cards. I have to mention Thomas behind the bar, was a pleasure to have someone so friendly and a great craic also. Also was delighted that the phone coverage wasnt great so as my Husband is left employed it gave me a much need break plus myself. It is so picturesque kilary harbor and the walk into the village only took about 10 mins. The bar that was featured in the film The Field was still the same as it was when they filmed it. The locals were lovely also and very friendly. Highly recommended!!!!

Stayed in a B and B for a few days so tried a few of the places to eat in Roundstone. I found the food in Vaughanâs to be good. I had the sea bass and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and being able to sit outside over looking the sea made the whole experience very enjoyable.
Joyceâs bar and assorted stores is located on a beautiful drive through amazing lakes and mountains. The bar serves morning tea with delicious scones freshly baked daily. Friendly staff and cosy decor.

As soon as you step in, on the front wall you can see an excellent newspaper's review about this bar that begins with something like: "In the middle of nowhere there is a bar..." etc. The review goes on with words of praise which I completely agree except for the the "middle of nowhere"... This is the middle of Ireland, (not exactly "nowhere"), very close to either Connemara Nat'nl park and Galway. Besides, the place is truly great as well as the food, fresh and tasty. Last but not least, something about the staff. I can say just one thing: my wife forgot her bag there with everything inside (I really mean everything: from the glasses to the plane tickets). Well they found it, kept it safe and gave us back when we returned after hours of anguish and distress. So long.

We dined here during our stay at Ballynahinch Castle. Outstanding pub food and service. Great local micro brews from all of western Ireland.

Dinner at the Owenmore restaurant and the sister pub are both outstanding. The formal restaurant was one of our highlight meals over a two-week trip. Everything was local where possible with the oysters coming from across the street of our waiterâs house. Every dish was outstanding including the beef tenderloin and the array of deserts and cheeses.
