We offer really good, wholesome food, at really affordable prices. We bake all our own bread, scones and our desserts are also handmade. All our meat is Irish and sourced locally. We serve food from 7.30am - 8.00pm daily.
My husband and I stayed here for a night as we were attending an event in Portlaoise. The location is ideal, in the town centre and close to everything. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and good powerful shower. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good too, and the fact that it was served until 11.30 was a real bonus after a late night! It was a bit noisy but it didn't bother me and my husband wore ear plugs so it wasn't an issue and they do warn it is a possibility on their website. We would definitely stay there again and o would recommend it.

Pretty average & unadventurous pub food . Not the most welcoming place Iâve ever been either . Give it a miss .

Iâve been to Lillyâs on a few occasions for food and also on a night out. I always find the staff so polite, helpful and attentive. It has a lovely quirky chic feel which suits any event from enjoying food from the delicious menu to quite pints to dancing the night away. Iâve also met the manager Kevin on my last visit, he was so welcoming and great at his job.I canât wait for my next visit

The Bay Tree in Portlaoise opened it doors in July 2018 it is a Café Restaurant serving amazing breakfast, Lunch and Desserts, we also specialise in Gluten Free Food.
We went to the bay tree to have lunch. The service was really nice and the food was good. Very big portions, so you donât end up hungry! They have lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well.

Basic table and chairs certainly nothing to look at decorations wise. In fact could do with a complete overhaul. It was 8.30am and only place open. Normally I would keep walking. Well if I had I would of missed one of the nicest full Irish I have had in a longtime. One guy working on his own and it was a busy spot even for that hour of the morning. Not sure how he does it but I would absolutely go back here and definitely recommend it. YUM

We stopped for afternoon tea here recently. It has always been a favourite stop over for me enroute to Athlone. Great choice of cakes and desserts too. But I couldn't believe the price increase! Practically all cake slices and desserts â¬5.15. Only one dessert lemon drizzle cake was less than that at â¬4.30. I had this. It was nice. My daughter opted for a rice crispie square which we assumed was cheaper only to find when we paid, that it was â¬5.15 too Definitely OTT. Considering the location and it being day time I think the prices are too high. Our server said this is because of the increase in VAT and the quality of the ingredients. It's a pity about the prices but a nice place to eat and food is good.

Treacy's is one of Ireland's oldest traditional pubs and loved local restaurant. It is a well known landmarks, famed for its quality food, golden straw thatched roof and unique character. The restaurant serves the best in home cooked food all day. Ingredi
Went into Treacyâs for breakfast last Sunday it was busy as usual but we didnât have to wait too long to be seated when we were seated it took them 30 seconds to get the menus quick service and a very pleasant waitress our kids ordered 2 rashers and 2 sausages and a ham sandwich and my wife ordered a scone and I ordered a full Irish it was at least a 45 minute wait for the breakfast. The scone was a bit dry and the ham sandwich came out toasted to the waitress was very apologetic about it though. When we went up to pay it was a bit pricey â¬2 for a small glass of apple juice not very good value although I had a nice experience and prefer it to CaToCa Emo.
