The Old Lodge Gastro pub in Shannon is the epitome of a traditional Irish bar both in décor and ambience and is very popular with both guests and locals alike. We serve gastro pub style food including delicious sandwiches, soup and dish of the day etc. fr
Ate at this restaurant tonight despite looking up on line and seeing special offers none were on the menu tonight....not a problem with us. We had cannelloni stuffed with cheese and spinach which was tasteless the sauce that it came in was lovely. My partner had the hake (which was tiny) came on a bed of tasteless puy lentils and topped with two tough camalari dont know what happened to the spinach veloute no sign on plate. Meal was bland and overpriced. Thought staff lovely and professional couldnt fault...wont be back.Dear shannon90Thank you for taking the time to review us. I was very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your recent meal with us here at the Old Lodge Gastro Pub. Lovely local cafe with freshly sourced ingredients and homemade baked goods. Benefits local meals on wheels program. My partner and I had a delicious breakfast. I had eggs, sausage, and brown bread. He had brioche French Toast and bacon. Forget about your hotel buffet; drive 4 km into the village for this gem!Thank you so much Dionysia!

Fabulous setting in the modern clubhouse of the golf club on the grounds of Dromoland Castle. Free parking to the right. Delicious food served in comfort. I had the club sandwich served with salad and chips â¬13.50. The apple frangipane â¬6.50 was a highlight. Pleasant efficient staff. The bathroom was clean and fresh although on the small side- possibly the renovations underway will extend. It was so pleasant to walk out the back into the wonderful walled garden.

It's hard to find a restaurant everyone can agree on when your away but the menu at Hunters lodge accommodates for everyone. Food was lovely and one of those meals is for a child 100% will be back

We were not expecting much given we thought it was all about the setting. To our very pleasant surprise, the food were great and so were the services. I would equate it to a one Michelin starred establishment with more traditional type of food and preparation. It was my wife's birthday. They brought out a very decent t(and complementary) cake that served our party of 6 with left over which they sent to our room in a very nice box ... with plates and silverware :-)The only minor negative was I lugged a jacket, tie and dress pants all the way from California just for this occasion. Turned out they were not required. Smart casual seemed the acceptable dress code. Should have called ahead :-(

We visited this gastropub on several occasions over s weekend trip. The menu is varied, local and very informative - their allergen information is far superior to anything I've seen in Ireland. The quality of food is excellent, with good portion sizes and value for money. However, the service is slow. The servers are well decked out in black aprons and white shirts but that's where the standards stop. You are showed to a table by a manager but that seems to be all he does. There seems to be no expeditor or leader in the pub. We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon and it seemed a bit chaotic. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Thank you Shane for taking the time to leave your feedback following your recent dining experience in Shannigans and thank you for your wonderful comments regarding our menu. I do apologise that you did not experience our normally high standards of service which many other reviews testify to. I do hope we have the chance to welcome you back again in the near future. Kind Regards, Nico Hernandez,General Manager

Went early one evening and were lucky enough to get a table. Went for the curry again and it was freshly cooked with a nice crunch to the vegetables. Portions are good with no room left for desert. Service was great, got asked a few times was everything ok which is great to see. Would highly recommend

Spent 3 nights here and were pampered the entire time. Staff took care of every request. Make sure you attend the tea service at least once. Gluten free options available and delicious. Food was terrific. The bar, with the fireplace going was wonderful. Rooms are large, comfortable and modern.
