Beautiful relaxed environment with attentive service with a lovely atmosphere. The food is well cooked using the best local ingredients and also cooked to order. Fabulous steaks but portions are a little on the large size so you had better skip lunch. Very well priced French wines. Great place to stay too.

We stopped in Listowel on our way to Ballybunnion and Tralee to take a break and found some excellent pastries and coffee (the Coffee Americana is almost uniformly good in Ireland), and relax for a few minutes in some of the cafe's outdoor seats. Service was good and friendly, and the pastries were so good, we purchased some more for the road.

The cafe in the Writers' Museum, Listowel, is excellent value, and serves fresh hot food and snacks. You'll get a friendly welcome and be encouraged to visit the museum and learn more about the lives of the local writers - but you can just have a pot of tea and some scones, soup, or a full meal. And it's great value too!

Popped in for dinner and was looking forward to the duo of fish on the specials menu - cod and salmon. Unfortunately it was so over cooked it was inedible. When I told the waitress she just said sorry and took my plate away! The steak burger in the other hand was fab so it seems I was unlucky in my Choice The staff were all very friendly so I wouldnât rule out trying it again but would be more careful or what I ordered and send it back if it wasnât right!

We ate here recently and it was very nice. The home made veg soup was a great start and then we got the beef (they have a slow burning oven, meat was cooking since 9pm the night before) it was the nicest beef I've ever had. Also the beef was sourced locally from the owners brother. Staff were very friendly too.

Had Sunday lunch here recently and it was quite outstanding. Extensive menu reasonably priced. The roast beef was the best I have tasted in years and plentiful. Although the restaurant was crowded, there was no delay.First class, friendly and helpful staff. Fully recommended in every way.

We eat here regularly and are rarely disappointed. The staff are most pleasant and helpful at all times with outstanding Chefs.. We recently tried the plaice which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by delicious vegetables. A perfect place (pardon the pun) for a night out. Somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for. Fully recommended.

I was over on holiday with my partner, a local licensee recommended Gapos. I had a chicken dish, my partner had king prawn risotto. The food was excellent, really well cooked and plenty of vegetables. This restaurant is very good, their prices are very reasonable. Well done Gapos.
