After a really long drive from London to Ireland we landed into Carrick on Shannon town and desperately needed food and coffee. It was only just after 7am. No where was open for some time, other than petrol stations. The Bush had great reviews and we popped in on the off chance they may accommodate us for breakfast. The coffee shop didn't open until 0830, the lovely lady at reception said it wasn't a problem and to head to the main restaurant for breakfast and pay at reception after. This was music to our ears, we were hungry and exhausted. Thank you so much for accommodating us. The breakfast was divine, the service was perfect and we would be back in a heartbeat any time we are in Carrick on Shannon. So many great options for different tastes too. Definitely use this establishment, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a fab lunch in Carrick-on-Shannon last week. We got a lovely window seat where we could observe all that was going on outside and over on the River Shannon. We all chose the chicken curry. I have to say it was delicious. Service was fast and curtious, we had lots to choose from but our choice was really delicious and very reasonably priced. I would recommend a visit. I will definely return again.

We tried this restaurant for the first time this week. The decor was nice and the staff were really friendly and polite. We ordered the speciality burger, the nachos and the kids had Spaghetti Bolognais. The kids enjoyed the Bolognaise but the other food was just OK. My advice to the chef would be to keep it simple. The meat in the burger itself was good but there was just too much else going on. A good burger brings our the taste of the burger not smothers it. The nachos again were too busy. Serve the nachos with the toppings on the side not heaped on top. On the plus side the table opposite ordered steaks which looked really good. Next time I will go for the steak!!!

Hotel Restaurant
We have eaten in this hotel for years and find the food great ,but we called in there on thursday and picked a table by the window for two, we were approached by a lady who said it was reserved and would you pick a different one which we did. The lady who served us could do with some lessons in customer relations we found her very unfriendly, not like the usual people we meet there.

Visited yesterday with my daughter for breakfast. It's a lovely place with comfortable seating and a huge array and variety of sandwiches, baps, paninis etc. We ordered the cream cheese and bacon bagels and a bacon toasted sandwich, Lovely cappuccino and mineral with it. Had the greatest pleasure in dropping by here on our weekend away to Carrick. Staff were very friendly and the ambience warm. We all opted for the stuffed Irish chicken leg with fondant potatoes and veg. This dish was packed with flavour and texture and all of us agreed we'd not eaten better food in a very long time. Perfectly balanced and piping hot, this lunch experience was amazing. Thank you.

Set in an old red brick building with pretty views to the river Shannon, St Georges Terrace Restaurant offers a gastronomic dining experience in a series of intimate dining rooms with friendly but attentive service
My parents and I went for Sunday lunch. I have never had such a pleasant experience from the initial phone call to leaving the restaurant. One of the questions asked when we made the booking was 'is this a special occasion?'. It wasn't but the suggestion was there that if it were it would be taken into account. The day of the booking they called me to confirm the booking but also to inform me the card machine wasn't working - a simple thing but better to know in advance and to bring cash. The food was absolutely delicious. At 36 euro for the set Sunday lunch menu it wasn't cheap but it was exceptional value for money. the service was impeccable - friendly, helpful but never intrusive. Clearing the table cloth of crumbs and dinner debris after the main course is such a simple thing to do but not something I have experienced before in an Irish restaurant. The timings between courses was spot on. Two hours passed by from start to finish which was perfect. The food was delicious. Perfect portion sizes, excellent local ingredients, modern cooking techniques and presentation. I had the octopus and nicoise salad - beautifully presented, wonderfully deconstructed presentation to come together in a perfect mouthful. The duck was perfect and the strawberry bavarois I cannot recommend highly enough - strawberry perfection.Additional coffees were not charged for, additional petit fours were offered. In addition to the floor manager checking in with us, the owner also did so. We are a fussy foody family but this was the most pleasant two hour food expereince we have ever had

Superb food in a relaxed atmosphere on the banks of the Shannon. The menu is Irish-Asian fusion with Malayan flavours and flourishes from the Malayan chef patron. The freshest local ingredients are used. I had the Pan-seared Scalllops to start followed by the Free Range Pork dish, both delicious. Book ahead for dinner.... you won't be disappointed.
