Reviews on Irish food in Armagh, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Armagh (/ɑːrˈmɑː/ ar-MAH; from Irish Ard Mhacha /ɑɾd̪ˠˈwaxə/, meaning 'Macha's height') is the county town of County Armagh and a city in Northern Ireland, as well as a civil parish. It is the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland – the seat of the Archbishops of Armagh, the Primates of All Ireland for both the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Ireland. In ancient times, nearby Navan Fort (Eamhain Mhacha) was a pagan ceremonial site and one of the great royal capitals of Gaelic Ireland. Today, Armagh is home to two cathedrals (both named after Saint Patrick) and the Armagh Observatory, and is known for its Georgian architecture.

fantastic food always clean service is great would highly recommend it and easy access from main portadown road plenty of parking spaces and supermarket right beside it
Armagh is not blessed with a myriad of night time sit in cafes. So JP,S Is an option, being a traditional chippy. You order at counter and pay and food is brought to table when ready. It's always busy and food is of consistent standard. Not Egon ronay but ok for a chippy. Staff are effecient and the wooden cubicles are kept clean.Burgers are really nice and rest of menu is just chippy stuff but fair and not greasy. I recommend it.
This is a lovely spot as you have fabulous views onto the golf course itself in Armagh. The restaurant itself it situated upstairs however, you can eat downstairs also where you have open views of the courses and watch golfers finishing off their round of golf. Fabulous. I visited this place several times and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Worth a visit.

Been a while since I visited. I always order fresh cod and I was not disappointed again. A large cod just cooked right and with right amount of batter. Friendly staff. Clean establishment. Well priced. What more do you need.

If you have a taste for disgusting food served by rude and unprofessional staff, this is the place for you. A remarkably unpleasant experience. The attitude of staff ruined our night and the good was terrible. Spend your hard-earned cash elsewhere.

The food is good but the manageress is something else. Our bill included an extra item so we asked for a corrected bill. On leaving, the manageress blocked our exit shouting and ranting and falsely saying that one of us had left a member of staff crying. Eventually she unblocked the doorway allowing us to leave while she yelled âGet out! Get outâ continuously. All efforts to calm her were rebuffed. Never have I been subject to nor witnessed verbal abuse by management to customers and in full view of other restaurant customers. The waitress responsible for our treatment later said she wasnât upset; she just didnât like the tone of voice used when a revised bill was requested. It is four weeks since I sent the [-] family a recorded letter of complaint asking for a response to the false accusation and the treatment we received. There has been no reply. Are good customer experiences and repeat business not important to them? Be aware when dining here, you could have an unexpected and upsetting experience like ours.

This is our 3rd visit, and this time I took my son and daughter. The food is very tasty and a good varied menu. My two are dairy intolerant and soy milk lattes were available. We shall certainly visit again, also good to know is that they are open on a Sunday which is so good when we have relatives visiting.

We went to Digby's for dinner last Sunday, and much like other new parents in the area, arrived just before 5pm to get in and out before the restaurant properly filled up with patrons. While it's always a gamble of how your tiny human will react when out and about, we were never made to feel like an inconvenience... (incidentally she slept through until after dessert. Result!)The welcome was warm, we got a drink at the bar before moving through to the restaurant. Food was quick without being rushed, very tasty and portion sizes large. The hubby and I both really enjoyed our meal and the sense of normality of being out and about. And as locals, we will return again soon, perhaps to try their early bird menu. Thanks for your kind words Janine. We look forward to welcoming you and the family back.
