Cosy Restaurant in the center of wagrain. We serve Fondue, Steaks, Burger, Spareribs and typical lokal food. Restaurant is only open in winter. in summer we serve half board for our hotel guests
Nice little family run business. We found it by accident when searching for a place to eat. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children, found a table without reservation. The food was good and so was the ambient. At the end we were a bit rushed as the place was full and others were coming, but overall a good place to eat

We ordered meat and vege burgers, burgers were average but the side dishes were great - crunchy fries, Coleslaw, small green salad. Although the waitress did not speak English well and the menu is only in German, we felt welcome with a lot of care about us and our wishes. Just train your German :)
WE stayed at this hotel for the first time, high up in the Austrian mountains. Outstanding quiet location offering an overwhelming view. Very friendly service.Only negative detail were one bulb not working and the use of warm and cold bulbs in the room.
Styrian with its unmistakable delicacies and culinary delights - traditional and genuine - is offered at Steirer.
I was hier together with my husband for an " easy break " in the afternoon and we decided to eat an ÃBERRASCHUNGSMENÃ: all the 3 dishes were awesome!! It was so tasty, delicious and good ornamented Sylvia ( the blond woman that served us ) as well as Manfred ( the cook and her husband) were very nice, friendly and polite!! I can say this was one of the best Restaurants I have ever eaten and we will definetly come back again!!! Thanks Silvia and Manfred for everything!!!

We stayed in the area en route from our holiday so just wanted good food for some tired and hungry holiday makers. We found the venue to be very nice (rather modern in fact) and the staff to be very friendly. We had pizzas which were very good as well as some schnitzel which was exceptionally good.Thank you, it was exactly what we needed!

We have read other reviews on this place and look, we had the exact same meal elsewhere the next night. It was definitely better at the other place but.... when we arrived very early around 6pm there were already 19 diners. When we left about 730 pm, they had already served 36 people, mostly cheerful locals. On a Monday night off peak. It must be doing something right.

We spent 4 days in Sankt Johann im Pongau and it was the first time we spent holidays in a hotel since out first daughter was born. We were concerned about the dinner since our little girl was messy (we paid for half board), but the staff was understanding and gave us a table in a comfortable area. The room was simple and clean, the view was not great since our window was in front of a rooftop, but we used it as a fridge! The only problem we had was on New Year's Eve, we could not join our friends because it snowed a lot and all the streets were closed, and when we came back to the hotel (at 8pm), we ask for some food and they told us that the kitchen was closed... We ate some biscuits we bought the day before...
The Zinnkruegl is a very comfortable chalet style spa hotel. Very convenient for the main ski gondola in Alpendorf and for ski hire shops. It has an excellent gourmet restaurant which serves breakfast afternoon tea and dinner with a different menu every evening. It also has an excellent bar with reasonably priced drinks and the staff and family owners are exceptionally friendly. Our visits here have always been very enjoyable.

In a rustic atmosphere offers fine regional and Mediterranean cuisine is celebrated at its best - and just this apparent contradiction makes the Oberforsthof Alm in the Alpine village so popular.
We have been coming here for many years. It had a great ambience and good traditional Austrian cuisine. Our most recent visit was very disappointing. The menu had been changed to trendier items that were typical of any'trendy' eating place elsewhere in Europe. Sorry Oberforsthof, but you have lost your identity and will lose customers who come to Austria for something unique to the culture. The ambience and service was still there as before but the food was no better than average. You have lost your heritage. We do not plan to return.

Vitus Winkler the culinary director of Vitus Cooking and co-owner of the Sonnhof pampers his guests with creativity and playful combinations of organic delicacies. Outstanding dishes with or without wine pairing and excellent view of the snowy mountains. Own wine cellar filled with the very best of Austria from Bründlmayer to Gesellmann, Ott, Poeckl, Sabathi, Tschida, Vereinte Winzer Horitschon, Kracher etc. Newly built and renovated ambience in modern Alpine style. We loved the warm design and decorations as well as Vitus' skilled team. What a refugium for sophisticated people. Chapeau for 3 Hauben Gault Millau.
