Restaurant Ph. Schneider offers refined French cuisine with a regional and international touches. The offer changes with the seasons (asparagus in spring, white truffle of Alba in autumn, venison in winter). Our wine menu covers all of France and proposes

The mansion of the spice traders was originally built in 1450. Besides the picturesque restaurant it locates three small banquet rooms on the first floor and the medieval guild hall on the second floor. In December 2014 during the OSCE conference in Basel
We had a friends meeting on a Friday evening and we decided to have dinner here, by booking a table. An impressive historical building with a cozy atmosphere. Loved the decor, the details and the food. Our overall experience here was a great one, except at the end when because of technical issues with the restaurant's POS, our cards didn't work and one of the waiters suggested we should go nearby and withdraw cash. I find this approach completely unacceptable and unprofessional, given it was not a issue depending on us and the bill was about several hundreds francs . Of course, afterwards our cards were working and it was confirmed it was their issue and not ours as clients. Keep up the good work though.

Came here for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning with our 2 little girls. Buffet type. You pay according to the weight of your plate (43chf/kilo). Itâs not cheap. But itâs Switzerland. We were a bit surprised by the âlackâ of variety on offer to be honest... a lot of savoury, salads, vegetarian dishes, breads, etc which is fine and everything we tasted was quite tasty. But it was lacking sweets and the usual foods you would expect at a European breakfast/brunch - ie. eggs. And you have to pay more (of course) for any sweet pastries.... This aside, everything is fresh, tasty, and itâs worth a try!Cute little kids area - a few toys, books and colouring pencils.

In the centre of lively "Kleinbasel", one of the hotspots of the city, you'll find our restaurant, located in one of the oldest buildings of Bale, dating back to the 14th century. A terrace provides a lovely view over the river Rhine where you can see the
We reserved a table for yesterday evening for the first time and really enjoyed our visit. Lovely, friendly restaurant on the banks of the Rhine serving really delicious food. Service was especially good and weâre looking forward to a return visit on a sunny evening to sit outside.

The concierge of our hotel recommended Volkshaus when we told him we were looking for authentic regional cuisine and he hit it out of the park! Wonderful dining experience in a beautiful brasserie setting offering courtyard outdoor option. We chose to dine indoors because it was slightly chilly. Our server was phenomenal and guided us perfectly in our meal and wine selections. I consider the prices moderate for dinner, about 100 Swiss francs per person if you include wine. Great dinner. Dear Volkshaus Guestwow, what an excellent feedback and we are so happy about it!Thank you so much and hope to welcome you soon back. With pleasure I will share your comment with by team. In the very heart of the former Warteck Brewery, 2nd Floor, we invite you to creative cuisine, fine natural wines and hospitality. We maintain a pleasant relaxed atmosphere with a kitchen range influenced by french to asian cuisine and VEGAN cooking. Visi
We booked here from the UK having read the FB reviews as we were in Basel on holiday, my wife's a veggie and it was her birthday.Having read it was a little tricky to find, we took a picture of the building with us which helped. They have put up little yellow arrows to get you heading in the right direction once you've found the building. We were a group of seven and all of us each enjoyed the meal very much. That's both veggies and meat eaters.Setting being in the old brewery was a little industrial but that along with excellent service added to the charm. They also made a bit of a fuss for the birthday girl with a large indoor firework style candle.Mains should have been accompanied by soup or salad. These weren't offered but to be fair we didn't ask for them.If it wasn't thousands of miles away we'd be back but if in Basel again we definitely will be.Swiss food is far from cheap especially here but worth it.Oh it's also wheelchair accessible with a disabled loo too.Thank you very very much for your lovely review. We appreciate you! Kind regards, Cantina Don Camillo

The restaurant Atelier underlines the art and gallery orientation of the cultural guesthouse «Der Teufelhof Basel». Being the French word for an artistâs workshop, an atelier is the workplace of a creative person. Our guests staying in the restaurant Atel
I just love eating here The menu has always something interesting for me. I look for regional food and meat. I always get good help, what kind of wine to choose. Very friendly staff - I feel very welcome.

In the Brasserie Les Trois Rois we serve you with Swiss and French brasserie specialties, with ingredients fresh from the market, which bear testimony to the richness of the regional produce. The richly varied and colourful menu bears witness to the consi
Dinner at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois provided some challenges with the service. After seating us and providing menus and the extensive wine list, I indicated to the maître d' that we wanted to choose the wine and have a glass before ordering the food. This message seemed hard to get across, since he appeared at least three times asking us to order food without any sign of the wine. We persisted. It took quite some time for the wine to arrive and then we ordered from the menus. The waiter that was assigned to us spoke no English whatsoever, so asking for some explanation from the menus proved difficult. While we believe that the waiter thought he was providing good service, it was quite the opposite; he hovered around the table all night. As soon as we took a sip of wine, he refilled the glasses with another sip. At least twelve times! As soon as a plate was finished, it was whisked away. Perhaps the kitchen had run out of crockery? We felt like asking him if would like to pull up a chair and join us rather than hovering over our shoulders all night. This was the closest to an intrusion of privacy we have ever experienced in a restaurant (despite that fact he spoke no English). No peace, no privacy. It totally spoiled the evening. Shades of Fawlty Towers. The food was very good â the veal with kidneys and vegetables was delicious. At least they had a good chef. Pity about the service. And the restaurant was full!Dear GuestThank you for your personal review about your visit at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois during the fair Art Basel, our most busiest time in the year.We sincerely regret that we were unable to meet your expectations and that you were not entirely satisfied with the service provided. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences and be assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problems internally. We hope you will give us the opportunity to convince you our usual professional service. I live in New York City and letâs just start by saying Iâm a food snob. I hate playing high prices for a poor meal. I had such hopes for Ufer7. It got great reviews on this site. Ufer7 sits right on the Rhine River in Basel. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. The terrace was hopping. The inside of the space is stucco with wood tables and bare decorative bulbs. I little jarring for my taste. The menu lists multiple small items to share on a platter. We choose two to start with. Falafel and a mushroom soup option. The menu was in Swiss German so it was a little tricky. The top of the menu says food should be pleasing to the eye then the tongue. The food looked great but it all tasted like sandpaper. The falafel was dry and tasteless and I could not discern a mushroom taste in the soup. We shared a fresh fish plate which was composed of shrimp with the heads on, red rice, bok choy and salmon. All very boring. The meal was followed by two slices of carrot cake that I could swear came out of the freeze. You know that sort of wet dense freezer burn taste. Either way I took one bite and decided it was not worth the calories! What were the good points? The staff, they were lovely and helpful. I was a little surprised when the bill came to 142 Franks for 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers a dessert and a tea. Not way out for Swiss restaurants but when I gave the waitress 150 F she just walked away with the change. As an American I would have tipped but assuming you should just take a tip is a little off putting. Iâm hoping the chef was sick that night and they will be on their game in the future otherwise definitely not worth it except for drinks on the terrace.
