Came here for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning with our 2 little girls. Buffet type. You pay according to the weight of your plate (43chf/kilo). Itâs not cheap. But itâs Switzerland. We were a bit surprised by the âlackâ of variety on offer to be honest... a lot of savoury, salads, vegetarian dishes, breads, etc which is fine and everything we tasted was quite tasty. But it was lacking sweets and the usual foods you would expect at a European breakfast/brunch - ie. eggs. And you have to pay more (of course) for any sweet pastries.... This aside, everything is fresh, tasty, and itâs worth a try!Cute little kids area - a few toys, books and colouring pencils.

We reserved a table for yesterday evening for the first time and really enjoyed our visit. Lovely, friendly restaurant on the banks of the Rhine serving really delicious food. Service was especially good and weâre looking forward to a return visit on a sunny evening to sit outside.

We went there on purpose to have a Business Lunch Menu. It was excellent! The price is really justified (less than 40 Euros for three courses). The dishes are best cuisine and the kitchen is flexible enough to change the main course in its menu (if you do not like fish for example). We assume the dinner menu is of the same quality, plays in the same category and the price is reasonable for sure. We would recommend this restaurant. The ambiance outside is extra, you are sitting in the middle of a really nice garden. Inside the restaurant is showing its age (90's) but is still nice if the food is good. The service was well done, nothing to complain at all.

Came by for a weekday lunch. We had a group of 4 and the consensus was that the food was fairly good but not great. Had the potato soup (apparently house speciality), flammekuchen, their daily special and the white asparagus specials that all restaurants in the region serve this time of year. Service was very good and we liked the general ambience of the place. Prices were reasonable.

The concierge of our hotel recommended Volkshaus when we told him we were looking for authentic regional cuisine and he hit it out of the park! Wonderful dining experience in a beautiful brasserie setting offering courtyard outdoor option. We chose to dine indoors because it was slightly chilly. Our server was phenomenal and guided us perfectly in our meal and wine selections. I consider the prices moderate for dinner, about 100 Swiss francs per person if you include wine. Great dinner. Dear Volkshaus Guestwow, what an excellent feedback and we are so happy about it!Thank you so much and hope to welcome you soon back. With pleasure I will share your comment with by team. In the Brasserie Les Trois Rois we serve you with Swiss and French brasserie specialties, with ingredients fresh from the market, which bear testimony to the richness of the regional produce. The richly varied and colourful menu bears witness to the consi
Dinner at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois provided some challenges with the service. After seating us and providing menus and the extensive wine list, I indicated to the maître d' that we wanted to choose the wine and have a glass before ordering the food. This message seemed hard to get across, since he appeared at least three times asking us to order food without any sign of the wine. We persisted. It took quite some time for the wine to arrive and then we ordered from the menus. The waiter that was assigned to us spoke no English whatsoever, so asking for some explanation from the menus proved difficult. While we believe that the waiter thought he was providing good service, it was quite the opposite; he hovered around the table all night. As soon as we took a sip of wine, he refilled the glasses with another sip. At least twelve times! As soon as a plate was finished, it was whisked away. Perhaps the kitchen had run out of crockery? We felt like asking him if would like to pull up a chair and join us rather than hovering over our shoulders all night. This was the closest to an intrusion of privacy we have ever experienced in a restaurant (despite that fact he spoke no English). No peace, no privacy. It totally spoiled the evening. Shades of Fawlty Towers. The food was very good â the veal with kidneys and vegetables was delicious. At least they had a good chef. Pity about the service. And the restaurant was full!Dear GuestThank you for your personal review about your visit at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois during the fair Art Basel, our most busiest time in the year.We sincerely regret that we were unable to meet your expectations and that you were not entirely satisfied with the service provided. We booked here from the UK having read the FB reviews as we were in Basel on holiday, my wife's a veggie and it was her birthday.Having read it was a little tricky to find, we took a picture of the building with us which helped. They have put up little yellow arrows to get you heading in the right direction once you've found the building. We were a group of seven and all of us each enjoyed the meal very much. That's both veggies and meat eaters.Setting being in the old brewery was a little industrial but that along with excellent service added to the charm. They also made a bit of a fuss for the birthday girl with a large indoor firework style candle.Mains should have been accompanied by soup or salad. These weren't offered but to be fair we didn't ask for them.If it wasn't thousands of miles away we'd be back but if in Basel again we definitely will be.Swiss food is far from cheap especially here but worth it.Oh it's also wheelchair accessible with a disabled loo too.Thank you very very much for your lovely review. We appreciate you! Kind regards, Cantina Don Camillo

I live in New York City and letâs just start by saying Iâm a food snob. I hate playing high prices for a poor meal. I had such hopes for Ufer7. It got great reviews on this site. Ufer7 sits right on the Rhine River in Basel. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. The terrace was hopping. The inside of the space is stucco with wood tables and bare decorative bulbs. I little jarring for my taste. The menu lists multiple small items to share on a platter. We choose two to start with. Falafel and a mushroom soup option. The menu was in Swiss German so it was a little tricky. The top of the menu says food should be pleasing to the eye then the tongue. The food looked great but it all tasted like sandpaper. The falafel was dry and tasteless and I could not discern a mushroom taste in the soup. We shared a fresh fish plate which was composed of shrimp with the heads on, red rice, bok choy and salmon. All very boring. The meal was followed by two slices of carrot cake that I could swear came out of the freeze. You know that sort of wet dense freezer burn taste. Either way I took one bite and decided it was not worth the calories! What were the good points? The staff, they were lovely and helpful. I was a little surprised when the bill came to 142 Franks for 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers a dessert and a tea. Not way out for Swiss restaurants but when I gave the waitress 150 F she just walked away with the change. As an American I would have tipped but assuming you should just take a tip is a little off putting. Iâm hoping the chef was sick that night and they will be on their game in the future otherwise definitely not worth it except for drinks on the terrace.
