Friends recommended this hotel/restaurant to us. I cannot review the hotel as I did not stay there but I plan to do that if I ever return to Ascona. The hotel/restaurant is located a bit to the south of Ascona, overlooking Lago Maggiore. The restaurant has lovely seating possibilities to overlook the lake. Excellent service, wonderful food. The also have an excellent patisserie which we tried the next day (no cakes were left when we dined there, it seems that you need to come early to get some cakes). Starters were coquille st. jacque. We had a wonderful lake fish fillets-de-perche as its called in French, with veggies and any other sides you would like to order including the salad bar. The desert was a dream, I wish I knew what the cream was made of. The menu was SF.60 per person and drinks (4 water bottles, one espresso and wine added another SF. 64 all together 4 people 304 SF. It would be wise to book in advance both for lunch and dinner.
Two brothers taking over the panorama hotel Elisabetta and ristorante Al Braciere as fourth generation. The cuisine it's a French-Italian fusion with spices and parfumes from all over the world. The restaurant has an incredible view on the lake maggiore.
We just visited this restaurant for dinner and I have to mention that we were surprised since we arrived. The terrace has an amazing view of the âlago maggioreâ where you can appreciate the mountains, lake and the island of Brissago. The menu offers a great variety of appetizers, main course and desserts; they also have a special setup menu. We had the beef tartar, cold cucumber soup, the salmon fillet, blackberry risotto and for desserts we asked one of each as we love sweets... every single plate is presented on a very fresh and elegant way and the food is just amazing, you can feel all the flavors of every ingredient creating a great gourmet experience. The wines menu includes great options from Switzerland, Italy, Chile and some more... they also serve cocktails and the best coffee. This is a place that we truly recommend and will come back for sure in our next visit to Switzerland.I may also mention that the service is impeccable, very kind and attentive staff that makes you feel very welcome and gives you very good recommendations before your order and doing their best to enhance your dinning experience. Special thanks to Christian and Luca that run this place!

Great plus the restaurant is open all day. Many places close between 2-6pm. The food was just OK, dry meat, not fresh tomatoes, salad not really crispy. Would recommend for a quick lunch only.

Cozy and beautiful atmosphere, friendly service and very good food with an original touch. Coffee and drinks are also very good. And considering the quality and the nice, relaxing setting, in Switzerland you don't expect such fair prices. Two thumbs up, but beware of the tartare if you don't like chese: it has Parmesan in it.

The reception and service is very amicable... and the venue warm...And SOME of the tastes were delightful, including the taster, the ravioli and the asparagus soup... Unfortunately, my tagliolino was totally bland... Way too much variation in the quite limited menu...Many thanks for your feedback to our dishes. We would be delighted to serve you again soon. What do you mean with too much variation and limited menu? Would be love to have some more feedback. Anyway, our menu changes from season to season and I'm sure to match your criterias with our improved menu the next time!

The staff were really friendly and efficient. I ordered the schnitzel with french fries so nothing to boast about but the taste was ok. My partner ordered the horse steak and he said it was nice. The atmosphere was relaxing but buzzing. Enjoyable experience

Familiar yet surprising: the Hide & Seek restaurant in Ascona transforms local and seasonal cuisine into contemporary dishes with a modern flair. Sometimes simple, sometimes playful and sometimes inspired by Ayurvedic practices. Whether itâs for breakfast
I am probably being a little unfair with the above rating which should be good. However when you are presented with a menu without any pasta / risotto dishes in Tessin something is wrong.!! The menu itself is somewhat limited and the portions are somewhat on the small side. The food is good but unexciting and if we had decided to eat here again on the next evening we would have struggled to select dishes which we really wanted to eat. The desserts were nothing to write home about either.!!The service is good and the staff are friendly but the dining room needs brightening up and a rethink is also required as far as the menu is concerned. Safe but a little boring.!!

Fine dining, aroma cuisine, multi-award winning: so far, so Ecco. Executive Chef Rolf Fliegauf and his team have turned Ecco Ascona into one of the finest gourmet restaurants in Ascona. But the menu isnât the only marvel here, the location and service are
Unable to walk to the town we had all our meals for 4 days at the Ascona Hotel restaurant. Every meal was just perfect. Nothing "strange" as on some of our trips. Service perfectly fine.

Grotto la Risata is a typical swiss italian grotto, you will be able to find it in the swiss telephone directory and probably in the tourist guide. The new owners are Simon and Jacky.
Weâve been to Grotto La Risata to taste the typical dishes of the region. Couldnât be more satisfied!! The entire experience was stunning from the moment we stepped in. Perfect location, wonderful outside terrace, good ambience and cheerful owner. Average prices, surely worth it. Definitely recommended!!
