Was staying at the Mercure hotel in the same building. My experience of hotel restaurants is sometimes mixed. This one was really great. Great quality food and excellent services. Not too expensive either. I ate with three other colleagues, we all had different things off the menu and they are all excellent. I would recommend even if you weren't staying at the hotel.

As another reviewer pointed out, the food is a cut above average and the service a cut below. We have eaten in other restaurants in Beilingries and found them a better value. Still, we recommend the Fuchsbraü.

An exzellent stylish restaurant in Regensburg, situated in a not so scenic part of the city - still, a very attractive and extremly stylish furnished restaurant having the chef personally working on the grill in the middle of the restaurant.Service stuff seems most if the time pretty challenged with nearly every situation - not very professional, sometimes not even polite (the chef's spouse is the exception!).Still, most of the evenings I spent there represented a great dinner and most of the time a great night - a recommendation for a stylish (order steak!) dinner in Regensburg.

Provato per la prima volta durante un viaggio di lavoro, ambiente carino e cibo molto buono; ho provato una tartare di tonno con buttata e dei tortelli buttata e gamberi, direi veramente buoni!

This is a known local restaurant with good prices and a variety of food choices for your appetite. The food was good quality and a tasted great. The wait staff was attentive and it was comfortable. They have an English language menu if wanted. The Sauerbraten is recommendable! The salads are tasty. We also enjoyed the Gulaschsuppe as a first course.Nice place to go to enjoy German food like the locals do. And it was not too pricey, I think.

Hearty meals: Every day we offer you a unique vegan menu which includes the warm cooked meal of the day and a salad. Our understanding of vegan cuisine is not the mere substitution of meat with tofu or seitan. Rather, we want to develop a vegetable cuisin
Taracafé Regensburg - I absolutely love it! Relaxed atmosphere with genuinely friendly service and delicious, wholesome, organic food! All vegan with many gluten free options, even the wonderful cakes! I went there for breakfast, lunch, and teatime and can wholeheartedly recommend this café any time of the day.Thereâs a beautiful, fairly large yoga studio attached in the back. No wonder there are good vibes all over the place!Picture & text credit: vegansouladventure

I travelled across to Ingolstadt with two work colleagues for a business meeting, we arrived on Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday morning meeting. Our business host had recommended Schanzer Rutschn as a traditional Bavarian venue serving trad food and good beer - she wasn't wrong! We all opted for the pork dishes in various guises and all thoroughly enjoyed the variety of well cooked food which was duly served. The pork was excellent, judging by both the colour of the meat and the flavour I would say the pork was outdoor reared, lovely dark meat with a delicious rich flavour and lovely tender, not fatty, consistency. My colleagues had the Chef's special and the pork cooked in beer, both said their meals were fab, portions huge and the most enormous dumpling served with the meals, which also come with a braised, pickled cabbage side. I had the shoulder of pork again with the dumpling Boulder and a side of cabbage salad. Great crisp cackling and a delicious sauce...and what a gigantic portion! We were offered side salads as an up-sell which we all accepted - don't, you'll never manage it, all three salads returned untouched. The staff are happy to box anything you can't manage, as the portions are sufficient for a small family this is sensible though not practical if you're staying in a hotel.Weiss bier and wine selection excellent, if you sample enough of it you can have a go on the giant wooden slide before you go!Highly recommended...

Little Restaurant near the Danube (Eiserner Steg) with some seats outside. The prices for dinner are about 5,50 until 11,50 Euros. The kitchen ist open from 18.00 Until 23.00.
Awesome, healthy eating. Quick and very affordable, nice cosy place, good wine selection. One if my favourite places in Regensburg.

Since my latest job at a car manufacturer brought me from the states to the quiet little town of Ingolstadt right in the heart of Bavaria, I've pretty much went to every restaurant this town has to offer and I've never bothered to write a review about any of them. Not because I didn't like the food, but because nothing ever stood out to me in particular. Look no further, we have found a place.I've discovered the Mensa accidentally while walking through the city center looking for a place to have lunch. The location is very low-key and is situated on the side of the "Canisiuskonvikt", a church funded living institution for students. Inside the vaults of the old structure, Chef de Cuisine "Manni" and his charming staff cook up some lovely treats that have young and old excited. The menu is filled with german classics like Schnitzel and Currywurst, but also has something in stock the adventurers with dishes never even heard of before, like the "Indianer-Kartoffel-Pfanne" (something like Native American Potato Bowl). For his creations Manni uses only locally sourced ingredients also and offers a delicious salad bar while changing his menu every. day. of. the. week. (!)The interior is not very comfortable (then again this seems to be a trend with popular restaurants these days) but, just like the staff, is very authentic and gives the whole place a really traditional, down south vibe. Most restaurants in this city try to be something they're not and that is what's most refreshing about "Mensa" - the honesty. What you see is what you get and what you get is goddamn delicious. Oh and have I mentioned that this place is dirt cheap as well? Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't take reservations and is only open for lunch during the week, but I've always managed to secure a table. There is no service at the tables which means you have to carry your food to and from the table to the cleaning bin yourself. Such a refreshing twist. At the moment, the place has yet only been discovered by the local culinary scene, but I have no doubt that the public will catch on fast. If you're looking for cheap, but very sophisticated bavarian cooking that is sure to make a memorable impact, I encourage you to pay Manni a visit.
