We had sooo much fun here! Me and my girls had e few drinks and some cheese dishes here and we were treated so friendly.Food and wine were good and service as well! Weâd definitely recommend this place.

Tijdens de Amusetour in Alkmaar 2019 werden we met zijn zessen direct hup naar boven gestuurd waar het al druk en warm was. Als amuse kregen we een mini burger met pulled pork geserveerd. Ke kan je afvragen of dit nog wel onder de naam amuse kan. Het had ook een hap van McDonalds kunnen zijn. Iets meer creativiteit van de chef had toch wel gekund. Er werd wel een heel goede merlot geserveerd.

Great access fir wheelchairs unlike de Buren. Seems that the idea here is to share with others but it was quiet quiet on a Thursday. Very helpful and friendly staff, good food choices on the menu, and what we ordered was very tasty, nicely presented and moderately priced. Only been open this year, wish it a successful future.

Ohhhh I looooove this place! What a gorgeous designed restaurant and hotel! They recently moved and wow they have done a great job! Beautiful rooms, very comfortable and the absolute best location one can find. Very good value for money. Right next to the canal (open for tour if you can bend due to low bridges), and just a few steps to the Waagplein (main square with famous Cheese Market in April-September) and right between shopping streets de Laat, Fnidsen, de Lange Straat, Magdalenastraat, etc. From the starters to the dessert and cocktails, all fastastic looking & tasting! Not expensive at all I find, considering the quality standards even more! Dishes start from â¬8-17.50, lunch to dinner, and of course delicious, original breakfast! You can sit inside and outside, all good!

After nice sunny day we decided to sit down on the Market Square and ejoy dinner. We were quickly served, the waiter spoke fluent English and his food suggestions were good. The atmosphere of evening combined with looking over canals and the tower of City Hall was the point over "i" to complete our stay in Alkmaar. I am missing this place...We are so glad that we were able to complete your visit to Alkmaar. Thank you!

I've been to Heeren van Sonoy 3 different times, and the evening has always been delightful. The owner is very friendly, speaks Dutch, English and German, and welcomes everyone personally to the restaurant. The menu and specials are seasonal and delicious, from Corn Chowder in the winter to Venison in the fall. The dining room is large but quiet, so is good for business or pleasure.

This was one of the first places we went on a date after the birth of our son, thanks to a friend's recommendation and a gift card we got from our wedding in July 2017. I instantly fell in love with everything about this restaurant. It's quaint attic space, the small details, the cozy atmosphere were especially wonderful for me as a Canadian. It is rare to find a place like this at home so I truly enjoyed every moment. The staff was super friendly, the food was DELICIOUS and the prices were definitely agreeable. We ordered everything we could possibly think of (several starters, main dishes, the biggest steak and several drinks each) and it cost â¬75. Right in the center of Alkmaar, it made for a great date night. There is no doubt I will go back to this restaurant, hopefully sooner than later.Thanks for all those compliments! Some would call it old-world charm, I would say old-fashioned. No surprises in the menu, clearly designed to serve a larger group. Not very well cooked either. Fish sauce too heavy and fat. Meat overcooked. Decent wines to pair the food.

This restaurant is slightly at the edge of the historic centre, meaning removed from the tourist crowds. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. We started with drinks (great beer from the island of Texel) and they prepared us a special cheese platter. We then had a variety of dishes, including a juicy and excellently prepared sirloin steak. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, and we left the hotel after digestives in a very good mood.
