The chicken vindaloo and lamb jalfrezi were poor.The lamb was tough and went in the bin. Chicken was not as hard but the vindaloo was bland.The cheese naan had not been anywhere any cheese.Spend money elsewhere.

We had a table for 5 on a Tuesday night, all the food was to a good standard and decent portions. There are several house special selections which Iâd recommend.The best thing was the service from the staff though, very friendly and helpful, happy to stay open late until we were ready to leave.

Recently had a lovely evening meal in Kolkata. The manager Ali was was very welcoming and helpful for suggestions on what to try. The food was full of flavour and the portions are just right. Highly recommend the restaurant to others and shall be returning soon!

Family tradition has always been to meet with friends on Christmas Eve and head to a local restaurant. This time we got ripped off and were overcharged and the waiter couldnât care less. We wonât be back and neither will our friends!

Came in today for a meal with the family, quick and friendly service. Was quiet at 4pm which was ideal. 3 starters and 4 mains. Happy with all meals. The four people at our table all had a different main dish and all were excellent. Tasty, great value and presented by friendly staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere and would stress food is really very good. Read website but just ignore elegant. Not a place to admire the decor but if you want very good indian cooking with value for money this is the place. Note bring your own booze but no corkage charged - can use pub opposite or bring a bottle(s). Enjoy your meal.

20 minutes after opening, there was a man hoovering and that stayed in the middle of the restaurant during our brief visit. My friend asked for a different glass as there was a chip in it and got a filthy look. The waiter just swopped it with a glass from another table. Have been to Hanney Spice several times and always ordered several starters rather than a main, leaving room for a dessert. This time the rude waiter said we couldn't order starters without a main and was very insistent about it, so we left. He followed us into the car park, saying we had to pay for what we'd ordered and was told to go away. He then said the chef would cook just starters, as if he was doing us a favour! Well done, Hanney Spice, for losing 2 customers in such a short time. No wonder your restaurant was empty. Needless to say, we went elsewhere and got starters, dessert and good service.

Five of us met up for a meal at Masooms last night. A couple of the group had never eaten here before but will certainly be returning again! We opted for the Super Banquet which was amazing! The food just kept coming! The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. If you appreciate great traditional Indian food this is the place for you. I can highly recommend Masooms for a great night out. We will be back again soon.
