In a quiet part of town apx 10 min walk from Villamoura Marina, seconds from Amsterdam Cafe (A'Cafe was excellent and cheap, local night worker/Taxi driver spot, football on Tele etc). Read the reviews re Massala Maarke and thought must try. I wasn't sure on wow factor given all rave reviews (with respect) were from folk that had previously posted very little nor appeared to travel extensively. Service was excellent, starters such as Samosa were meaty but dry and bland. Main didn't really hit the mark, quality was fine but quiet tame and lacking in authentic flavors. Didn't quite hit the mark for me. My previous landmarks in terms of curry standards Chutney Ivy (Leicester), Mumtaz (Bradford), Sangam & Curry mile (Manchester), Cinnamon (Kings Langley), London West End and so on. Appreciate differences between Bangladesh, Pakistani and Indian curries but felt it lacked the wow factor.I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. It is through constructive feedback of our valued guests that we are able to maintain and indeed where necessary improve upon our food and service. Providing our guests with Quality Indian food and hospitality is our top priority. I regret to note that your experience at Masala Maarke didnât match your expectations. We have noted your specific feedback and conveyed to the kitchen team. With regards to our location, I agree we are in a quiet part of Vilamoura. Santander & Millennium Banks; Vilamoura office; Spar Supermarket; Vilamoura Church; handful of cafes and bars is all that we have in our location. With your understanding of Indian food, extensive travel and regularity in giving feedback to restaurants we can surely benefit. Please do reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any further comments or suggestions. Warm wishes

A delicious curry with the best cheese & garlic nan bread i have ever had!Good choice of food. Nicely presented. Servers perhaps a bit over attentive but then at least its good and not poor service!! Definitely recommend this place for curry lovers. The chicken jalfrezi was so tasty & a good portion.Complimentary baileys or port afterwards too, nice touch.

An Honest attempt to serve honest Indian food with authenticity and hospitality.we have the largest vegan and vegetarian options.
We visited on a quiet Thursday night and were looking forward to some decent Indian food, and we were not disappointed. This was not just "going out for a meal" this was a gastronomic experience. The chef, who came and chatted at the table, was most enthusiastic about food and is extremely knowledgeable. I have genuinely not enjoyed a meal as much as did at this restaurant. Make sure you put it on your list if you are in the area.Dear Guest, We are so glad that you enjoyed your meal experience with us. Our team is greatly encouraged with your words.we shall look forward to your next visit.warm regardsNarayan

Traditional Indian Tandoori Restaurant.
we were a family party of four, one being vegetarian. All of our meals were excellent-they will prepare your curry as hot/mild as you want it. We sat at the outside courtyard tables, and all enjoyed our food.It is a clean, pleasant restaurant, with excellent service from a lovely young chap named Chetan. Would certainly go there again if in Vilamoura, and can recommend this place to eat-thank you.

1st right after Macdonald Thereâs the taxi stand of vilamoura marina pass that further next to that is iresh cabin and we are just infront of that pub and the restaurant best door is called o colonial..
Had a great meal here in May 17 and contacted the owners to find out they are open all year .. penciled straight in for a decent curry in the cool night air ...Noticed it was busy all the time especially around 8pm time, lots of golfers smashing down a really great meal. We had planned to go one night and changed our minds and went elsewhere in the Square, but soon made a backtrack the next night ...We ordered nothing special ...Just pops n picks to start A chicken dish..A prawn dish..Rice to share ..Garlic nan bread...Aloo gobi ..A few beers and wine ..Not overpriced, no silly hidden extras on the bill. Been told it's the same family that's ran this place for years .. Credit to them. Service. Food. Staff. Thanks for a great meal...Tommy n Sally

My wife and I visited this restaurant on a cold evening but were given a very warm welcome once we got inside. This is a fairly new restaurant just off the main road to the west of the Marina in the middle of a block of shops leading to the Ampalius hotel. Decor is contemporary with good lighting and a good atmosphere. The menu is quite extensive with all the usual culprits on board. As I have a problem with certain Indian foods, I cannot have anything made with either ghea or coconut milk and had to explain how I could have my food cooked. The waitress advised me that it would not be a problem.I ordered a Chicken Dhansak and the wife had a Vegetable Biryani. The food arrived in short time and was absolutely perfect. Superb taste, colour everything you require of good Indian meal. We had a great evening with great food and waiting staff. Many thanks
