Family Restaurant Fully Licenced. serving the best Indian and Nepalese cuisine in Edinburgh. 52 home street, tollcross edinburgh eh3 9na
We dropped by this place by accident while visiting Edinburgh. We were with friends and hungry. What a stroke of good luck. Some of the best Indian food Iâve had. It was fresh, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. We had butter chicken, tarka daal, pakora and biriyani and beautiful naan. We ordered the pickle plate which was sauces and chutney and relish. This was a delicious addition to our meal. I donât know if I will ever get back to Edinburgh but I was really happy we found Everest.

Having well travelled the curry scene in Scotland for over 40 years...and even visited India, weaned on the flavours of the Punjab restaurants in Glasgow back in the 70's...at long last Edinburgh has matched such an establishment. Tandoori Prawns, marinated and cooked to perfection, and as for their Lamb Karahi...simply superb. As I have spent many years perfecting my own Indian cuisine...nothing comes closer than Rustom....not just in taste, but style!Thank you for taking the time to write us such an amazing review. We're absolutely pleased that you have enjoyed the quality of our food and service. We'd love to serve you again in our restaurant.

Dropping in on spec on a Friday night we were delighted to find a table here. The food was delicious, from the excellent chutney selection with popadums through the fabulous momo and pani puri and the great choice of veggie main courses, all beautifully cooked. We ate far more than we needed and brought the remainder home for lunch next day when it was just as yummy.Fab food, lovely friendly service and lots of vegan choices this is a real gem

I was recommended to eat here by my host at Rathan House, B + B. A smart restaurant, with freshly starched, white tablecloths and a pleasant ambience. I enjoyed a mild lamb curry (can't recall exactly which one) with spinach bajee. Good food, well-presented. I accompanied it with a pint of Kingfisher.Had a long chat with the proprietor who knew Cambridge well - my nearest city. A very pleasant, straightforward man.Strongly recommended.Hello John, it was a pleasure to host you and I'm glad you had an excellent experience at Itihaas. Many thanks for taking time out to review Itihaas and write such wonderful compliments. All the best and look forward to a future visit on your return. Thank you.

Nutan's is one of our favourite little restaurants, and Nutan herself is an absolute joy - always cheerful, warm and happy and up for a good chat. The food is wholesome and authentic, nothing fancy and very reasonably priced. Nutan's is just the place for a nice dinner after a busy day, or before a film at the nearby cinemas, or during Fringe if you just fancy getting away from the busier areas of town.

Edinburgh's Voujon, translated as invitation to dine, has been serving Indian and Bengali food in the Newington area of the city since 2005. The bright, airy and contemporary dining area, complete with simple floral displays and leather seating which invi
Really good menu with a wide choice, and while dishes had plenty of flavour they were mercifully lacking in excessive grease or fat - which Indian food can be prone towards. Good staff too. The restaurant looks fresh, modern and with some lovely large lamp shades hanging from the ceiling. Why I do not give it excellent is that those beautiful soft large lamps were not on, and instead there was very harsh bright lighting from the ceiling. This robbed the restaurant of any ambience. So easily remedied. And maybe that night whoever was in charge didn't realise how important lighting is. Otherwise an excellent evening.Dear TiggyWalkerFirst of all thank you very much for choosing to dine at voujon. Our Voujon family is truly happy to read your constructive review on TripAdvisor regarding your dining experience at Voujon. The way you praised our food and hospitality is given us great joy. Ordered a delivery expecting a fantastic meal giving the awards and reviews but was deeply disappointed. The meal came with no rice as ordered and when I called to try resolve the issue I was fronted by a rude mannered man who refused to send the rice without further payment and said we would need to wait as the driver was on other deliveries. The food was already cold at this point, it was watery out of a packet consistency and very bland! Lesson learnt, cook that Sunday meal saves paying over the odds for below basic food and dodgy bellies all round!Hi HappyRoamin,Thank you for your feedback. We have taken this seriously and have investigated the matter. After the telephone discussion with you on the night, your original order came to approx £40.00, in which you ordered 2 pilau rice and 3 Chapattis. You then cancelled one of the rices and the 3 chappatis and your order then came to £32.00.You then received your order and you phoned back to say you are missing a rice. That was the rice that you cancelled. As you cancelled the rice in the first order we did not charge you for this. We were more than willing to take the cost and send the driver out to you again with the rice as long as you had paid for the rice. However, as you had decided not to pay we were therefore not happy in giving you a free rice. You had in fact, said that it is ânot your problemâ if you cancelled and then again ordered rice without paying for it. As it was not your problem, this means it was also not our problem as we will not give any customer a dish for free. Sorry that your experience was not commensurate with your satisfaction. Next time, before ordering please do look at the menu and also the prices which give a clear indication of how much your meal will cost and you can subsequently order as per your budget. Thank you once again for your continuous support and loyalty. Kind regards, Habibur Khan
