Reviews on Indian food in Oslo, Eastern Norway, Norway. The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord. This stunning setting gives hints of the wild wonders that lie just beyond the city. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, to the challenging content within the new Nobel Peace Centre and the Holocaust Center, Oslo offers plenty of food for thought. The Oslo Pass allows free travel on public transport, free parking and many museum and sight admissions.

Jaipur is located in the middle of Karl Johans gate, on the first floor (above Burger King) with great views of Egertorget square. Walking through the door, you step into India with its paintings, lamps, dark furniture and delicate white tablecloths. The
Came here on our last night in Norway. So easy to get to on the metro. Great central location. Service was great. Food selection was also very good. I had my regular lamb korma which was great. We had one other dish with rice and two garlic naan. Medium spice was perfect for me, the naan was nice and garlicky. Great place for Indian food.

We were a family of 4 adults, out for some Indian food on a Friday evening. We were very well taken care of at arrival and followed to our table. We had booked on beforehand. Indian beer was ordered while we looked into the the list of dishes. Quickly after we folded the list, our waiter came and took our orders. The service at this restaurant was very good, attentive, quick and friendly. We had mushrooms as starters, for mains we chose three different lamb dishes and one king prawns. Additionally nan bread was ordered, both with garlic and without. We appreciated being asked what spice strength we wanted, it is easy to forget about that, medium was the winner. When the food came, specially the main dishes, we would have liked the table to be bigger. Fortunately we were placed by a window and we had to place the nan bread in the window space. Our mushrooms were good and perfect starters. The lamb dishes was excellent, simply perfect. The king prawns were good and tasty. One of us had beer through the meal, that was a very good choice. We three others wanted red wine, and although we chose one with a lot of taste, It did not add much to the perfect and spicy meal. A spicy white wine would probably been a better choice, even with the lamb. However, we enjoyed the remaining good red wine afterwards. We had an enjoyable evening with great food and service and we can fully recommend this restaurant.

We were a group of 4 and enjoyed a delicious dinner here (sitting outside). Menu offered lots of vegetarian options and we ordered a variety of dishes. Every dish was delicious and nicely spiced (we chose the more spicy options). Easily one of the best Indian places in Oslo!

We went on last day of our OSLO trip. The food taste was very mediocre ( have tried around 7-8 Indian restaurants in my 2 weeks Denmark and Norway trip, this being the worst). The masala mutton dish didnât tasted fresh at all however Dal Makhni was ok. The service of a lady waitress was very proactive and good however some major attitude issues with the head waiter and the manager. We were charged NOK 30 for a single onion which was no where mentioned on the Menu. For the price you pay for this mediocre food and the wrong attitude itâs more of a Blemish than a jewel.Dear Guest,We thank you for your valuable feedback. It is really disappointing to hear that the food at our restaurant did not fall into your taste. We strive to provide quality and taste in all the dishes we offer. Our very responsible manager took your order, certainly you were asked about the food twice, you should have mentioned that you didn't like it. Our service minded and hard working chefs would have made it perfect meal to meet your expectations , even if they had to do it as many times. if you had really went to other fine dining restaurants in Denmark or Norway then you must be aware that some restaurants even charge for water (Don't want to mention it that we give it for free) but as you are mentioning about a salad that costed you 30 NOK I would like tell that In our restaurant you get complimentary pickles, chutneys and a platter of pappadum with salad and raita. Good enough a deal, which you must had certainly enjoyed. We hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you in the future to ensure you have a pleasant experience with us.Regards,Jewel Of India

Mother India is Norwayâs oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma family the restaurant opened its door in 1993, and has been with the same family in the same location ever since. We are proud of this, but also humble to our guests' expectations of us.
Worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to!I read what they wrote and went with high expectations, but it was a huge disappointment! I love Indian food, I go once a week in restaurantsIndians and never seen anything like it! Tikka massala without any flavor, besides coriander, a lot of cilantro and tomato extract! Alias ââpounds and pounds of cilantro in Raita and Naan bread!

We are temporarily closed for renovation from 29th June and we be opening with normal business hours from 20th july. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I enjoyed two meals here. First on my own, and then with a group of colleagues (on my recommendation). On both occasions the service was gentle and nicely paced. The food was as I might hope it to be, with tender meat, deliciously spiced sauce (at the heat level I requested), and beautiful naan bread. With a table of 8 people, the service was just as good and they were very accommodating with payment of the bill. My colleagues who live in Oslo were delighted to find such a good Indian restaurant, and promise to go again.

The Punjabi kitchen The Singh family, who runs Benares Restaurant, comes from the northern Indian state of Punjab, with love for spices and food. The restaurant menu itself consists of dishes from all over India, but behind all the food there is a Punjabi
Had a sensational meal here. The chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection. I loved the that the sauce was separate to the meat. The nans were great and service super swift!

We walking in without realising it was an Indian Restaurant. Very popular, already crowded. It was karma, we were offered the best seats in the house at the bar overlooking the kitchen. What a happy and hard working group we watched preparing the food. It wasnât long before we realised this was no ordinary kitchen...the food was being prepared with exquisite care and there was fine attention to detail. Surprise....a welcome drink was put in front of us. We had been watching a lot of them being prepared and suddenly two arrived. Lovely smooth taste with a hint of spice...no name....chef just makes them up. Then suddenly 6 puff balls of Dahi Puri arrived...oh main meal is taking a bit of time...try this...crispy semolina balls filled with spiced chick peas and potato tamarind and mint chutney and a bit of yoghurt.....to die for. We revived ourselves and worked through what we had actually ordered.Bharwa Shakarkandi..hollowed out sweet potato filled with loads of stuff...so good accompanied with a tandoori sauce and another dish of cauliflower, peas and tomato etc.Watching the kitchen we expressed our appreciation to the very friendly crew. The Head Chef was just wonderful but watching the Tandoori oven being worked flat chat by one of the guys wow....that is fast and precise work. This is a place not to be missed although the head chef is heading off to start his own street food restaurant shortly. Related to the owner we didnât think he would be far away from the restaurant in its future. Head floor manager dropped by for a chat very proud of her staff and restuarant. Said there were 87 languages spoken by the staff and they came from all over with a solid core of norwegians. Service was friendly helpful and timely.A night we wonât forget for a long time. $650Kr for the food and and one wine. A goodly tip was added deservedly

Is this the best Indian food I have had? No probably not, but it was tasty enough. Servings are a little on the small side and initially we only had one small container of rice between two of us, but they quickly brought a second when asked.I would eat here again, but think I would rather sample a few different smaller dishes than have one average sized main again. Value wise it was not bad by Oslo and Norway standards.
Made in India is inspired by millions of Indian street food vendors who have preserved the authentic Indian street food taste and tradition. Our mission is to bring the diverse Indian cuisine from the street of India to the street of Oslo. We serve North
