First visit to The Spice Heaven. We ordered a chefs special and a signature dish with pilau rice and nan which we collected. Everything was very tasty and still nice and hot when we got home. Friendly staff as well. Will definitely be back.

Visited with family whilst working locally. Located in centre of town, 2 minutes from railway station and local pubs etc. Doesnât look much from outside but decor inside is modern and smart.Service we received was prompt and friendly. Food was good, could have been a little spicier but hey overall very nice. Matar Paneer wasnât great and not what I was expecting- no chunks of cheese but only a mild criticism.Kingfisher and Cobra on tap or you can bring your own drinks at no charge!!

My friends and I met for an early Saturday evening meal. We were made welcome and received excellent service throughout. The food was lovely, hot and tasty. My chicken tikka was cooked to perfection. We all agreed that Cafe India will be visited on a regular basis. Thank you.

UPS!!! Big thumbs down for me. Having explained I am celiac before booking the table, so no wheat and gluten and, asked for the waiter to recommend dishes on the menu for me when ordering......two dishes were whipped away in quick succession on arrival at the table by other waiters who had overheard my earlier conversations and considered what had arrived had wheat in....found out there was very little to choose from in the end.Very disappointed.

We'd visited this restaurant several years ago and had been meaning to come back for a while as we'd liked it. Tonight my son brought us back to celebrate my birthday. We'd booked a table which proved to be wise as it was full at 7pm on a Saturday. Even though it was busy service was well paced.Tasty food. And the nice thing is there are different dishes on the menu.

We ate here last night. Weâve had many take aways and the service is always prompt and food good so we decided to try the restaurantThe place is like most Indian restaurants Iâve eaten at. The man who served us was slightly humourless but the service prompt and attentive. We started with popadoms and all the sides which was good. Then I had Pakora which was really greasy and my partner had garlic king prawn which did what it said on the tin. For main I had duck in a masala sauce. The duck really didnât work. Now know why I always stick to chicken. But you donât know unless you try. My partner had meat thali which he described as very average. So it was fine and we will continue to use the take out. But probably now eat there again. Not bad but just not great. Plus the toilets were very cold and a bit grubby and whole experience was not helped by the fact we had a table of people right next to us who kept burping very loudly. Not the restaurants fault I get. But pretty off putting for a nice dining experience.
Weve ordered lots from Calne tandorri and love the food... one major issue i have is their advertising. They abandon an old battered Renault around Calne ( with a banner on the side) at really silly, inconsiderate places ie next to junctions, blocking your view of the road. At present its abandoned outside Tescos, stopping uou from viewing right as you exit the car park. This is making the town look dirty, and is a safety hazard. Not impressed

Authentic quality Indian food form experienced chefs, creating a traditional atmosphere
After reviewing the menu online I couldn't see anything that was identified as Vegan so I called the restaurant and they assured me that they could definitely do some dishes as Vegan. Upon arrival the waiter was unsure of even what Vegan meant?! but I asked to speak to the person I spoke to on the phone and we went through the menu and a couple of dishes could be made vegan. I opted for a vegetable vindaloo with plain rice. It was good and a reasonable price but in this day and age and with the popularity of plant-based diets the staff should be abreast of what this constitutes and explicitly adding items to an online or printed menu would go away to attracting those on such dietary needs.

Iâd really want to score this between average & very good cos actually the food was fine. The service was poor in terms of attentiveness and it doesnât have a licence ( which was irritating only because weâd called to book & could have been told at that point. There is an off licence & a supermarket close by). They were extremely helpful in terms of knowing their gluten-free options and I felt safe. Shame the popodums werenât gf. Maybe some training in waiter service would pay off?
