Booked a family meal for a Saturday night using the Kathmandu website and received a prompt email response confirming booking. This was the second time we've been to Kathmandu and have always enjoyed the food.Turned up and were shown to a nice table, well laid out and well presented. The restaurant is nicely appointed and warm. The restaurant Kathmandu replaced often felt very stark and cold.Starters were lovely. A combination of poppadoms, chutneys, onion bhajis and woccha, which we shared amongst 5 of us. Main courses were amazing and very different to each other. Certainly with 4 curries, 2 rice, 2 nan breads and a chickpea salad there was plenty of food to go around. The chickpea salad in particular was very tasty and provided a nice alternative to the curries. My personal favourite is the lamb gurkha curry, but all the curries were amazing and very flavoursome. The only point to note, is that whilst the service is good, there's room for improvement. We ordered drinks, starters and mains all together, but had to ask again for our drinks, which appeared to have been forgotten. Equally, items such as table were water and an extra chutney tray were forgotten and had to re-asked for. Individually these are minor points, but collectively it begins to get quite frustrating.Personally, I think the restaurant would benefit from someone more experienced front of house to help tie it all together. I'd also suggest that the restaurant allows the waiters/waitresses to sample the dishes, so they can better understand the characteristics of the individual curries.Dear 48kierans,Thank you very much for visiting our restaurant and thanks for sharing your dining experience. We went there because we were staying nearby for an early morning flight out Manchester. We were 5 adults and 1 child. Naturally we went for a light dinner. The place was empty. Literally empty on a Sunday night. Not a fly. We sat and asked what we wanted for drinks. We didn't want anything because we were travelling. Then came 'pappodoms' . 50p each, we said no again because well, it's only pappodoms. Nothing fancy for us. We ordered 6 naans and 2 curries to share. That's when it started. The waiter of the hotel that had atleast 30 other empty chairs refused to give us it order because we didn't order enough. The bill would have been atleast 40 GBP. If there was a que, I would have understood the logic. We walked out naturally because he said ' All you Indians are always so miserly, always share and never order enough'. That we weren't hungry and wanted a light dinner didn't mean anything to him. Bloody racist. I feel sorry for the owner of the joint. I am sure our bill would have gone a long way to atleast paying that arrogant waiters salary for the day in an otherwise empty restaurant. Now I know why it was so empty.

We have been visiting the Massala Lounge for years both as a couple and later as a family. The service is good and the food is delicious. The menu consists of all the favourites you would expect to find on an Indian menu. The portions are a good size. The poppodums are always warm, crisp and fresh with a great chutney tray selection. My favourite Indian restaurant in the area.

Went on a quiet week day evening. Food was average. Staff very miserable and appeared not interested. Women's toilets were very scruffy indeed. There was a sign on the wall apologising and stating it would be rectified soon. According to a Google review this sign has been there for 2 months. Even worse there was NO water coming from the taps in the gents toilets.

We ate here last Monday evening. Upon discovering that we had been regulars at Sangam in Rusholme MANY years ago, we were treated like old friends by the lovely waiters! The restaurant itself is in a beautiful building and the decor is very tasteful. Food was fantastic and a great evening was had by all.

We have been to Sigiriya twice, and cannot fault the food, all very lovely. However the cost of the drinks is astronomic! Would just order soft drinks or water if there is a next time. The pappodoms and chutney tray were quite dear too and not impressed with a service charge. We prefer to tip ourselves if we feel the meal and the service was lovely, not being forced to tip.Talking about service, on our first visit we had a nice, talkative waiter, he was very nice, helpful and friendly plus another man in the background who was also very nice, smiley and friendly, but on our second visit the man who served us was very serious, not smiley, wasn't warm or particularly friendly. Maybe the manager, I am not sure, but he's not a great front of house person! We had vegetarian dishes, Biadun, curries and a special rice dish. All were very tasty. The decor is lovely; modern yet uniquely styled and interesting. All looked very clean. Didn't use the toilets so can't comment on those or whether they have a disabled comment. Didn't notice any highchairs but that doesn't mean they don't have them.Might be a long time before we visit again. If the service charge is removed then probably sooner. Hi Mrs-L-C999,Thanks a lot for taking time in reviewing us on TripAdvisor. We will definitely look into this in positive manner and won't disappoint yourself on your next visit to our restaurant. Thanks and Regards,Sigiriya Team

As it was Sunday, it was best to book, and a good job we did as it was incredibly busy, this is probably due to the special Sunday buffet that Essence offers. We don't usually go for this and normally order from the main menu or have ours "custom" made. We've been going here for years and its always a very high standard. It may not be in the heart of Altrincham but is worth the small walk, as the service is always great as is the food.

Rasassi is a modern Indian cuisine "with a twist" fine dining experience! Inspired from 15th century word ârasassyâ, to rasassy someone is to satisfy them with a great meal.â With Tandoor oven and traditional cooked dishes supported by homemade chutneys,
Iâve eaten here a number of times & this restaurant really offers excellent food & friendly service. A great menu with a wide selection of dishes. One of our diners had really stringent dietary requirements & the chef came out to see her personally & cooked her a fantastic dish; without the offending ingredients. Looking forward to going back very soon.Thank you for your feedback we really appreciate your comments. We look forward to see you again soon and enjoy our authentic dishes.
