Reviewed By xbowieVery noisy , no toilet paper for 2 days , its has workers staying there a lot , so banging doors at 5am , didnt feel welcome and didnt really feel relaxed , loud music and drunken workers .Did inform the owners ,they didnt seem bothered , seems they remove any negative reviews , of are willing to accept good reviews ,you have to accept bad reviews .Stay clear ,wish i had .

Reviewed By trevorstewart1948My mam and dad every year took myself and my two brothers to Whitley bay, for one day that was our annual holiday (70 years ago ) when I arrived and told we have a sea view, that made my stay absolutely brilliant, even sitting up in bed in the morning having a cup tea I could see Saint Mary,s Lighthouse and waves coming in. WELL DONE

Reviewed By 275mariantThe apartment was well located within 15 mins walking distance of the city centre. Accommodation was very clean, well equipped on the whole with a high standard of furnishings. Really comfy beds, good shower and good cooking facilities. The area was nice with easy access to local pubs, cafes and shops without having to run the gauntlet of city centre traffic. Good communication with letting agency with regard to access arrangements and they were on the ball when we provided feedback. On site parking a bonus. We would stay again and would definitely recommend.

Breakfast was plentiful and nothing was too much trouble for Liz. Close to the beach and amenities. Would definitley book again when visiting Whitley

The Metropolitan Guest House is situated in the heart of Whitley Bay, we provide our guests with quality bed & breakfast accommodation in a modern setting at an affordable price. Centrally located, The Metropolitan is a few minutes walk from the blue flag beaches and Whitley Bay town centre. The Metropolitan is positioned in a quiet street which is close to all transport links, restaurants, theatre, bars and nightlife. It is the ideal place to stay to enjoy all that Whitley Bay and surrounding areas have to offer. We provide free car parking (2 spaces available) - however the street offers free parking also. The only street in Whitley Bay to do so. All rooms are Non Smoking and equipped with En-suite bathroom, TV, Hairdryer, Tea/coffee facilities, water, shoe polish, coat hangers, cards and clothes brush. We are a 12 minute drive to the Silverlink Business centre by car. We are also a 2 minute walk from the Whitley Bay Metro station and 25 minute ride from Newcastle City Centre by Metro
Superb Boutique Hotel in Whitley Bay
Reviewed By Tom FLooking for a hotel in Whitley Bay, I was met by a largely uninspiring selection, but then spotted The Metropolitan Guest House which looked ideal for a business + pleasure visit. A great location next to the sea and town centre, parking and an interior that oozes character, style and sense of humour. Paul and Lee make you feel very welcome (at home!) - my double room was set out with style and the trimmings you'd expect from a good hotel. Ample room at my desk to set-up my laptop and finish work before meeting colleagues for drinks and dinner. A super comfortable bed and a great night's sleep was a great start to the day and then the wonderful aromas of home cooked breakfast led me don to a beautiful dining room with a huge bay window to enjoy a perfect breakfast which was easy to pre-order and served with a smile and a friendly chat. Can't recommend this wonderful place highly enough!

Reviewed By ESparkeThis is the second time we have stayed in this fabulous guest house, it’s lovely and bright, good set up for families with the 4 of us in one big room with plenty of space. There is a new park right outside and the beach is a stones throw away. Would definitely recommend staying here, the hosts go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, the breakfast was delicious :)

Reviewed By Da5hperOne night stay as attending a music concert at Stadium of Light (which was amazing) The hotel was clean and welcoming, the staff were excellent throughout, professional, helpful and friendly. It’s probably fair to say some elements of the room we stayed in would have benefited from some TLC however overall the experience was great and would definitely return for a short break. My daughter had a room also which was of equal standard. The bar attached - Bar 52 was equally as welcoming, there is also a discount applied if staying in the hotel. Overall this was a really good value for money stay. The full English was cooked fresh, delivered efficiently by friendly & professional staff-and of good quality. There is Parking at the hotel (although this is limited re hotel frontage 3/4 spaces) however the road the hotel is on has no parking limits other than the many drop kerb keep clear signs. We did manage to park on the road and to be fair I think it maybe depends on arrival time. We had limited time to explore the local area but everyone was so friendly and welcoming - we would definitely return to the area for a leisurely visit.

Then we got into our room, nice and clean, bathrooms and beds tidy. ( we actually got moved into a sea view room and same kind of lay out but much more elegant. once again loved this room as well) We had breakfast at 8 and literally bang on not too little not too much and everything was cooked perfectly. Overall, would happily come here again and would recommend to literally anyone or any families.
