The place is well located and the rooms are ok, but it doesn't really balance the unfriendliness of the day staff (night staff was completely friendly and nice, but you don't really deal with them). It seems that anything you might ask is a matter of disturbance. I came by for breakfast (included in the price) at 8. The ladies made me understand that they were busy having a conversation and I was bothering. So I came back at 10:15, but it was too late. Only until 10:00. And this, obviously said on a totally unfriendly tone. In the afternoon I asked for a coffee (kitchen serves as a restaurant during the day and there is coffee on the menu), I've been told there is no coffee. The place was completely empty during my whole stay (2 nights), the restaurant as well, and I can understand why. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I loved the comfort and isolation of the accommodation only 10 or 15 minutes walk from town. So many walking trails and the sound of the rushing river and birdsong. I extended my stay and could have stayed much longer if the desire to be in town for convenience hadn't won me over.

The hostel is close to the main square of Vilcabamba and is a perfect base for lots of hiking trails in and around this pleasant little town. Vilcabamba is the perfect place to rest, relax and reconnect with nature. Hostería Paraíso invites you to enjoy the magic of the valley of longevity with us. In our facilities, you can stay in our comfortable cabins, receive a massage in our Bioenergetic Pyramid, enjoy the beautiful climate of the valley in the pool area or taste the great variety of typical dishes in our restaurant. In the same way, we can advise you on any activity that you would like to do, like hiking around the valley, horseback riding, climbing to Mandango and more! Hope to see you soon!
The overall experience at Hosteria Parisio is wonderful. The special treatment received by Jacqui and her sons, and the rest of the staff has been unbeatable, which is why this has been the third year in a row I have stayed there.

Villa Beatriz Lodge is a hotel in Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador. A symphony of natural wellness, Villa Beatriz is an eco-luxury hotel that showcases the best sacred valley, where the people live over 100 years old. The upscale Ecuadorian hotel is located just 60 minutes away from the Camilo Ponce Enriquez Airport (LOH), embedded in the warm highlands of the Mandango mountain.
We booked this place late December 2021, to spend the New Years Day holidays in Vilcabamba. After having read the reviews at Booking.com and seen the pictures on the web, we were enchanted. We contacted the owner (Beatriz) and explained her that we are 3 families, how many rooms and beds we needed, etc. All could be arranged, and so we booked directly with Villa Beatriz. We were asked to transfer a 50% deposit and so we did. When we arrived to the place, it ended up one big deception. One of the families was assigned in the main house, the other family in a bungalow 2 minutes walking up hill. The whole place was one big mess. The rooms smelled so badly, there was even still dirty dishes on the countertop, and there was trash and cattle poop everywhere around. In addition, the grass hadn’t been mowed in weeks. It was clear to us that this had been one day a gorgeous resort. But that must have been a long time ago. At least before Covid. Since years it hadn’t had any maintenance. The condition of the pool was simply poor: green tiles, loose planks and dangerous nails…. We certainly would not let our kids play around. Mrs Beatriz herself wasn’t present at the time we arrived. So we called her. According to her, all was good and as agreed, and we had no reason to complain. Then we spoke to her son, who was around. He was as ignorant as his mother was. We took plenty of pictures to substantiate our complaints, sent them to Mrs Beatriz, and then we left! We asked Mrs Beatriz for a refund of our money, but we never ever heard back from her. So we lost our money. Luckily, we found another place to stay in the village of Vilcabamba itself and therefore, this terrible experience did not ruin our December holidays. We should have read the earlier reviews on tripadvisor before we booked this place. We learned our lessons. Indeed, the owner is a scam!

We felt very fortunate to have found Alpha House. We were looking for a quiet place, in the nature, close to the center and we found it! Not only that but it was like a dream: two bedroom house, fully equipped and... the view to Mandango hill was breathtaking. There was no need for TV with that view! There was excellent wifi signal, the house was beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, nice sofa and the kitchen which we used everyday, had all we needed, including a blender for juices or shakes! It's about 15 minutes downhill walking distance to the center of Vilcabamba where are all the mini markets, shops, banks, bus station, etc. Richard was exceptional in making sure our needs were met, he went beyond our expectations! He is such a great inspiring person, a true storyteller with deep wisdom too. Aide his wife and Daniel, their son were also very accommodating and good people to meet. They are all very unique, that's why Aplha House is so special! 1000% recommended!

This is a nice place only privates and a big garden where you can park. Rooms are simple but enough. And you can use the kitchen. There is a cheap restaurant. It is on the main street but you don't here that. In the weekends it can be loud from the plaza and restaurants, but stops early.

This place has the BEST steam room! And their pool is amazing! The rooms are comfortable and clean with lovely showers (and lots of hot water). The owner is super accommodating, and you'll always meet fun and interesting people staying here!

We arrived early, it said that you can check in any time after 08.00 we got there about 09.30, we checked in and were shown the rooms, it was odd that they could not find the keys. So we dumped off our gear quick of the room and we were off. On our return later that day , we brought some food back and ate in the tv area. We then retired to our rooms, where we found that the windows had been left open, great for fresh air, but bad for the number of bugs that though they would stay with us. We found that none of the windows had screens, there was only one light in the room and that was part of the ceiling fan, with the windows the room heated very fast. That is when found out that the fan did not work, it took a while to find a person that could help, the fan is about 14 feet up there so we needed a ladder, the guy went up there and turned on the fan and left. After he left we wanted to settle down, that is when we found out that we could not switch of the light without turning off the fan. So we had to find the guy again, to bring back the ladder and get him to tie string to the controls of the fan so we can have the lights off and the fan running. So now we are all awake we check out the room, no lights by the beds, no rubbish bin. The bathroom no toilet paper holder, no rubbish bin no privacy covering over the windows no screens on the windows, a electric shower head that pointed at the wall below, bugs everywhere. The bed had sheets that when you sat on the bed the cake off the corners, and a bed cushion that was so hard it was painful to sleep on it. Breakfast , no milk for the coffee, juice and a waffle with a slice of cheese and ham in it with a scrambled egg. We were given three different codes for the wyfy none of them worked, we rest one of the routers and that one worked. We left that morning to find somewhere else to stay.
