Sitting high above the fishing harbour in Ventnor, The Hambrough (AA 5 Star Accommodation) offers accommodation by the sea on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight. All but one of our seven spacious bedrooms has magnificent views of the sea and our award winning breakfasts are legendary. Dining Reservations The Hambrough Restaurant is open Tuesday - Saturday for lunch and dinner and also for Lunch on Sunday. We will also be offering Lite Bar Bites. Please let us know if you wish to reserve a table - the restaurant can become very busy particularly at weekends so we would advise that you book in advance. Our bar is open daily where we serve excellent cream and afternoon teas.
4 rooms for a one night stop over during our walking trip. We didn’t phone ahead with our ETA and were slightly worried when we did arrive that no one was there to greet us. No phone call or message but luckily another resident let us in and we happily picked up our keys and found our own rooms. We did call and get an answer machine and luckily they phoned back - they had in fact left a key out for us which we hadn’t spotted but later went to retrieve - a text would of solved all those issues. We all went for breakfast at 0830 (and so did 4 other guests) and felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience but once we had been served the food etc was nice - just giving people coffee/tea and toast for the table would of been nice so at least we felt we were being tended too. But in the end we were all satisfied and off on our merry way for the next let of our journey. A lovely venue which was a mix of a B&B and a hotel and worth a stay.

No24 is a small hotel in the centre of Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Guests are served a choice of breakfasts in our coffee & tea shop that opens to non-residents between 10:30 to 16:00. After 6 the space transforms into a cocktail and wine bar so our resident and non-resident guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or spend the evening with us if they have a special event to celebrate
We stayed here one night and it was a strange experience. I phoned ahead to warn that we would be checking in late, but the owner gave the impression he had no record of my booking. When I mentioned Booking.com he said hadn’t looked at that website for some time but “if it says you have a booking, then you must have”. It appeared from this that he was not taking the accommodation side of his business very seriously.. When we arrived at the place (actually a bar with rooms upstairs) he told us loudly, in front of his guests and more than once, that we were late. It was probably his idea of a joke, but after doing a 25 mile charity walk it wasn’t what we needed to hear. He also complained that he’d have to do extra cleaning because of our walking boots and yet our boots weren’t actually dirty. We also found an old rail ticket from a previous guest on the floor, so maybe cleaning wasn’t that much of a priority after all. As for the room, it was noisy (above the high street with no double glazing) and the wash basin was the old fashioned type with no mixer for hot and cold water. There was no toilet paper dispenser. He didn’t give us a wi fi code (a basic service nowadays), and one that we found written on a scrap of paper in the hallway didn’t work.

Ventnor Bay House, a luxurious two bedroom bed and breakfast, is set on the cliff top overlooking Ventnor Haven, with spectacular, uninterrupted views. The house sits in a grand Victorian terrace of nine houses, originally built to house naval officers. Ventnor Bay House provides the perfect holiday accommodation. Minimum 2 night stay.
We stayed for 2 nights in May after visiting Osborne House. I endorse previous reviews. The location is perfect for the sea view, access to the coastal walk and just minutes into town where there is plenty of choices to eat. Richard is a great host: accommodating, informative and knowledgable. The rooms are on the 2nd floor accessible by grand stairs. Nice touches with sherry, cake, sweets, drinks in the fridge and tea/coffee. Richard arranged breakfast to our preferences including homemade Bircher muesli. Access to the property is slightly obscure through what looks like a police car park. IoW is surprisingly hilly in the east and south and Ventnor is essentially built on a cliff. We will be back!

The Royal Hotel is one of the Isle of Wight’s Best Kept Secrets – a refined and elegant historic jewel and a destination for the discerning traveller for more than 150 years. This is the island’s leading AA Four Star hotel. Grand yet intimate, this beautiful early Victorian hotel has 51 bedrooms and is set in sub tropical gardens in the seaside town of Ventnor, on the Island’s south coast.
Visited some friends on IOW over bank holiday and asked them to book somewhere good for lunch on the Sunday. The Royal they chose and what a superb decision. The food, wine and especially the staff were way beyond our expectations it really was exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Family run B&B providing comfortable, clean ensuite rooms & breakfast. Wi fi available
Stayed here May half term and it was one of the best B+Bs we've stayed in. Stuart the host was helpful and welcoming and the place was lovely and clean and well provisioned. It's good spot for walking down to the beach or the town and the view from our room was lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

The Eversley Ventnor, originally built as a gentleman's residence in 1873 has been in our family since 1964. Over the years we have built a reputation for our quality service and friendly, attentive staff. Should you choose to stay, be it for 2 nights or 2 weeks, the Isle of Wight is a wonderful place to experience. The Eversley is situated by the picturesque Ventnor park, and our grounds lead to beautiful costal walks. The Eversley is approximately a 6-minute walk from Ventnor town and Ventnor beach. Nestling at the foot of St Boniface downs & lapped by the English Channel, Ventnor is renowned for its mild climate and almost Mediterranean feel, the perfect choice for your Isle of Wight holiday.
I am just back from my 2nd stay at The Eversley and I continue to be impressed. The hotel is situated in a beautiful and convenient spot. The rooms where I have stayed, are: large, clean, nicely decorated, well maintained and benefit from a very comfortable bed. It was lovely and quiet at night time too. The hosts are attentive and make you welcome extending their welcome to my dog Filou. She loves it here. The breakfast are very good and filling and Filou got her own little bowl with a chopped up sausage! One can only praise this hotel and hope to be back for more. If travelling away from peak times, try & get the hotel to book your ferry. My ferry was more than 50% cheaper. One of the best valued dog friendly hotels I have stayed in.

Secure off road parking for all guests with level access to ground floor rooms available. We had a wonderfully comfortable and restful stay at the Leconfield in what turned out to be Paul and Cheryl Judge’s final week before retirement. The new owners will have a hard act to follow. If they manage to maintain the Judges’ high standard, the Leconfield will remain a first class place to stay.

We stayed at Peacehaven to get away from London. Had a wonderful time - absolutely stunning views, location tucked away in the cliffs overlooking the sea. Hospitality by host was second to none, and great breakfasts; she catered for every need. We truly didn't want to leave! Shall be returning very soon, superb value. Only noise are the birds and crickets! Had an absolutely brilliant break. Thank you
