Located in the beautiful Cerro Alegre, the heart of Valparaiso and an area that has been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site, Casa Galos is just a short stroll from restaurants, cafes, shops, but still in quiet area where you can feel "Valpo's" neighbourhood life.Casa Galos was built in 1885 and it has been carefully refurbished and completely restored in 2012. Nine comfortable en suite rooms and six cosy apartments, fully equipped, beautifully decorated with spectacular views to Valparaiso's hills, and with everything you need to feel home away from home.
Casa Galos is a cozy boutique hotel with excellent service and killer views from the rooftop terrace. Each room is different and all have a small cooktop, sink and tea kettle. There’s a tiny fridge in each room. Casa Galos offers a simple breakfast with made to order eggs, fruit coffee, etc. and it’s more than enough. There are several gathering spaces throughout the hotel to hang out if you don’t wish to spend time in your room.

A little farther from town that I'd like, but excellent service. Breakfast is included, the owner had 24/7 availability and recommended me to an excellent restaurant. Don't be fooled by the appearance, it is a great stay.

Voga is a restauration project that rescues an old Victorian house dates 1880. All original details that were reamaining in the house were restaured: wooden floors, parquett, doors and locos, even some lamps, etc. Following Chic&Basic concept the decoration is a mix between old and modern, that values good design and a feelling of home.Situated on 3 levels, Voga offers 6 rooms, all of them have modern private bathroom, most of the rooms have view to the Ocean.Features a common garden with fruit trees and a terrace with view.Located in the heart of Cerro Alegre, one of the most turistic hills of Valparaiso, Voga is a 5-minute walk from Baburizza Museum of Fine Arts, 15-minute walk from Anibal Pinto, next to main restaurants and sightseeings.Breakfast is served daily. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms.
Cerro Alegre is a lovely place to stay. Voga is well located, very quiet and provides nice breakfasts. The hotel was virtually empty as many people cancelled trips to Chile due to fears about political unrest. Valparaiso is a beautiful city and we never felt unsafe. The street art is remarkable. Highly recommend the city and Voga Guesthouse.

Fauna Hotel Restaurant is composed by 22 rooms, whiches are distributed on 3 categories, where if you stay on "Superiors" and "Suites Fauna" ones, you are going to find beautiful views to the city and the bay city. This is located on a perfect place, just in the middle of the most tourisctic and heritage city area, just 5 minutes walking to the center city and between several souvenir stores, design stores and many restaurants. The Fauna Concept is strongly guided by the material and intangible heritage rescue, the design, the simplicity and, above all by delivering a really good service.
I loved our three night stay at Hotel Fauna. The deck and the overall design are breath-taking. High quality furnishings and decor throughout just add to the already intoxicating offer. Great location and delicious restaurant. Top, top, top!

Somerscales Boutique Hotel, was once the home of nineteenth century English painter Thomas Somerscales and his family, who in 1874 built his house in the heart of Cerro Alegre, which dwell in their lives in Valparaiso and would house much of its inspiration . In the present and after 140 years, the former home of the family becomes Somerscales an innovative tourist accommodation, located in an area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and their architecture, subject and environment they keep this concept.
Had two nights here in March. The hotel is presented with period artifacts in keeping with the age of the property. The room on the second floor was clean, if a little tired. The breakfast was good and the service very good and friendly. Everybody staying seemed to be British. The area around the hotel is pretty safe (some areas of Valparaiso are not and we were warned by some locals). It is also well positioned for many restaurants and bars. Good for a two night stay.

We are the biggest, most booked and more awarded hostel in town. Quality is our goal, always! Our location is just perfect, and we have almost 1000 square meters of infraestructure, a bar with foosball and karaoke, cinema & artistics nights, 3 fully equipped kitchens, a chilled patio, 4 big lounge areas, 24/7 reception, 23 big private and shared rooms, 11 shared bathrooms, restaurant, cafeteria, secure lockers and great multicultural staff to help you. Cerro Concepcion, our location, is the greatest neigborhood in town!! is totally central, chill by night, arti, and 3 blocks from an excellent restaurant-bars area!
Stayed here for two nights in a twin private with bunk bed. Our room was in the back building which comes with an own kitchen which was just like the main one quite well equipped. The room was fine apart from the window which couldn't be closed normally and would let the cold air in from outside. The bunk beds are wider than the avg. beds we had so far. The shared bathrooms were rather dirty and NOT cleaned daily. There was the same trash lying in one of the showers for two nights. Another review from March already mentioned this for the same bathroom to which the management replied that they will improve tge situation which is obviously not true. The common area is nice and there's also a bar downstairs. The location is excellent. You can pay with credit card but they surcharge you a 4% fee compared to when paying in cash. They justify it with that as a foreigner you don't need to pay tax (19%) but that has nothing to do with their 4% surcharge! Not sure if that's even allowed in Chile...

I had good experience with the Ibis Hotel before, but now... first, the lock of the room had issues to let us in, the room had no ventilation in the bathroom so all the steam stayed in, the window of the bedroom had problems to stay open, the TV didn't work, and I had no remote for the A/C. I felt sad because I payed the same amount that I payed in another hotel near, and the room was smaller and had all the issues mentioned before. The breakfast was good, not great, but I was satisfied. The staff was very polite and eager to help.

Stayed here a Thursday through Saturday and couldn't have been happier with the location. Our room had great views and a giant bathtub (helpful to bathe the baby ;) The only issue - and it was unfortunately a big one - was the VERY loud partying happening in the public space right underneath our windows. I believe the hotel called the police a few times to try to quiet things down, which was nice of them.

We were mainly happy about our visit, the staff is super friendly, the decor is pretty cool, and the rooms are ok. The breakfast was nice too. Kitchen is a bit tiny for the amount of people, but serves the job so we were happy with that too. However some very basic things could be improved, We were staying in a room with stairs where the beds were located upstairs of the room, close to the roof. Although the hostel states that there is silent time after 11pm or so, both nights there was very loud music and sounds of drunken people coming from the roof and even hallways. I understand it's a hostel but I think the personnel should be able to make people stick with the common rules to make sleeping possible for other customers.
