Stayed in the Lougher Suite. Lovely spacious room, very clean, roll top bath. Small bathroom with very small sink, room very warm, no air con. Instant coffee, no fridge. Beautifully decorated throughout, relaxing feel to the hotel. Food is fantastic, breakfast was delicious. You can't eat outside in the court yard which is a shame. I would return again if you could request and guarantee a particular suite and use the outdoor pool outside of spa hours, it's in a handy location for a weekend away for us.

The Bear has origins as far back as the 12th Century, but it's best known as the inn where they changed the horses on the mail run from Cardiff to Swansea. This famous Coaching Inn is steeped in history. Nowadays, this privately owned 3 star hotel is famed for its fine home-cooked food, friendly atmosphere and really good ale. During the 18th Century, Napoleon's troops were held in the 'Bear Pit' en route to London after a failed invasion at Fishguard! The Bear rests in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, surrounded by beautiful rural hills. The Brecon Beacons and the Welsh Valleys are close by, with breathtaking views. Some of the Valleys still have the mining houses visible as you drive through. The hotel is on the main high street of the historic town of Cowbridge. This chic market town boasts some fabulous boutique shops, lingering walks around the Roman wall and some of the most beautiful town-houses.
Went out for a family meal all food was excellent and all staff were helpful and friendly they couldn't do enough for us. We didn't feel rushed and they gave us enough time to chat and drink wine afterwards to enjoy the atmosphere. Will definitely be returning again very soon. Thank you.

Break your journey with the warmest of welcomes at the Premier Inn Hotel Bridgend (M4, J35). About as near as you can get to halfway along the M4, you'll find us a handy spot whether you're heading east or west, home or away. Of course, there's no shortage of things to see and do: catch all the tries and star turns at the Millennium Stadium, hole a putt or talk business at Coed-y-Mwstwr or grab your bucket and spade for a day at the seaside. And when it's time to recharge your batteries, head for our tasty restaurant, spacious rooms and extra-comfy beds.
It's located just off the motorway but the postcode isn't available in the SATNAV. It was an ideal location for our needs. Very helpful and professional staff. The room was very comfortable and very quiet.

I stayed here the night before my wedding which I regret doing now. I stayed the night with my bridal party and invited my parents and some family members to eat with us that evening in the grill. The wait for food was atrocious. They let my two friends order fish cakes and then an hour later brought out two burgers. We sent those back asking for the fish cakes only to be told they had no more fish cakes. So they let my friends order fish cakes and then didn’t let them know. We were then told there was only enough for one person to have the fish cakes so one friend had the burger instead. When the fish cake finally arrived it was just that…one fish cake…not two which is what is meant to be. They piled the plate with chips instead. Probably found that fish cake at the back of the freezer. All in all we waited two hour to be served our food with half of the party being served before the other half. Very unorganised for a massive hotel. I believe there were a few disappointed customers that evening. The manager did come and speak to us on request as I felt bad that the young waitresses had to deal with this nightmare. He was very gracious and apologetic and as I understand it explained there is some staffing issues. In the end the food was mediocre but at least we all managed to eat in the end even if it was just before bed. We had two of the meals refunded and a free bottle of Prosecco. But this kind of service really should not be happening anywhere least of all a 4 star hotel. The lifts were broken when we checked in so had to use the service lift which was hard to find at first. Someone should really of helped us with our bags or at least directed us to the lift. The room was big and comfortable enough. Just a disappointing evening for my bridal party and I.

We recently attended a wedding here and the venue is breathtaking. The reception staff and waiting staff are attentive and a lot of fun (in a professional way). The breakfast is great especially in their dining room. Myself and the girls are looking to go back again for a wine tasting and we can't wait!!

Miskin Manor is a hidden jewel in the crown of the Principality. Nestled in the heart of the Welsh countryside, yet just a few miles from the coast, the Manor is less than a mile from the M4. This stunning house, set in 22 glorious acres and blessed with a timeless ambiance, makes a delightful rural retreat in which to while away a peaceful and relaxing few days.
The pool has been shut for 6 months, thats fair enough, trouble sourcing parts, BUT pay me back the money owed you took back in January that you said would not be taken! 17th of January i was charged my swim monthly fee of £39.50 even though the pool was closed before Christmas for yet another reason and has been closed ever since! 6 months wait, promised wont be long, absolute rubbish! I've sent proof that money was taken 17th January and still they are fighting it! I know I am NOT the first person you have done this to! The health suite staff are very nice, unfortunately the accounts department & people who tend to the social media accounts have the worse attitudes, very very rude and quite frankly shouldn't be allowed to have any contact with public! I hope the owner of Miskin Manor actually look into some of the messages the send! Appalling I am now in process of taking this further, absolute joke of a company!

I’ve stayed in some poor places but this takes the biscuit. Turned up at 10pm and our room wasn’t ready as apparently you have to inform them that even though you booked a family room, they don’t set it up as a family room unless you ask. I’ve stayed in a lot of travel lodges and never heard of this ridiculous policy. The room was disgusting. Mould on the wall, the bin still had other peoples rubbish in it. The walls and skirting boards were filthy as was the bathroom. The toilet had urine stains on the outside of the bowl. I’ve never seen a travelodge of this poor standard. You should be ashamed.

On Saturday 28th , my son and I travelled to Cardiff for a trampoline competition, unfortunately the journey was horrendous as Ed Sheeran was playing Cardiff and the M4 was blocked. We needed to be near the indoor arena where the competition was being held as we had an early start on Sunday so I paid the exorbitant sum of £219 for a very basic room, for the convenience. This room I can get for around £90 on June 10th At 4.30pm, to receive a call whilst driving, to be told that I was being moved 9.8 miles away from Cardiff M4 hotel, as my room was not available was not acceptable. The receptionist even had to text me the postcode on her own phone as I couldn't write it down whilst driving. Clearly Travelodge was maximising on the fact that Ed Sheeran was playing in Cardiff, but how can the company justify a £131 hike? I could not speak to anyone but the receptionist and the complaints form is very well hidden in their website. I did eventually find it and wrote in twice. It has taken them 10 days to acknowledge my complaint and then they have said that there is a condition in the small print that says that this can be done. It seem very suspicious that my room had to have essential maintenance on it, on one of the busiest days of the year in Cardiff. The company is in my opinion, shocking, they clearly had double booked me and were maximising on this. I would not like this to happen to anyone else.

We booked a week here just before the Jubilee and wished we'd read all the terrible reviews first. The receptionist was surprised we had booked a week obviously because she knew how bad the hotel was. She had to show us to our room because it sounded like a trek to get there and it was! It's a good job none of us had any disabilities with the number of stairs we had to climb then she led us out the back of the hotel up some rickety wooden stairs around a corner into a separate building. On our first impression it looked clean and was spacious. I then went into the bathroom to find urine sprinkled on the toilet seat and a dirty bath mat hung up so had to clean up. We weren't able to lock our door from the inside so it would be constantly banging if you left the window open. There was no kettle in our room so we had to buy one from a nearby Asda. There was no full length mirror in the room but a tiny one in the bathroom. We got regular towels everyday but I noticed one looked like it hadn't been washed. The mattress was very uncomfortable to sleep on and gave us sore kidneys after a night's usage. The parking outside the front was on a steep hill and you were very lucky to get a parking space. We had to park on the pavement in front of the hotel to find a parking ticket on our wiper the next morning. The hotel didn't warn us about this because we told them we were struggling to get a space. The rooms were very noisy when people were staying in the room above us as you could here every movement. On the last few days before going home I was in the bathroom and could smell very strong cannabis. Later that evening the people above us decided to have a party, invited their friends, had loud music, were drinking and smoking weed. It was midnight and my husband complained and the guy on reception came over and knocked on their door and told them to keep the noise down then went back to have a smoke outside the hotel. We decided to leave at 1am in the morning because they were continuing to make lots of noise and we knew we wouldn't get any sleep for a long journey home. We would never stay in this hotel again - it makes Faulty Towers look good!

This was my first visit and I have to say it was a lovely stay with great food and happy and helpful staff. The room was nice with a big bathroom and it was nice and quiet through the night due to the country location.
