“Matices Hotel de Barricas”, is a unique concept that combines the alchemy of tequila and human senses; more than a place to sleep, it’s a place to feel. There’s no other hotel within a tequila distillery where you can sleep in a barrel shape room, our essence is inspired on tequila spirit and our biggest commitment is to make you reach an unforgettable time.
Hello everyone ! This is a personnel opinion after staying at the hotel for 5 days. I very highly do not recommend staying at this place for more than a day if that. It’s highly overpriced and you don’t get what you pay for. Yes, the barrel rooms are lovely to look at and an experience, but that’s it. The photos on Instagram and on websites makes this place look unbelievable, it’s not that great in person. The hotel offers a tequila tasting and a tour of the site upon arrival. The tequila tasting wasn’t that great and the tour was ok. While checking in, we noticed that they had little “Jimador” figures in the background with Agaves. We asked if we could purchase one as a souvenir for our trip and we were told we would receive one at the end of our trip for free. (Long story short, check out time came and they said they had no more Jimadors available) Let’s start with the room amenities. We noticed our first day that the free wifi offered wasn't working and there wasn’t any tv connection. We brought this to to the reception staff and they simply said there was probably a connection error on their behalf for the internet and nothing was done. Aside from this issue, can we mention that the water for the showers did not warm up. As well as the connection issues, this was brought up to the reception staff, and they attempted to fix it for over an hour and the water temperature remained the same. They maintenance worker mentioned that they would come back in an hour to check up on the water and they never checked up on us again. The water temperature did not change for our 5 day trip. It was terrible ! Upon arrival you’re also given vouchers for breakfast. The breakfast options we’re pretty tasty, but it’s quite a walk from the barrel area. Not to mention, while walking through the hotel site to the breakfast building you pass a site of ducks on a sidewalk that poop everywhere and on the water ponds they’ve built. It stinks and isn’t kept up at all! Overall, our experience wasn’t that great at the Mattices Hotel de Barricas. We would never stay there again. If you’d like the experience of the barrels and would like to take photos, just book to go eat at the restaurant and take your photos. There’s no need to do spend a night there. There’s absolutely nothing for the guests to enjoy or do!

A beautiful property, wonderful amenities, impeccable service. A bit awkward to get into, but worth the effort! We arrived late afternoon, and needed to park our vehicle inside the tequila distillery, adjacent to the hotel. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but, overall, a delightful experience. We were warmly welcomed at the front desk while our bags were taken up to our room. After check in, we were presented with a Spieglau crystal goblet which contained, I am told, a La Moula, the hotel’s signature cocktail. Tequila, ginger ale, mint and lime. Refreshing and delicious, it started our visit off on just the right note. Our room was well stocked with water, a couple of cokes, a couple of chocolate bars and some mixed nuts, both salted (for me) and unsalted (for my husband). All complimentary. The bathroom was efficiently organized, and featured l’occitane products. Always a treat. The bed linen was high quality, with a nice selection of pillows, and small but thoughtful touches included a flexible bedside reading light which you could redirect, depending on where you were in bed. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. We each tried dishes recommended by our waiter, and they were both delicious. My husband chose the steak while I tried the octopus. Beautifully presented, not over cooked, which we often find a problem. We aren’t bread people much anymore, but the bread they served, made on-site, was excellent, and included in its ingredients were malt and water from the pulque used in the tequila production. This was a superior property, and, having traveled extensively in Mexico for the last 25 years, I can say that this was one of our most enjoyable hotel stays anywhere. A fine experience, and a hotel to which we will most definitely return.

We stayed in this hotel for one night during a short trip to Tequila. The room was clean with AC and a decent shower and water was provided in the lobby. The bed was small for two people and the pillows and mattress were covered with a crinkly material which was a little annoying. Staff didn’t seem to speak any English so I’m not sure how we would have managed without our Spanish speaking relatives. The location is perfect, just a few blocks off the main square and the hotel has a very charming appearance. Would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location. We stayed from Monday to Tuesday and thought the noise would not be so bad because it was a workday and no weekend. Man were we ever wrong!!! The rooms are comfortable. We had the rooms going out to the plaza. Big mistake! There was a group of young people laughing and drinking and discussing and laughing some more. It went on all night long. Should have brought ear plugs or chosen a room at the back side. There was also a dog barking, he was probably in the back patio, so better to find another hotel

We don't understand what's all the fuss about this hotel. The best part is the patio with all the greenery, you could enjoy a drink or just sit and chat (in our case it was raining). The location is pretty good too, easy walking distance to downtown. But that's about it. Our room (1 queen bed) was very small and seemed outdated. TV didn't work and we were told it was because of the storm. The bathroom needs an overhaul, then there was a door to a small patio with the water heater and a broken pot, didn't get the point of that. You can open the window shades but there's no glass there and what is worse, no mosquito netting! The mattress was very old and uncomfortable, the pillows too hard and huge, very uncomfortable too.

Hotel Posada Terraza is located in Tequila Jalisco, it has wide rest areas, exclusive parking in the place, comfortable rooms with a beautiful view of the city, jacuzi with hydromassage; In addition your reservation has breakfast buffet included in the price, free wifi service, all our rooms have smart TV well as satellite television. The ideal hotel to spend a pleasant stay
The place has potential but there is a lot to do to make it pleasant. Room was not super clean but the most amazing thing is that we paid extra for an additional bed but we had to do it ! They just threw the sheets to us.

This hotel was on a narrow street, a short walking distance to the Center of Tequila. The room was clean and spacious with a sitting area, a sofa area and large bedroom with a king bed. The bed was on the firm side but not uncomfortable. The bathroom had a jet corner tub, shower, sink and toilet. All in good working condition. Free parking in a courtyard that also had a patio and pool area.

Parecía vecindad en la noche, ruido, peleas, desorden. Y recepción no decía nada.
