Encompassing two of the Netherlands’ three largest cities (Rotterdam and The Hague), Zuid-Holland (South Holland) is also home to important towns like Leiden, Gouda and Delft. And many lovely smaller towns dot the gorgeous green landscape. Alphen aan den Rijn has several interesting attractions, including Dutch history theme park Archeon. Picturesque Kinderdijk, birthplace of the legend of the Cat and the Cradle, also has many windmills that together are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We love hostels because of their communal feel and hotels because of their privacy. At CityHub, we combined the two: more than enough ways to mingle AND your very own, private cabin. We call those cabins Hubs.
An interesting place, one could almost envisage space travel to be like this: the rooms are really 2 opposite hubs with separate entrance doors on opposite sides. In effect your neighbours are sleeping below or above you, depending on their choice of hub. The staff are lovely, very helpful but also very young. This is a place for young, limber, tech savvy 20 to 30 somethings, not for the older, weary boned. That was my own fault, I chose the cheapest option without checking the place out. The facilities are OK, the nice thing is you can bring in whatever you want and consume it wherever, there is no restaurant and whatever bar there is is self service, if there is licenced staff that is, otherwise it stays shut, but there is a communal area where teas and coffees from the vending machines can be consumed. The toilet and washing facilities are not en-suite, which means they are all heavily used, especially during a weekend like the one just gone when it is very busy and the place is full. In that respect they are fairly clean but I expected multiple cleans a day due to usage, and that did not happen A big plus of course was the geographical location, at the beginning of De Witte de Wit straat in the centre of Rotterdam. Incredibly busy part of the city, and yet no problems with noise inside In summary, a nice place if you are looking for a bed only, in between pub visits, and are not too fussed about creature comforts

The rooms are perfect size, the decoration is bright and clean, as are the corridors. Professional service, a bar/restaurant and usage of the gym right next door. What more do yo want. We had a great weekend stay at Room Mate Bruno. It's the perfect hotel to discover the city, everything can be done by foot or you can rent a bike. The front office team was very always very kind and helpful. The gym has all the equipment that you need for a quick workout. The rooms are very well sound proofed, because even though we had our room next to the bar, we heard nothing and could enjoy a good night rest.

A really special hotel with amazing facilities. We stayed in a spa room and had a wonderful trip thanks to the brilliant in-room sauna and jacuzzi. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room was so clean and well thought out. Friendly staff throughout and the breakfast was of extremely high quality. Lovely harbour views too!

Hotel New York is located in the beautiful former headquarters of the Holland America Line, situated on the banks of the river Maas in Rotterdam in The Netherlands.A visit to Hotel New York is both a journey into the past and into the future. The nostalgic building symbolizes the departure of many emigrants with hope and tension of their new homeland. The agitated history is still touchable in the building: many pictures and suitcases of the emigrants, as well as the 6 former board rooms are keeping the history alive.Hotel New York has 72 exceptional hotel rooms, 7 unique halls and meeting rooms. The ground floor features a large café-restaurant, where 400 guests can enjoy an extensive or simple a-la-carte meal in any price category from early in the morning until late at night. High ceilings, colourful lights, sturdy nautical elements and robust tubes and pillars provide a maritime and industrial atmosphere, where everyone feels at home!
I'm afraid to say how much I like this Hotel, because it will increase the number of host and I may not find my room when I need it. Rooms are nice and confortable, Tv has various channels in many languages, which helps foreign visitors and also has a usable menu, that is not common in hotel TVs, which allows yoiu to set the Switch Off Timer...fantastic. The bar and restaurant is awsome. Must try HNY Gin Tonic

From June 2014 a new Ramada Hotel opened in Scheveningen. Only 200 metres from the boulevard and beach with the many restaurants and shops. Also the Circus Theatre, Holland Casino and Pathe cinema are 5 minutes walking. This new hotel has modern rooms with Wi-Fi, flatscreen, small fridge and parking garage, in the morning you can have breakfast buffet and in de the evening the restaurant is open for dinner.
We have just spent 2 nights with our 3 kids at the Ramada Scheveningen. From the moment we arrived we were so impressed. Duty Manager Alouette was a font of knowledge , so helpful, and pleasant! Her team were at all times willing to go above and beyond to make our stay as good as possible: looking up train times, recommending restaurants, things to do, booking a taxi. They made the difference! We had their family room for 5 (room 217) . It suited us perfectly: a big double bed, a lounge area, huge bathroom, and a bunkbed room for 3. In my opinion, more hotels should have rooms like this one! If you are planning to visit Scheveningen, or want to avoid Amsterdam on the weekend, this is the place to be. Lots of family friendly activities along the beach (Sea Life, Lego), restaurants and the beach. We loved it! Thanks to all at The Ramada!
