Stayed in the Hotel twice, Small room but just enough for a couple. Staff are good, Good internet service. Very close and walking distance to SM, restaurants. You can always use GRAB for food orders, weird shower room, you end up having a really wet floor, learned from our first stay, bought our own soap and shampoo. Has a very good airport shuttle.

Very affordable hotel rooms with good quality service. With 19 relaxing rooms with television, free wifi and hot and cold shower. The rooms are always clean and the staff are very accommodating.
The room is modern and very nice for the price paid. Staffs are very attentive, two thumbs up. Around 10 to 15 minutes going to the city center (if you don't have a car). The place is relaxing and quiet. Far from the city noise. Worth the price. :)

I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Green Leaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. Summary: This was BY FAR the worst hotel of the 4. I wouldn't stay here again unless all the other nearby hotels and condos blew up simultaneously. Customer Service: The people were very friendly and accommodating. However, they lost one of my shirts (and a pair of socks) in the laundry and did nothing to take fault, reimburse me, or even apologize. Shower: The shower was flat out HORRIBLE. On the first day there was no hot water (which they tried to fix). The second day, the hot water was sporadic and literally switched from hot to cold every few seconds. The third day, there was limited pressure. And it continued like this the entire time I was there. Food: The breakfast tastes OK, but very limited choices. Basically pre-prepared egg (no live egg station), a single type of soup, a single type of rice (plain), one meat dish (which alternated), one other dish (which alternated), small quantities of fruit, bread, cereal. View: This is the ONE area where the Microtel was very good. They had a decent view out into their parking lot, which they have decorated/landscaped very nicely. Cleanliness: The floor and bathroom were clean. However, the beddings are old and stained. Also, there were tiny little bugs that were making their way into the room from the window-side! Beds: I got a room with two large beds. But as I said above, the beddings are old and stained. Also, the mattresses are not very comfortable. Air Conditioning: The AC unit worked fine and has a remote control. However, it blows directly over the beds which makes it uncomfortable to use while trying to sleep. Other hotels are not arranged like this... Pool: The Microtel has no pool. Gym: The Microtel has no gym. Value: The cost for a room here was close to what it cost at the Avior, and the quality is SO much worse here. AVOID this hotel unless you are getting an amazing deal! Anything past $30 (1,500P) per night is a waste of money for this place. I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Greenleaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. First let me say we used this hotel for a Wedding Venue -- overall it was just an OK experience, Two BIG NEGATIVES -- 1) The food they serve is SMALL quantities. For example, the vegetable dish we ordered, they gave us literally TWO pieces of vegetable each -- a small broccoli and small cauliflower. Totally ridiculous! 2) The seat coverings and tablecloths for the reception were STAINED. This is not a professional look for such a high-priced venue. So I'm deducting a star for these. Summary: It definitely has some positives, and is practically tied with Avior for value. For this hotel, we ended up in an executive room. If you need/want a larger room go with Greenleaf, otherwise stick with Avior. Customer Service: The people were friendly, and brought us extra waters at no cost. Otherwise had limited interaction with anyone. Shower: The shower was very good. Strong pressure (though not as strong as Avior) and mostly consistent temperature. It also has some weird disco lighting on the rain-shower, if you like that sort of thing. The hair dryer was very cheap and cut out after a couple minutes and you'd have to let it cool down before running it again. Food: This is where the Greenleaf shines. They had a LOT of breakfast options -- too many to list. But pretty much anything you wanted you could find it here. Fruits, vegetables, meat, breads, desserts, pancakes, and an egg/omelet station. View: Even in the executive room (which has windows on two walls) the view was just OK. You could see the pool from one window, and buildings from the other. Cleanliness: The style of the room was very modern and fancy, but the flooring and shower were not super clean (like at the Avior). Things were basically stained or scuffed up and feeling old and dated. Beds: The nicest bed we had. It was huge, clean, and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Air Conditioning: The AC came through vents (rather than an AC unit) so the temperature was consistent throughout the room. It was controlled via a panel on the wall (no remote). Pool: The pool was clean and decent sized but nothing special -- it had a kid-side and an adult-side (4 or 5 foot water). Gym: The workout room was surprisingly small for such a large hotel. It had only one weight-machine, one bench, some free-weights, and a few treadmills/ellipticals. Value: The hotel was quite a bit more expensive than Avior but was executive (large size room with double-window view). I'd really call this a tie with Avior, so if you need a bigger room, spend a little more money and go with Greenleaf. Otherwise stick with Avior. RSG Microhotel is a haven place right at the heart of the city where malls are at a 5-min. walk away.It has 20 elegant rooms with very competitive facility.
If you want a place just for the night - RSG microhotel will do. It is very affordable and the room is adequate. No luxury here. A few parking spaces available for private vehicles and commuter vans. Big buses will not be able to park here. Can be booked online. I was not asked what I wanted for breakfast - something which I found rather strange. However, I believe I could have specified what I wanted for breakfast. Just do not know if there would be additional charges for it. The hotel would do better if they improved the road leading to the hotel and if they placed a more prominent sign along the road to inform visitors where to enter.

I have my reservations 2 months away for my bookings. It was an afternoon when i arrived they fetched me so late and i never mind that. When i arrived to their hotel, the area is nice and the facade is cool. But when i enter to their hotel their front desk assistants are not really good in communication Tho i’m speaking the most basic english. They’re doing something and they're laughing at the back!. Some, are sitting in the desk and it annoyed me so much!. They doesn’t look pleasant, tidyand disciplined and it looks like they don’t know what they're doing. They rattle all the time and its so not good. Its very irritating because a guest like me expects more to the hotel because it looks like everything is cool but they really disappoint me!. When i went to my room, well i just only saw a rat running in the corner and cockroaches having their parade from the other wall to the other wall. Its disgusting!. I don’t wanna be so dramatic but that was the most bad day of my life i experienced in a hotel not knowing that its a three star rating hotel. This is my feedback and this is true based on my experienced! Looking forward for upgrading your facilities because everything looks old. Make your employees more presentable and good looking without wearing a lot of piercings because its not good to see a front liners looking like that.

This place use to be a good budget stay but now with the owners handing it down to their daughter and son in-law not so good it started with the pickup at the airport with the son in-law calling the driver and asking the driver in a not so nice way where he was, I could hear him on the phone, not nice to hear from management when our flight was about 30 minutes late and an accident nearly block the road holding us up. Beds are so uncomfortable, no top sheet first night air conditioner is so loud and so old, hard to sleep. It came with free breakfast first morning we had one sunny side up egg each with one small hot dog and a small rice the next morning we were told no we can,t have that free breakfast is only hot dog small rice and half an egg scrambled or replace hot dog for corned beef but they didn’t,t have corned beef the first four days anyway but the nice cook gave us an egg each but found out later management would charge her for the eggs. Water pressure is not great fridge worked well kept a beer cold There is a Save More supermarket about a five minute walk that’s about the only good thing about the area. Sorry but I won’t be back they use to have a lunch and dinner available there but new management stopped it.

"SunCity proves to be a class on its own. It is strategically located within the heart of the city, along National Highway. Providing convenience and quality service are the top priority of SunCity Suites. It also located within the SunCity Complex, an upscale commercial center that offers wide array of dining, entertainment and commercial establishments. Whether travelling for business or for pleasure, SunCity Suites is indeed the ideal hotel to spend your nights in while in the Tuna Capital of the Philippines"
Hotel is clean. Frontdesk and food service ok. Housekeeping service, fair. They don't smile! There times that it would take you forever to wait for your requests. Some restrooms can't accomodate big people. Their toilet bowl is so close to the sink. Some bidets are not working well. Wifi, mobile data, phone/network signals are very poor. This is not a proper place to stay on a business trip since communication here is so poor.

Me and my fiance stayed in this hotel for 2 days.we stayed on a matrimonial type of room since theres no other available room at that time we walk in and since we know that at that time was a peak season, so our first day just went fine but first bad impression we had is the aircon. The a/c was most likely in a fan level though its already full. We ask them if it is possible if they could transfer us into other room or maybe fix the a/c still no changes at all. Second some fixtures are broken such as the hair dryer you have to ask them for another hair dryer if really needed. Third they knew that the room was for two person then before check in they should have atleast check the room if the amenities are complete but sad to say we had to follow up again and again for the things lacking in the room such as towels and other amenities.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights cos of the convenient location and despite the kind treatment from the staff I must say that the room was claustrophobic and with no ventilation, the bathroom had very bad conditioning, only cold water, WiFi was not working most of the time and they forgot to tidy up my room for two days. On top of that since I directly booked upon my arrival they charged me a tariff above the price I found afterwards in several websites. I’ve visited more than 50 countries and thousand of hotels and I don’t usually write any negative comments but in this case I must say that I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying in Gensan.
