Land of Mermaids. Land of Orange and Lemon Groves. Land of Colors. This small city in Campania has earned a plethora of alluring names. Famed for its sea cliffs, the town's steep slopes look out over azure waters to Ischia, Capri and the Bay of Naples. The birthplace of Limoncello liqueur offers some good diving, great sea fishing, boat cruises and appetizing restaurants. Excellent hiking trails cross the peninsula. Rent a car or take a taxi if the steep streets look too intimidating.

An elegant and essential accommodation, refined and with all the comfort and welcoming of an exclusive retreat. Villa Oriana Relais is located in Sorrento, only 5 minutes by car from Tasso Square, the main square of the town and has a breathtaking view of the bay of Naples. The d'Esposito family, has managed this wonderful Relais with passion for years, welcomes the guests like friends.
This hotel should be 5 star - from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt special. We were greeted with fresh cakes (which the owner Maria and her sister make at 4am every morning) and fresh lemonade from the orchard. Our room was bright, clean, and had a stocked fridge, we felt at home away from home. In the mornings, we would be served fresh orange juice along with the cakes I mentioned earlier. Everything was so fresh and tasty and it felt like Mum's cooking (but better)! The terrace on the top had a beautiful view along with a jacuzzi. The villa was perfectly private, intimate and a lovely distance away from Sorrento - we didn't want to be right in the centre as we like things quiet. Next time I come back to Sorrento I'll be staying here. The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much to ask, and they were willing to help with absolutely anything you needed. This hotel made our trip. Thank you to all the staff!

The Aminta occupies a commanding position overlooking the Gulf of Naples with breathtaking views, just 3.5 Km from the centre of Sorrento to which it offers a courtesy bus service. Complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking.
Me and my partner stayed at the Aminta for 7 nights, we stayed in one of the rooms in the villa Aminta just a minutes walk away from the main hotel. We were blown away by how amazing the rooms are and the pictures just do not do it justice. The hotel offers some amazing things (close to the centre/complimentary bus up and down the hill to sorrento/ the food is wonderful/ staff are amazing at telling you about activities like boats, busses, where to go for things to do). All the staff are amazing and so lovely and the views from any part of the hotel are unlike anywhere else. By far the best place we have both ever stayed!

The Relais Sorrento met and utterly exceeded any expectations we had. Probably one of the best hotel/hospitality experiences we have ever had. Even prior to arriving they could not have done more to help us and make out trip perfect. Antonella and Guiseppe are super stars and we can't thank them enough. While you are a short drive out of town, the complimentary shuttles are very welcome. The hotel, facilities, settings and views are breathtaking. CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL ENOUGH. We will be back!

The Four-Star Superior hotel in the splendid city centre of Sorrento, located in a quiet, residential area, Grand Hotel de La Ville stands at walking distance from Piazza Tasso and the railway station. Its scenic and peaceful position is framed by the stunning view of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, the relaxed ambience with every type of comfort and the spectacular setting of the Bay of Naples, combined with the cordiality and professionalism of the staff, are among the main features that make a stay at the Grand Hotel De La Ville unique.
We just returned from a weeks stay at De La Ville, I am ready to go back! On check in we recieved a warm welcome, the rooms on the first floor were spacious and had a sea view. Good shower and AC. The roof top pool area is stunning with great views and a sun trap morning to night! On half board and firstly the service was amazing, the restaurant staff are wonderful and deserve a special mention, as does the chefs who create the wonderful food! Breakfast was a buffet, with lots of choice, fruit, cereal, hot options, eggs to order and to finish pastries! All washed down with amazing Italian coffees! I miss my 3 espressos! Dinner a 3 course menu, changed daily with a lovely wine list, recommend the Amalfi Rose! We loved the pasta, risotto and of course desserts!!! I cannot wait to go back!

Really nice hotel in a great location. Rooms have been refurbished over the last couple of years, very clean with comfortable beds. Overall cleanliness was high, with COVID controls still in place. As a Diamond member we had access into The Executive Lounge, a great space including outdoor seating and an infinity plunge pool. Wine was served from 12pm, with sandwiches / salad for lunch, then cakes at 3pm followed by an increased range of drinks with Pasta / Salad at 6pm. Well worth the upgrade. Parking was expensive, but to be expected in this location. Overall highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is amazing as was our room and balcony. We booked half board but arrived late on 1st day to have our dinner. On check in they allowed us have a lunch the following day to make up. Francesco greeted us in the restaurant each morning for breakfast and each evening for dinner. Francesco and his staff were super friendly and professional and always made time for a chat and to see how we were getting on. Thank you, Ronan and Carol from Dublin.

A prestigious 4 Star Superior Rating Hotel built on the lines of the typical Mediterranean architecture, positioned on the rocky mountain dominating the town of Sorrento and the enchanting Gulf of Naples. A striking and imposing hall, wonderfully designed into the rock cavern ambience, is connected with the fifth floor of the Hotel, thanks to two fast elevators. Guests will be welcomed by a selected and highly professional staff.
We booked a week’s stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimente as we planned several excursions to other places around the area, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, Positano, Capri, etc. We treated ourselves to their ‘Best Suite’ at a smudge under E1,000 a night and expected our accommodation and experience to reflect that sum. We were disappointed. Their website shows [still] pictures of our ‘Suite’ which were false and misleading. Firstly, our room was a single room and not a Suite. At best it was a Junior Suite. All or most dictionary definitions of an Hotel Suite read similarly. Wikipedia states “A suite in a hotel or other public accommodation, such as a cruise ship denotes, according to most dictionary definitions, connected rooms under one room number. Hotels may refer to suites as a class of accommodations with more space than a typical hotel room, but technically speaking there should be more than one room to constitute a true suite.” Our ‘Room’ had 2 large sliding windows, each with a sea view beyond a single balcony. The photos on the website had been cleverly edited. The first photo is the view through the left-hand window, according to their website. The second photo is the real view. We asked if there were any better Suites and our question was met with disdain by the Manager. His narcissism was offended that we should question the indefensible evidence. We needed a shower to recover from the journey. Our Room and Bathroom were recently renovated and looked good, but the water infrastructure had not been up-dated, thus the shower takes 15 minutes to run before it becomes hot and the trickle of water from the thoughtful Bidet, make it unusable. The Bathrobes supplied with our Room sported an embroidery reading ‘Manniello Hotels since 1878’. I can certainly confirm that the bathrobes were indeed at least 140 years old. Grey, with a million washes or more, they were as rough as sacking, threadbare, damaged and a disgrace. The shaving mirror in the bathroom was broken and thereby unusable. They could not even be bothered to unwrap the toilet rolls. We needed a coffee and our Room came with Tea & Coffee making facilities. No, not a Nespresso, a plastic kettle and 4 sachets of Nescafe. Being both Coffee drinkers, 4 x 3.4gr sachets did not go far and housekeeping explained we were limited to just 4 sachets a day. Coffee could be obtained from Room Service at a cost of E10 a cup! The King-size bed was good, but we were told not to expect daily clean sheets. The following day we ordered a single toasted ham and cheese sandwich which took 40 minutes to make and deliver and was totally unappetising as the photo depicts. At E15 for an inedible sandwich on a paper plate, it was an embarrassment. The management were then curious why we chose not to eat in the A La Carte Restaurant. I’m guessing you can imagine why. We arrived in a rental car and regardless of the ‘Room’ cost, we were charged £25 a day to park in the adjacent Car Park. Our Room was adjacent to a Lunchtime Snack Bar. Obviously cleaning the access to it is not a feature of the Hotel’s Management. I show 2 photos of detritus which remained for the entire 7 days of our stay. E1,000 a day quality? No way. 3* at best. I’m 74 and have travelled the world and stayed at many Hotels. In hot climes, it is customary for decent Hotels to provide complimentary water. Not with the Capodimonte in Sorrento. We experienced a mini heatwave with daily temperatures of 35/36C. Complimentary water in a E1,000 a day ‘Suite’? No, E9.50p if you want water. Final comment. This Hotel is upside down. Their ‘Best Suite’ is on the lowest floor, not the highest, so views are restricted, you will be awakened before 6 a.m. by the scraping of furniture and children stamping on the floor above. Your Room will be the last to be cleaned during the day and there is no turn-down service, even for E1,000 a night! I was curious about our balcony which adjoined the next door ‘room’. I have attached photos of it. They say it all, really. It demonstrates that this Hotel does not care about the customer experience despite the price! I distrust Hotels which deliberately mislead and over-charge. We will, of course, not return, and we will avoid any Manniello Hotel in future. Be aware that Manniello Hotels own other Hotels in Sorrento. The Grand Hotel Ambasciatori, the Grand Hotel Royal and the Grand Hotel de la Ville. Now our shameful experience at the Capodimonte may be due to the individual Manager, who really cannot be arsed about what a customer wants or expects, but I suspect any Hotel that seeks to deceive and rarely does a Manager of a chain Hotel control the website. No, despite the Capodimonte’s deplorable contempt for the truth and the Manager’s utter disregard for honest complaint, I smell an endemic and corrosive policy throughout this group of Hotels to overcharge with contempt. Sorrento is hideously busy [actually, too busy for comfort] and I am convinced that this Group have a deliberate policy to mislead their offerings, contemptuous of the impact it has on customers as they need not care. Demand outstrips supply! They do not expect, nor need you to return, therefore their customer service is irrelevant. We will never return. You may heed and learn from our experience or not. You ought to, to avoid being bitterly disappointed. You have been warned, your choice. Disappointing, poor value, money-grabbing, abject service, you will regret not listening.
