Reviewed By laci256Stayed here for three nights for a weekend-long skiing trip. I have been coming to the Nassfeld ski area since I was a kid, thus I visited many hotels in the vicinity - including the other Falkensteinter property in Tröpolach (Carinzia) - and Sonnenalpe was probably the poorest out of all. Don't get me wrong, the location is more than great, with direct acces to the slopes. I would advise management to do something about the mud and ice around the entrance as it poses considerable safety issues when walking to and from the elevators. The size of the rooms and the amenities are also great, the design feels fresh and trendy, noise cancellation is excellent although we were sleeping relatively close to the bar area we didn't hear anything. The problems start with the SPA area, the swimming pool is really not warm enough. Although the entire wellness area was full of guests, there was not a single soul swimming outside (besides me), I mean that says it all. The sauna area is nice although the shower does not have warm water (at least we couldn't figure it out) so good luck taking a proper shower there. And for the used towels, it would be great to allocate a bag or something where guests can throw them, instead of stuffing them on the cabinet just at the entrance. And the biggest disappointment: F&B! The buffett-style dinner at this price and ADR levels already made me suspicious and unfortunately I was right. The quality isn't there unfortunately, the variety of choices is limited (especially the vegetables). Don't get me wrong its not bad its just average, which should be far from the Falkensteiner brand in my humble opinion. And the opening times, I mean come on, you say its all-inclusive but when I come down from the slopes and make a considerable effort to take of my skiing boots, stow them and walk to the restaurant - yes skiers know how much of a hassle this is - I see that all the food is gone by 13:20 and no one even blinks an eye at me in the restaurant. I understand that this is mostly for families and children but then make this optional. That would be fair. Dinner is served from 6-8:30, this needs no explanation, just short so if you ski the whole day - and also add a beer in one of the apres skis - the experience becomes more like a triathlon race where you battle with time to finish all the necessary stages. The bar was great though, Sunday evening there was live music which created a really special vibe, don't remember the name of the singer but kudos to him, proper lad, he increased my rating for this hotel for sure. In general staff was actually very very friendly, helpful and always ready to solve any kind of issues, its not their fault, its the management and ownership that is trying to milk us customers in this cheeky way. Just cut the price or increase service quality otherwise this will become a major issues in my humble opinion. I never wrote a TA review before, and I am solely doing this to offer some feedback from my side. We enjoyed our stay regardless of the negative aspects but probably won't be returning soon to this property.

Reviewed By RrcprodLet’s start with the Hotel by itself. Really amazing and modern looking exterior aswell as interior. It is not very big, so don’t expect crowds while having breakfast, lunch or dinner with your loved ones. Warm and welcoming staff made my day, while my stay. Handfull options for breakfast every morning made my diet easier to maintain. Rooms are large, clean and beautifull like the rest of the hotel, so you wont be having any problems with it! Also you will have breathtaking view of mountain peeks from your balcony every morning, while the sunrise. On the other hand, SPA rooms give you plenty of Sauna options, all the way from steam sauna to dry or maybe finnish sauna. Aswell as resting place after your shower, where you can serve yourself with some tea or just cold natural water and rest by the fireplace or read the book. Hotel is also right next to the ski path and skilifts so you won’t be exhausted both ways. To sum up really relaxing and beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend!

Reviewed By LeilaViennaComfortable, quiet bed & breakfast, beautifully situated in the Gail valley. Lovely walks all round, plus the Pressegger lake for swimming in summer time. The hosts make a range of schnapps and fruit liqueurs which you can taste and buy to take home! Highly recommended!

Short distances - in the house itself to ski / bike rental and ski school, to useful things like supermarket or gastronomy, but also to fun and relaxation. You can always keep an eye on the kids from the terrace while romping around in the snow or at the playground. The house is right by the ski lift, at the cradle of Nassfeld. 15 spacious apartments for 4 to 6 people each guarantee the good feeling of being in the right place at the right time. Das Haus liegt direkt am Skilift, an der Wiege des Nassfeldes. 15 geräumige Apartments für jeweils 4 bis 6 Personen garantieren das gute Gefühl, zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort zu sein.

Reviewed By Michael KEen kleine week verbleven en dat begon al goed; later aangekomen dan geplanned, werd prima op geanticipeerd door ons te bellen...en dan staat juist je geluid uit. No problem uiteindelijk; bij aankomst hing keurig een ontvangstbriefje met sleutel, de rest zou de volgende morgen wel komen. Ruim appartement, direct aan kabelbaan. 't Is uiteraard opgezet als wintersportoord en ja, dat is dus een hele klim naar boven met de auto, slinger-de-slinger maar dat weet je van te voren. Appartement is gelocaliseerd tussen nog meer hotels en appartementcomplexen. Daar zijn ook genoeg restaurants te vinden. Omgeving is schitterend, midden in de bergen en zo'n beetje op de grens met Italie. Supermarktje met verse broodjes letterlijk onder het appartement gelocaliseerd. Ook een pinautomaat daar gesitueerd. De gang en kamers zijn wel wat gehorig, da's de enige -maar- die we hebben eigenlijk. Al-met-al heel goed bevallen, ook dankzij een super omgeving met in het dal o.a. de Pressegger See voor zwem- en watersportactiviteiten. Gratis toegang ook nog eens met een "regiopas" die je bij het appartement kreeg. Zeker een aanrader!

Skiing 2016
Reviewed By Saguru77We stayed here during our skiing holiday in March 2016. The rooms are rather lower average for Austria but still in an acceptable condition. The owner, I think she is Brit, is very friendly and welcomes you personally at or shortly after your time of arrival. However, there were some downsides right away after our arrival: I wouldn't call this property clean. Although everywhere on floor were no signs of dust, cupboards and especially the bathroom were we even found a dead ant were covered with dust. This is not what I expect from rooms in Austria and is unacceptable. After we cleaned the room it was though a nice stay and I would recommend those rooms for large groups looking for some affordable properties near the ski slope (within 1-2 min walking distance from each room).

Reviewed By Ivo CWe spent there 6 days, came there for ski holidays. It is very easy to find, location is very conviniente especially if you travel wih kids. Nasfeldhause is situated literally 10mtrs from ski lifts , ski school, supermarket... It's a ski to door apart-hotel with heated ski storage that is very helpful during ski season. Apartment it self is ok, for us it was just a place to crush after all day spent on ski slopes. But all in all clean, tidy, kitchen well equipped... Just wort of mentioning that beds were little bit uncomfortable and noisy.

Reviewed By Maria Elena MOttimo residence che sorge in una splendida zona di montagna che offre una moltitudine di svaghi, in inverno km di piste sempre innevate ed in estate una moltitudine di sentieri adatti ad ogni difficoltà. Noi alloggiavamo nell'appartamento che confinava con la terrazza, molto comodo avendo un cagnolino.. Il locale era molto accogliente e dotato di tutti i comfort ed il rapporto qualità/prezzo sicuramente più che soddisfacente! Il residence non è lontano dal market e dai vari punti ristoro ed è gestito da un ragazzo giovane e molto disponibile.

Reviewed By LockieMcDGood location but owner is milking the revenue from the apartments which are dated. The layout of the apartments is odd and the kitchen basic. However if you are spending all day on the slopes and either eating out or cooking basic food it’s fine. The owner is unfriendly and the smell of cooking from his apartment is off putting.

Reviewed By doedelkegoed hotel met zeer goed etn en niet duur in de zomer heel rustig gelegen wordt veel gmeorganiseerd je bent dicht by liften waar je nog hoger en lager meekan sonnealpe is gelegen op 1500 meter hoogte en de natuur is prachtig
