Korskullens campsite is a centrally located camping area in the small picturesque town of Soderkoping. Gota Kanal and the mediaeval town are only a short stroll away.
Easy to find and close to the main part of town. Cabins were clean and location was quiet. We enjoyed breakfast up by the windmill. Reserved online through Booking and there were no problems on check in or check out.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and had the best experience, so we came back. The pool is great and not crowded, always a plus. However it is not staffed, and had no towels. I phoned front desk about getting food sent over, and nobody picked up. Went in and asked them about food and was redirected to the restaurant, where they looked at me like I had two heads. Food to the pool? What did front desk say about that? That was the response I got. The one gentleman made it seem like I was inconveniencing him and his staff in some way asking for food. I had to carry all the food back to the pool. I wanted a drink, but was too afraid to ask at this point... when we stayed a few years ago, the food and drinks were taken over to us at the pool. When we came back to the pool a couple hours after we left because we forgot something, our tray was still there. Nobody came to pick it up. When dinner rolled around, again the restaurant was extremely understaffed. There were no serviettes on the table, no salt and pepper. It took us an HOUR to get our main meal…. Then nobody came back to see how we were doing or if we wanted something else. when the main meal did come, it was extremely underwhelming and in no way filling. We ended up waiting another thirty minutes for dessert. The people beside us had been there for almost three hours. I would have left and eaten somewhere else, but it was part of our package. The waiter explained that they had forty people come in with a group, and I don’t blame him. I just saw him running around like a madman trying to calm all the customers down. Later on, I went and got a couple of drinks from the bar, and they used the cheaper version instead of the more expensive kind I saw sitting on display. These might seems inconsequential details, and I don’t want to seem like I’m expecting the sun and the moon when I stay at a hotel, but for a four star hotel that just had renovations done… I expected a LOT more. I would have probably spent a lot more money there if the service had been faster and better.

Arrived but needed to go to the restaurant to collect the key which is 2 kilometre away near the ruin. Only one other couple staying and no staffso feels strange. Coffee and tea available all the time. Wine and beer also available for a cost which you just fill in a form to let them know when they turn up to make breakfast. Worth a visit very good

Come and stay at Skeppsdockan!
The camping is situated close enough to the the town of Söderköping so you can easily walk there. The area is very nice with all the locks in the Göta Kanal. There was however one downside and that was that the neighbours were having a out of control techno party. It would have been nice if the staff would have informed us because they probably were aware of this and the amount of noise it would give.

Not only comfortable and calm but special and romantic. The main building is a real Castel with a lot of atmosphere and charm. The rooms are at nice buildings around , viewing green grass , forest , horses and lake. Breakfast is of high quality and dinner is special at reasonable price. Perfect for three days stay and spin around.

Mangelgarden hostel is located very central in the old cosy town Soderkoping. It's a short walk to the center of town and Gota kanal harbour. Cafe Korskullen, just beside Mangelgarde, serves breakfast during season. Reception for Mangelgarden is by the entrance to Korskullens Camping (the same area). Here it's possible to rent a bike. Maybe for a trip along Gota kanal?
