My husband and I were visiting family after 11 months of having restricted access to Quebec - la belle province. The room was spacious, clean, bright with a nice view of the outdoors. The hotel itself is close to the highway . They had a complementary breakfast with bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices, muffins. In the room there was a microwave -very handy. As well the room had a jacuzzi. It made for a relaxing stay. Lots of parking for hotel guests. In particular I would like to mention the gentleman at the front desk. His name is Danny and he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay at the Comfort Inn. He answered questions about the amenities at the hotel and its' grounds. He was very diligent in observing all Covid 19 protocols for himself as well as the guests staying at the hotel. I hope the Manager of this Comfort Inn knows what a valuable asset someone like Danny is to the business of operating a fine hotel. In addition, I would like to mention the lovely woman taking care of serving guests their breakfast. Her name is Valerie and she was extremely diligent as well about observing Covid 19 protocols. She took your order and brought the items to you as soon as possible. She was very busy but handled tasks competently and very pleasant.

In Front of the majestic Saint-Maurice River, Auberge Gouverneur Shawinigan has an urban design in the heart of the Mauricie region. We offer cozy rooms, a well-equipped sport center, an indoor swimming pool and a high-speed WI-FI network. All in a modern setting where you can relax or have a drink in good company at the Pacini restaurant. Let us pamper you. Our pool area will have a beauty treatment during April 2018 but will be back in splendor in May 2018
First, check in is slow and inefficient like some other poorly run local brands... The room was not ready on time and the hotel amenities are like a zoo without any sort of order or regulations making it such that they can't be enjoyed like one would expect especially paying a premium for an upgraded room. Will for sure not come back anytime soon...

This is one of the nicest small-town motels we've ever stayed in. The room was spacious - more like a suite with a couch and coffee table and a table and chairs. The bathroom had a small sink inside as well as a large sink and counter area outside - very convenient when there are a number of people using the space. We could unload our luggage through the exterior door but access the motel amenities through an interior door. The breakfast was much more than a continental breakfast at a chain hotel. There were make-your-own waffles, freshly boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit in addition to other continental items. They use real dishes and cutlery which is so nice and much less wasteful. People sit around "kitchen" tables and chairs which promote a homey feeling. Although we were in the minority of English-speaking people, we felt at home and cared for by staff who honestly tried to converse with us. The location is about 10 minutes from the gate to La Mauricie National Park so is an excellent choice for guests going to the park.

We have three bedrooms and one Suite of a room and a living room. There is a restaurant on the ground floor and a living space on the rooms' level, for the B&B guests. Rustic ambience: guaranteed getaway, far from the din of daily life in the nature’s heart! Activities in the area: boat and canoe, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, bicycle, motorcycle, hunting, fishing, seaplane, golf, historic sites, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowshoeing, etc. Culinary surprises: traditional Mediterranean and Balkan dishes. Come to discover the perfect match between traditions from here and elsewhere!
I stayed for two nights in the blue room, the only room left, with two single beds, when I booked. As I was travelling solo, this was perfect. Meggie & Venelin are very welcoming. The Inn is kept very clean, we enter through the back patio door and remove our shoes. The Inn is very quiet at night and the shared bathroom is spotless. The back garden is a haven with a hammock, picnic tables and parasols. The copious breakfast is delicious and the ambiance is very cozy as the guests from France, Italy and Montreal, get acquainted. Meggie knows Mauricie Park and surrounding area very well, which makes the visit even more rewarding. There is a little communal fridge on the second floor, for your perishables. Not to be missed is the authentic Balkan supper, home made by our hosts. Made with care and extremely delicious, thank you Meggie & Venelin..

Warm and kind hosts. Very accommodating and always at our service. The Arab room was an absolute pleasure to stay in. Amazing sunrise ? and sunsets ? views from this room. Though it was super cold outside, didn’t feel like it in the room and it was properly heated. Breakfast was amazing. Greatly recommend ⭐️

Gefallen · Just a 30min drive to Mauricie National Park and 10min to Shawinigan with restaurants, gas stations and supermarkets. Parking in front of the motel for free. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. Breakfast is included and was good for the price you pay. The best asset of the hotel are the owner and the staff who were very helpful and friendly. The mattress in our room should be changed because it was a little bit worn out but ok for the two nights we stayed.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient, quiet place to stay near La Mauricie National Park, look no further. If you want a posh resort with fluffy robes and designer decor, keep looking. We spent 2 nights in a condo so we could use the fridge, microwave, etc. while spending 3 days in the park. The condo was equipped with all the necessities (3 corkscrews in the drawer!). Our only complaints: the mattress was extremely firm and the pillows extremely thin, so we didn't sleep well (even after hiking and canoeing all day). Condos in the front have a view of the river, but some road noise - but there are no cars once it gets dark. Condos in the rear have a mountain view, and rooms in the rear look out at trees. Heating is radiant under-floor, which is efficient and comfortable, but it takes longer than usual for a room to heat up or cool down after you adjust the thermostat.

We picked this hotel as it is close to a local dive site at lac des Piles. The hotel has surely been recently renovated. The rooms are large and clean. There was no bathtub, but a large shower. You can park in front of your room for the level floor. They offer breakfast, but it is basic without eggs, etc. The staff is bilingual.

The quietest street, the cleanest home, the most meticulous and friendly host, passionate to please the guests and to present elaborate breakfasts, I quite enjoyed my stayed here. While I did not get a chance to use the pool, everything else was as advertised or better. Only recommendation is to call to host before checking in and organize a suitable time for checkout, as there are only 2 guest rooms and specific hours in and out. Not too far from the best restaurants that could be reached by foot, a car is recommended

Enjoy this beautiful stone home built in 1916 which has been recently fully renovated for your conveniences. Located 5 meters from the famous «Rocher de Grand-Mère», close to all amenities. Our delicious gourmet breakfast is served in our sunny dining room. A magnificent panoramic view of Rivière St-Maurice from our huge balcony. In each room : complete bathroom, air cond., insonorisation, T.V. with cable, D.V.D, internet HS, hair dryer, bathrobes, quality soap, shampoo and cream.
Amazing time in this great B&B. The couple owning the place are sweet and breakfast is tasty. If you need to stay in this town or towns around I suggest this location. Cannot regret it. The room was big and had its charm. The place has a parking spot which is very convenient.
