We have booked a room for 3 people and there were amenities set up for 2 people only in the room, it was some effort to communicate with the front desk to get things sorted. Other than that, it was nice experience, the onsen was good and the buffet offered great variety of food with good quality. It was a long journey (about 7-8 hours from Sapporo) to the hotel, but the magnificent view of drift ice on the sea really worth it.

Stayed for a night, and just a 30 second walk away from the station. Very good location for a snowy winter night. There is nothing much around the hotel but one seico mart (convenience store) and a few independent restaurants. There was a eatery-recommendation-around-the-area booklet put together by the hotel in the lobby and that helped alot. The hotel also has an open air onsen! Rooms were fairly spacious for Japan standards and staff were efficient and friendly.

We stayed at Kifu Club when we visited Shiretoko National Park, and were pretty glad that we chose it among the half-dozen of accommodation options in Utoro. The hotel staff couldn't be more helpful. They helped us with check-in, grabbed *all* of our bags to our room before we had a chance to say no, showed us around the facilities and offered introductions to different dishes at dinner and breakfast. The room was pretty much of what you'd expect in a Japanese ryokan - they convert the sitting area to the sleeping area while you are having dinner. The room spotlessly clean and felt very cozy. We did experience problem with the hot water (varying from scolding hot to freezing cold liberally), and the hotel seems to stop the heat at around 10pm and the room was very cold at night. There was an in-door public onsen and two outdoor private onsens. The open-air onsens are about 20m from the main building and the changing room was open-air as well, so make sure to put on the puffer coat and snow boots (all provided by the hotel) in the winter. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and had plenty of local or home-made dishes. Making tempura ourselves was a great experience. If not for the water temperature and the heating issue, this stay would have been perfect. Regardless, I will stay here again next time I visit Shiretoko.

The large hotel of guest room more than 200 built on the hill which can overlook the Sea of Okhotsk.Large communal bath "Rocha, morlet" largest in East Hokkaido that spread natural jade of 120t all over the floor wall , other a lobby lounge, child pool. The popular buffet restaurant“malskoi" contribute Japanese food, Western food, Chinese more than 80 articles. And Japanese restaurant "Hyoukai" where the space of only adult, a Japanese food course original dish are delicious. And sun set of Okhotsk to look at from a large communal bath even if I say anything is beautiful.
This is a typical ’boom & bust’ hotel, like the thousands of similar hotels you see all over Japan. It’s enormous, with lobbies, restaurands an common areas the size of airport hangars, huge rooms with separate tatami areas and massive onsens. All of which is in various stage of decay. This particular hotel is set back from the harbour, up on the hillside, presumably for tsunami reasons, which means you have to drive everywhere, to the boat tours in the harbour and the really nice little seafood shacks on the waterfront. The hotel offers, like all Japanese hotels, a myriad of ’settu’ options, all very confusing: breakfast, dinner and onsen package. Ditto with unlimited sake. Lunch and onsen and a spa treatment; don’t take any of these. The food is terrible by Japanese standards, and the gigantic restaurant is more like a East German Communist Party Headquarters canteen circa 1953 than a restaurant. You know whst I mean. Our room was huge, but with peeing wallpaper, slightly smelly damp wall-to-wall carpeting and (my pet hate) one of those pre-fab plastic bathrooms which has all the solidity of a bouncy castle. Our friends stayed at the Kitanokobushi Shiretoko Hotel, and I wish we had too. This is actually built this millennium and is right on the water. I highly recommend you stay there instead. As for me, I am thoroughly fed up with these depressing, smelly 1980’s concrete monsters.

My wife and adult son rented an apartment-like unit for three days. Quite spacious, with a kitchen, dining room and two large bedrooms, one tatami and the other with a king-sized bed. All we lacked was an ocean view. The staff was cordial and helpful and we felt welcomed. The hotel is stuck off in a corner of Utoro and was not so easy to find at first. Yet, Utoro is small and getting around was easy. Would I stay here again? You bet! In a snap! Great place.

The room is big and clean and its location is good (close to Utoro bus station). What it lacks is warmth. We reached the hotel at 2.30pm and the long hair jap lady at reception coldly said check in at 3pm. Told us to wait till 3pm. And there’s no smile on her face. Other hotels usually would be apologetic or allowed us to check in after they checked the room is ready. This one straight no no. After we waited 15min, the same lady came out and told us can check in. Dinner is on 2nd floor and buffet. Food is average. I only like the earl grey tea and that tea is not produced by the hotel. Ha!

When we arrived hotel staff asked whether our trip is a celebration for some occasion? When we told him is a graduation celebration, they gave us 4 glasses of complimentary wine. What a great surprise. They also have nice photo gallery displaying Hokkaido native animals photos around the lobby. We had a super pleasant stayed here.

Located 10 mins walk from JR Kiyosato-cho. There's no English signage to go to the hotel from JR station but there was a hotel signage in Kanji Japanese. Googlemap did help. I arrived there early at 8am because I took overnight bus from Sapporo to Shari Bus Terminal - then JR Shari to Kiyosato. The hotel receptionist did their best to allow me for early check-in after there's room available even with limited English. I was very sleepy and tired from a long journey so it was a relief when I able to check in at 11am. Room was spacious with very nice mountain view. Very beautiful surrounding. The staff were also attentive. Dinner was superb. Especially the sashimi and dessert. They able to accommodate my diet restriction (i don't eat meat or chicken). Breakfast was OK - self service Japanese meal. To get wifi in the room, you have to ask for wifi router from the receptionist - they will install it. I loved the onsen. Sauna bath was great. Overall, very satisfying stay.
