One of the worst experiences, no maintenance, average experience. I never had to stay in hotel during the day so it did not made much difference but otherwise average room, average experience and worst maintenance.

I and my friends had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Place Secaucus/Meadowlands. After a long flight from Brazil what we really wanted was a place to rest and recharge our batteries haha... What we found was... Great location, close to NYC, bus stop a few steps from the hotel, comfortable rooms, excellent service, a wonderful, generous and delicious breakfast, and beyond excellent hotel staff [hospitality, housekeeping, kitchen/restaurant...]. We stayed there for 12 nights, and from the very day one I, we, can definitely say that we can`t wait to be back there again. Our great experience at Hyatt Place Secaucus/Meadowlands was wonderful from the very beginning. The very friendly staff always had a smile on their faces. ALWAYS. They were polite, nice, professional, assertive, kind... And they do their best to make sure we have the best service throughout our stay. From front desk staff to housekeepers, I can definitely say that they are the best, simply the best, the real Dream Team. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude to TIANA, KRISHNA, LIZANDRA, LINN, the kitchen/restaurant staff and every single one who crossed my path at HPSM. Hyatt Place Secaucus/Meadowlands... Never a dull moment. Again, I can`t wait to stay with you guys again in the near future. I really hope the HPSM manager can read this review and pass my words of gratitude to the whole team, their Dream Team. And you, Mr/Ms Manager, you have a great team indeed. Kindest regards, Jussie Rodrigues, Jo Marsaro, Fabiola Gamboa [from Brazil]

This hotel is by far the worse I’ve ever stayed at. Toilets didn’t work, ants all over the room, staff was horrible, the availability of blankets, towels was non existent, maintenance didn’t show up until I literally checked out !! The worse hotel in the US. DO NOT RECOMMEND !

Let me begin by telling you that I could not even stay at this hotel. The moment I walked into the lobby, you could tell that the hotel was a bit dated and not well cared for, but that was fine and acceptable until....I walked into my room. The musty smell was unbearable. I could not stand it. I had to go down to the front desk and tell them. They moved me to another room. The smell in that room was better but still present. Having not been able to breathe very well in the room. I went across the street for Lunch. I had to get out for air. Contemplating what to do as I had to ha e a place to stay and I was dur in New York in two hours. Well..then I received a call from my friend, who was trying to rest on the bed. He told me that every time you moved the bef squeaked horribly. At this point, I knew there was no way I could spend the night. So I went to the front desk. The clerk at the front desk could not even find my paperwork from my check in, which by the way had all of my personal information on it. Who knows where that went. She contacted the manager while I sat in the lobby. The manager came out and told me that she would only refund one night as I was there for two hours. I mentioned that I was not even in the room, as I had to get out and went to lunch. I have to admit I should have just jumped to the conclusion that I could not stay at the very beginning and decided to check out. But as I was afraid of not getting a refund and not having a place to stay so I didn't. At any rate, the manager told me to contact Hotwire where I booked the hotel. This conversation is a whole other story and unpleasant experience that finally ended in me getting a refund from them and a new place to stay. This only occurred after three hours on the phone and missing my evening in New York which 8had to postpone until the next day. Let me just say, I advise you to never stay at this hotel. If a hotel is in business then they should take the time and money to invest in some upgrades. New sheets at least, as the ones we had were stained and were like sandpaper. How do you ever expect someone to stay in an improperly maintained building that had an oder of must for more than ten minutes. Do the public a favor and invest in some major improvements.

This property in my opinion was clean and check on and out was easy. Loved the location so much and the free parking and bus stop into NYC sold me!! So convenient! Would stay here again. Breakfast was also a plus! Lots of options and was included in the room rate.

It is an old Embassy Suite, not in a residential area. The staff claims the renovation is in progress. The room shows wear and age. They provide room service every 7 days. We stayed 5 nights, so there is no room service. Most of the front desk staffs are average, except one person who is rude, nasty, aggressive beyond imagination. It was morning of our second day of stay, I went out the hotel to look the surrounding area. When I came back, that person asked me if I am a guest. I took out the room key and showed to him. He stared at me, say “Do you have a problem?” I was in disbelief, and asked “What’s going on?” He stared at me again, and said “You have a problem?” He claimed that I flash the room key is disrespect to him, so he got into this attitude. I requested to know his name and speak to the manager. The other staff at front desk said his name is Justin Green. They said the manager won’t come until after 9 am. The manager will contact me. For the next 4 nights stay, nobody did contact me, not even a word. Seems the management does not care how their staff’s behavior. Even their staff insulting customer, that is not in their concern. I have to think twice to stay in this hotel in the future.

Great size rooms. Love the bathrooms. Hotel is quiet for the most part and good with noise complaints. I called and they found the room which was the noise was coming from and it went quiet quickly. Everyone was nice except the assistant manager. She’s rude and speaks to guests like they’re children. Makes a big deal out of small things that shouldn’t be brought up if you’re paying almost $90/night at that hotel. Anyways, besides that it’s a great location if you want something by the city and restaurants all around!

Free grab-and-go breakfast: Jumpstart your day with a free grab-and-go breakfast that includes a variety of breakfast bars and muffins, hot cereal, coffee, and tea.
Room was quite nice but bare of anything you’d associate with an extended stay. Kitchen ware, small appliances. Silverware, cups or an ice machine. Breakfast described as “grab and go” meant granola bars oatmeal and cocoa or coffee. The place is conveniently located and is a great launch point for excursions into NYC.

The rooms are comfortable studios, and the hotels is surrounded by lots of places to eat, mostly chain restaurants and a theater. The included breakfast is decent, with a number of options included 3 hot options keep warm in chafing dishes. They also have a small serviceable gym, and a very small pool. We booked the hotel because it was significantly less expensive than anything we could find anywhere in midtown, plus had free parking, but it is not convenient to go into New York from there because there is always a huge backup around the Lincoln Tunnel.

Aloft Secaucus Meadowlands is an exciting hotel located in the Mill Creek Mall Plaza Center, just across the river from Midtown Manhattan. It features sleek, urban-inspired rooms with free Wi-Fi, as well as an indoor pool and a 24-hour gourmet deli.
Do yourself a favor and book one of the other Harmon Meadow hotels. You know... the ones that have doors on the bathrooms and don't play extremely loud music at midnight in the lobby that you can hear the bass from in your 5th-floor room. It was clean enough, the location was nice with easy bus access to NYC. The staff were nice. But that's all I can say that is positive. The layout of the room is beyond bizarre. It isn't bad enough that they don't have a door on the part of the bathroom with a shower. They also strategically place a large immovable mirror so you can see it from the rest of the room. They also rented out the lobby for a graduation bar and the music was so loud we could hear it while in our room on the 5th floor. Late at night. I saw comments about this in other reviews and thought it can't be that bad. It is that bad. All that to say just book somewhere else.
