We only ate here and the meal was mixed. I ordered pasta and it was lovely. My husband had a pasta dish and a secondi and was disappointed with the main. His pasta was also great but the pork came with under cooked, cold potatoes and was just ok. We asked for a side salad but got some green vegetables on his pork plate instead. However desserts were then great, as was the wine. Overall a nice meal with a good view, but maybe stick to the pasta and desserts!

We arrived 10:30pm in Scanno to find the B&B we actually booked was closed for the night and not answering their phone! Needed somewhere to stay at zero notice and thankfully we stumbled across hotel Nilde which still had the lights on and welcomed us in. Most people don't speak English im Scanno but we had fun using Google translate where we couldn't guess each other's English/Italian! The only slight negative was breakfast as there were no healthy options. Very nice homemade cakes- but it would have been good to offset these with some fruit or porridge or eggs! Apparently this is typical Italian breakfast though and probably other hotels in the area would be the same.

Fabulous bed and breakfast in the centre of Scanno. The host, Matilde, is very kind and welcoming. She even showed me some good hiking routes for my stay. The breakfast is marvellous with local food available to eat. Warm bread buns and croissants. Ham and cheeses. Fresh orange and tea. The rooms and bed linen was very clean. I definitely hope to come back to il Palazzo. The value for money was excellent. Also really good Wi-Fi for this area. Grazie Mille

We stayed for 4 nights at this very helpful family-run agriturismo, a couple of miles up the valley from the lively and picturesque small town of Scanno. We were offered large quantities of good wholesome local food - perfect after a long day's walking along the many local routes. A very enjoyable stay - and a great opportunity to practice our Italian!

Great location, with clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. We met the hostess, Alessandra, her aunt, and daughter, all could speak English quite well, and pleasant to visit with. All facilities were top notch. The only dark cloud to this wonderful visit was the breakfast, after all, breakfast is the second “B” to a “B&B” . First let me preface this with, yes, I’m fully aware of the sparseness of the typical Italian breakfast. We were given three vouchers for a nearby coffee bar, not the one out the front door, but close. What we did not realize, since I did not take the time to translate was the option was for one item per person, which for me was one cup of coffee. Also, the lady was not friendly at the bar. The three of us each got a coffee, a small juice and a small pastry, but when we were leaving, the lady said we still owed 6.50, I mentioned the vouchers, and she said this was for one item only. I will say that Alessandra came quickly and smoothed things over, but as mentioned earlier, it’s a bed and breakfast, not a bed and cup of coffee. She’s a sharp business lady, and I’m sure this will corrected before our next visit.

Our campervan had broken down and at extremely short notice the owners of Dei Nonni's took us in and made us extremely welcome. Our room was a cool very comfortable place to come back to each evening and during rest times of the day. Very clean and comfortable. Shower and bathroom was fine with plenty of hot water. Due to our predicament we did not know how long we would need to stay and our hosts helped us with negotiation with the local garage and were flexible with allowing us to stay extra nights as we required. We left feeling like we had stayed with good friends. Thank you very much for all their help. A lovely memory for us.

We stayed here for 2 nights during June 2016 as part of a self drive "Tour" of centeral Italy. The hotels location adjacent to the lovley little lake is smashing. Both mornings we opened the curtains and were just mesmerised by the gorgeous view of the lake and the mountains. Granted it is a bit out of Scanno, but we drove in one day and hiked up the next (Nothing too strenuous to be honest). Itwas out of main season and there was plenty of parking in the town if you did drive up. The Hotel has lots of free parking as well. Its a very very pleasant 45 min stroll around the lake - really relaxing. Other reviewers have described the welcome asif it was your favourite uncle or whatever meeting you. With us it was that uncle you borrowed the lawnmower off and forgot to return it ages ago - kind of polite and efficient but little lese. Almost asif we had interupted a family get together in the lobby. There was a little oldish lady who was v v helpful but with very limited English but lovley. The room was fine - comfortable enough and the wifi worked brilliantly throughout. Breakfast was nice - usual continental breakfast layout but a reasonable choice of it and some v nice cakey things. Not sure what the bar / restauraunt was like of an evening - they never mentioned if / when it was due to open or if it did so we went elsewhere (We think it was open in the evening as another group were in there when we returned - but they may have been the Family who run the place ot sure). We will look back on our stay here with great affection - for the location and the views.

I came visit this place during busy time 18th August to eat something nice around the lake. The place is ok, the antipasti was genuine with local cheese and ham but the rest of the food it was mediocre and the service terribly slow
