Where should I start? First, 3 of us (my girlfriend, me and our dog) felt like home. Staff were really kind and helpful. Restaurant itself is really nice equipped, it has such a lovely family vibe. And food, just AMAZING! What to say, we went for one dinner, and ended up coming every single night while we were in Sauris region.

The Meuble Pà Krhaizar is an old stone house, knowledgably restored at the end of the eighties, perfumed by the old wood of the antiques used to furnish it. Its name derives from the difficult but real name of the family that once lived there. The rooms of the old house Pà Krhaizar retain the pleasure of traditional Sauris bedrooms, decorated in a simple and sober style, with antique beds used by our ancestors. Each room is equipped with a bathroom with shower, complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. The room on the second floor is equipped with a bathtub. From the rooms you can enjoy a view of the mountains and lake. By choice, the rooms are not equipped with a TV, to allow for a healthy relaxation away from magnetic and electric sources. Warm hospitality, tranquility, privacy and ... rich breakfasts with selected local products: sliced Wolf ham, jams from Domini, cheese from Carnian farms, bread and homemade desserts by Antonella and Fulvia. For a light dinner at the Krhaizar we propose a tasting of local products and warm food daily cooked, or you can dine at the nearby restaurant.
For anyone wanting to get away from it all and enjoy nature at its most peaceful, this is the place for you! Located in a small mountain village amongst rolling green hills and overlooking the sparkling blue lake, this place offered the perfect getaway. The house was charming in its rustic beauty and attention to detail, showing off the craftsmanship of the area with woodwork and lots of extra touches. Lovingly furnished, the room was very cosy with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. I appreciated the sentiment of not having a TV (note that we were told that it could be installed if we wished) but having games and a small library available. Our host Antonella was so friendly and welcoming that we felt right at home, and her breakfast was the best on our entire trip, containing many homemade foods. I think the peach and basil jam is the best I have ever eaten! Well worth a visit as the village offers something unique not found in any other places and is a great hiking area.

Imagine being in a mountain chalet surrounded by nature. The Riglarhaus Hotel and Restaurant is located in Sauris, at 1,200 metres altitude, set in the picturesque scenery of the Carnia Dolomites, one of the most suggestive mountain areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia. In the winter in the cosy dining room with its characteristic open hearth, and in the summer outside on the terrace, you can enjoy meals prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked in traditional style to preserve all the real flavours of the mountains. Our restaurant has always used genuine local ingredients. We purchase all our ingredients from local farmers so that we can offer the finest quality fresh food every single day. Ham, mushrooms and fresh herbs are used to flavour pasta dishes such as gnocchi, risotto and soups, while our entrées feature such specialties as dunkatle, ricotta cream with polenta, frico and cjarsons.
Very special place family owned. Nice kitchen with local products. Very cosy place outside or inside. Starting point to discover the whole Sauris area. We had beautifull weather and we made a great tour with cabrio. Speck and prosciuro perfect. We are comming back!

An amazing place ... the amenities (very comfortable, efficient and clean), the staff, and the adjacent restaurant were spectacular. They treated us great! Shout out to the owners of the bar/restaurant--they not only welcomed us into their bar but into their community as well. Great hiking, beautiful views and an awesome spa topped off the weekend. This mountain village is one that should not be missed.

I spent two nights for business in this cosy hotel in Sauris di Sotto, Italy. Perfect hospitality, clean and centrally located. My room in the upper floor had a great panoramic view! Luca the owner is very proud of the destination and gave me some tips about what to do during my stay. Breakfast was a nice suprise: the smell of cakes and croissants was breathtaking. I recommend this confortable hotel

Located between Sauris di Sotto and Sopra, lovely mountain house with amazing view and open terrace. Family owned business, lovely, kind and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast with various choices (continental, local pastry’s, cereals...). I liked the old furniture it gave a really nice vibe to the room, and most important the bed was perfect not to soft, not to firm; i slept like a baby. Important thing to note ; they are not just dog friendly they adore dog’s we really had a really great time there.

1400 meters high there is a chalet with views of the valley Lumiei, it is an ancient house of 1800, located in a pristine corner of real mountain. Seven bedrooms with bathrooms, lounge bar-restaurant-ski stube sauna-outdoor pool and sun deck outside, wi fi. It can be reached in summer by car via a paved road, in winter you can ski, walking or with snowmobiles because it is located in a ski slope.
Came here for a week end, Father and son, since my wife was at a conference. Everything was fantastic, in this cozy and warm chalet, located just on a sky slope. Genuinity and kindness of the owners, semplicity and cleanliness of the room. The restaurant was for the hotel’s guest only, and the food was good, along with a very nice choice of wines and spirits. We strongly recommend this place for a vacation in the nature, to relax either summer or winter.

Just coasting around the Dolomites and headed towards Sauris as I wanted to try the "famous" prosciutto. I was in no rush and the drive from Riva del Garda was lovely in parts. Eventually it was getting late, around 2000 and I arrived in Sauris di Sotto. With its seemingly manicured woodlands and surroundings and the lovely wooden houses I came across the Morgenleit. They had a room, the rate was very good and the staff friendly and personable. The room was large and clean with a balcony overlooking woods. Thankfully I'm not too large at the moment as the shower wasn't too spacious. There's parking right out the front and there's also outdoor seating for a sundowner. The restaurant, underneath was fine, as was the dinner. I got to sample the prosciutto! It was nice (I still prefer St Daniele). Breakfast was included. Continental, sufficient but not to American standards. There was WiFi but not sure if they charge as I didn't use it. Lovely little place. Must be gorgeous in winter. Be sure not to miss Lake Sauris, further south.
