Exceeded our expectations

Stayed on our walk of the Camino. Most of our accommodation has been fairly simple, so it was a pleasant surprise to enter the lovely lobby area. Room was nice, and whilst it opened onto the square from the first floor we had no noise to disturb us. Best of all was the dinner, simply amazing. I had the pork knuckle, which was so tasty and succulent. The white Rioja to accompany the meal was also very good. I hope to get the chance to stay at another Parador.

Gorgeous building, comfortable stay

Reviewed By marcopolo1964

I was road tripping through Spain and staying in mostly budget places but decided to splurge here. And it was worth it. First of all, the prices out of season aren't that hgh. Second, this is a really nice hotel. I don't think it's in the top category of paradores but it had everything I'd want. It's kept the touches of the old convent building while having comfortable functional and nicely decorated rooms. I've seen some complaints that the rooms are small but mine was a palace compared to places I'd been staying. There are nice artworks on the walls of the corridors, and comfortable common areas downstairs. The breakfast was excellent, with an extensive array of fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, etc... The lady at the front desk was full of information about what was going on in the town, which is a very authentic small Spanish town. Note there is no dedicated parking lot, but it was easy to find places. And there's no restaurant - they send you to the other fancier parador in the center of town. I was in town during the very entertaining Christmas market, so I just ate street food for dinner which was a lot of fun.

Good valued Camino stop

Reviewed By Patrick S

I spent a night at Pension Miguel while walking the Camino de Santiago. The location is perfect, close to the restaurants, bars, the cathedral, and every other of Santo Domingo's points of interest. If you like peace and quiet, Pension Miguel is perfect for you. I got a good night's sleep and was ready to go in the morning. I was by myself, but was put in a triple room. There was plenty of space for me and my stuff. The owner, Maite, is very kind and showed me everything I needed to know on a map of the city when I checked in. A very good option, both in terms of price and location, if you are walking the Camino de Santiago.

It has everything a pilgrim needs, including coffee before dawn

Reviewed By 788riyab

General impressive stuff: This place is amazing, it offers coffee at all times of day, and you are not dependent on the presence of the staff to get it! You definitely are a winner among all the pilgrim places, in terms of that. The only thing - you have to make sure you insert the exact amount of change in the machine. They also had a fridge which could be used by everyone. The room: The room was good, though only one table, which ended up being used as a luggage bench. The bed was comfortable, there were hangers on the wall, which was good, having in mind the limited space, there were toiletries in the bathroom. Good value for money in general. The staff: The staff was friendly and helpful, and still friendly when i was a bit pissed off after struggling for 30 minutes to find the door of the reception. They gave me one of the best maps of a town I had ever seen - like large markings, and understandable, I was impressed with it. They also showed me what were the sights that were important to see, also explaining where the Santiago road was. Things to improve It is difficult to find the reception, there is no sigh pointing to it, also I do not see very well, and got really stressed out, to the amusement of the villagers sitting at the cafe in front. A bit noisy as most hostels, but people seem to calm down after 11 pm, after all, most of them were pilgrims. There was a draft from under the door, but I put a towel, and it worked out fine. Unmarked stairs, maybe put some tape on the first and the last stair, that would make a huge difference for the independence of the people with eye problems like me.

Great apartment for a group on Camino

Reviewed By Jim186605

We were a group of 6 walking the Camino in Sep/Oct 2017 and stayed here. It was perfect. Owner came to meet us with key on arrival (their English not great and my Spanish awful but we still managed a phone call?) Not modern but really quirky inside and close to the route. Full kitchen in apartment and a washing machine available downstairs. Had a fab wood burner which we used as weather was cold and wet that day. Town centre closes by. Totally recommend it.
