King Fisher Village

The small village of Tarrafal at the "Punta de Atum" is still a sleeping beauty. A mysterious hideaway situated directly on the sea - one of the most beautiful places in the middle of the Atlantic. The sea is always warm here, the weather mostly beautiful and the days are accompanied by a healthy, refreshing ocean breeze. The eco-boutique hotel "King Fisher Village" has 3 apartments, 4 studios and 21 double rooms - each with terrace or balcony and equipped with sun chairs to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Since May 2021, the King Fisher Village has been generating its own electricity through solar panels and there are plans to become even more sustainable in the future. Located directly by the sea, the King Fisher Restaurant spoils you with local culinary delights. Here you enjoy the extensive regional breakfast. In addition to the "à la carte" offer at lunchtime, we serve a high-quality 3-course menu every evening. The local crew presents a local and modern cuisine, with selected seasonal products from the region and our own gardens. The seawater infinity pool invites you to sunbathe and linger. We serve our homemade hibiscus caipirinha right up to the sun lounger and the quickest way to cool off is to jump straight into our King Fisher Bay. Snorkelling, diving, hiking or even biking are wonderful ways to switch off and enjoy the unspoilt nature.

King Fisher village is a beautiful, well managed hotel with a stunning view. You don't even need to leave the room / balcony to enjoy the sound of the waves, the dolphins playing in the sea and the sun on your skin. And there's the food....as a vegan it's not easy to find a Hotel (in the middle of nowhere and also everywhere else) with good vegan food. Flavio did a great job and I was amazed every day about the magic the kitchen crew performed. I have travelled a lot but this was the best food I've had in a Hotel so far. Fresh, made with love and yummy. We have loved everything about this Holiday and I would definetly go back!!! Thanks to the amazing staff, we felt like home away from home.

Very disappointing for a hotel rated as one of the best in Praia

Reviewed By georgew875

The reception area was smart but the room less so. For a start the room was located under a spreading tree hosting huge numbers of sparrows. The small sitting out area with two chairs and a table was covered in bird droppings so was unusable being both unsightly and unhygienic. The swimming pool was out of repair so not available. The shower fitting was broken and leaked. We reported this and there was some improvement but one of the fittings still did not work. The wash basin plug would not close so it was not possible to fill the basin. The water was not very hot at most times and not hot at all in the morning.

Business hotel close to restaurants and a mall.

This is a good hotel close to a beach and a number of restaurants and a mall. The room was comfortable, large, clean and with a great view. Breakfast was good and the hotel staff was professional and friendly. Suggestion for improvement: It would be good to have more towels in the room.

Great staff, good location

Downtown Praia is noisy and has its share of fishy characters floating around but this is probably the only location in Praia where one can get real feeling of the town. We stayed in other parts of town where the wealthy reside but from now on we will stay here. The staff are superb. Friendly, accommodating, efficient, and hard working. Great restaurant, great breakfast, and we had excellent dinner too. We stayed in their apartment building. Although the room was big and beautiful, it was extremely noisy at night. WiFi barely worked, and there was no hot water. However, since we know Praia and it's hotel situation a bit too well, we are staying here from now on.

B+B Villa Alegria is a dutch run B+B and fitted to western european standards. Nothing but topclass, great breakfast, great hosts willing to answer and help with any question you may have. The minibar is filled everyday - free of charge. Staff very friendly. There is a lovely outdoor seating area in the front, all with good Wifi connectivity. The B+B is only a 5min stroll away to beaches (great for swimming and snorkeling) and restaurants serving fresh fish and more... The B+B can also organize a local tourguide to walk in the mountains of the Serre Malagueta. Highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxed, well pampered stay in Tarrafal.

We got a room in Pensao Asa Branca out of emergency and it as been a relief to be welcomed so well! The room is big with a private terrace, the common bathroom is cleaned several times during the day. Along the walls there are different inspiring poems and lovely decorative frames. The hosts and owners are wonderful, super kind and honest, we had troubles to understand the money change and they explained to us and charge the real price. It was very nice from them and we really appreciated also the help they gave us to find transfer to the next town. Restaurant for both breakfast and meals is highly recommended. Unfortunately the neighborhood can be a bit unsafe but all the locals that came into the bar and restaurant are super friendly!

Hotel was amazing in ways, lovely pools and staff.. let down by the maids who only put 1 clean towel in your room each day if your lucky. The amount of times we had to wait a hour for just a towel, became a joke. Food was a let down. For English eaters there was only plain pasta and basically salad and bread. We got a bit sad by this, and there isn’t a shop that sells your essentials so make sure you bring everything. And the hotel broke my suitcase on delivery to our room. But w shave had fun, the beach is nice at late afternoon, they have a sax player or a dj on, while you watch the sun set. I don’t think I will return to this hotel, but it’s defo worth staying in.. just a few things need changing here and there. The town is scary at first, but then it’s fine, not many places to eat, but if you find the right ones, delicious
