With this unique setting, personal charm, character, and friendly but attentive personnel, Rutland Hall Hotel is the perfect venue whatever your occasion may be. Extensive spa and leisure facilities makes it a haven in which to retreat, relax and unwind. With its breathtaking views of the natural splendours of Rutland Water where better to hold your wedding reception, corporate event, or a romantic getaway for two?Set in conservation parkland on the slopes overlooking Rutland Water, Rutland Hall Hotel is one of the most unusual and comprehensive hotel complexes in the United Kingdom. This makes it an ideal location for corporate business, conference and leisure pastimes. With a rich and varied range of things to do on and off site there is, we believe, no better position in which to be located in this country. We are part of a Resort so it is very spread out and there is a certain of walking required since the hotel is made of separate buildings for check in, food & drink as well as accommodation.
Location was beautiful and food amazing in the beautiful restaurant £114 for 3 courses and wine for 2 people .We stayed in a lake view room £260 b&b, the room was standard size and the ‘balcony’ on the 4th floor was a chest high brick wall so you had to stand to see the view, bathroom was small and they had forgotten to switch on the shower which we didn’t realise until after we’d had a pathetic dribble of a shower then found the socket to switch it on, the socket wasn’t labelled. We used the pool and I rang to see if we needed to take towels and money for the lockers they said towels were provided and no you didn’t need money. On arrival at a side door held open by a bit of cloth you walk straight into poolside then take your shoes off , the towels felt 10 years old and you do need money for the lockers. On going to the restaurant in the evening it was raining heavily and the guttering over the restaurant entrance was leaking heavily. Due to the Hall being renovated there were lots of signs redirecting you around the site. On arrival I gave my name , there were 3 staff on reception one of whom was booking in another guest ,the other 2 just sat there while we waited to be booked in.

Rutland Water, a centre for wildlife habitat and leisure activities, is a particular feature. Outdoor activities and historic attractions are all within reach of the hotel, including hiking, biking trails, fishing & water sports. The hotel offers free limited parking.
Visited Sunday 5th June - service was great - we ordered Beef & Chicken roasts and they were huge! But very good. Desserts were Custard Tart & Rhubarb & Banoffi Pie were delicious- would recommend but make sure you are hungry!! Great to see a Spanish White Rioja on a wine list too - it’s too rare and this one was particularly good.

We stayed there for one night over the Jubilee weekend. External and internal decoration are bright and clean. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food is definitely a cut above the usual pub menus, both in content and presentation, without being pretentious. Highly recommended as a place to eat. Lovely breakfast with fresh flowers on the table, and home-made jam.

We got married at Barnsdale Lodge last week and for someone who likes to plan and control everything...to leave a lot of the day in the hands of other people was quite worrying for me. I need not have been worrying! The team were absolutely fabulous and the day ran seamlessly. We couldn't have asked for better, it just went perfectly and the team were so attentive, hardworking and accommodating to make our day just how we wanted it. Special shout to Connie, Warren and Rosie just to name a few people who really stood out to us and were just wonderful. Our guests had an amazing time and also commented on how brilliant the staff were, the venue itself is beautiful and the grounds outside were perfect for the kids. Some rooms could do with a little update but they were clean and comfy...Once you went to bed at 1am that's all that matters! Breakfast was great too! Thanks again to you all xx

We had a large spacious and clean room for two nights. Very quiet the first night but the second night there was a very loud talker next door unfortunately. I think he spent his evening on the phone! The room wasn't serviced and another guest said you had to ask for it to be done because of Covid. I missed that bit, perhaps we should have been asked if we wanted it serviced? Chris was a card. Got me with his ketchup haha. Breakfast was delicious. The pub is lovely, well kept and cosy in a pretty setting. They don't do food on a Monday so we had to go to the next village pub. Would happily stay again.

This beautiful 16th–century coaching inn is situated in the centre of the historical market town of Uppingham, just four miles from the shores of Rutland Water in the heart of the natural splendours of Rutland. The hotel has a superb traditional terrace restaurant, a comfortable brasserie lounge, and a cosy bar offering traditional ales. With its unique market town location there is no better place to hold your wedding reception, corporate event, or just a relaxing weekend. Our management and staff look forward to giving you a very warm Falcon welcome.
We attended a wedding function at the Falcon and it was excellent. There were plenty of staff on hand serving canopies then waiting on tables and the food was delicious. There was room for a live band and dance floor too. Great service, great food; if you’re looking for a wedding reception venue this hotel has to be on your list

This 3-star hotel is situated in the picturesque county of Rutland, Leicestershire. Standing majestically next to the shores of Rutland Water, only 8 miles from the market town of Oakham, it offers easy access from the A1 and M1. This is the perfect venue for your leisure break, all your functions, meetings and events. The hotel is close to business centres and local attractions including the Great Hall of Oakham Castle, Rockingham Racetrack, Burghley House and more.
Arrived Sunday evening in time for dinner. Ordered pan fried cod as did my colleague from an otherwise 'Sunday Dinner' menu. The cod had clearly not seen a frying pan - was grey and the skin was not charred in any way. The roast potatoes were likely from a frozen selection or at worse rewarmed from lunchtime. The vegetables were poorly prepared - clearly the chef was not at his best that evening - the waiter was embarrassed and offered to discount the bill by the cost of a pint of lager only. Rooms were clean but tired and needing tic. The staff were friendly but unorganised. Such a shame for a hotel with a beautiful location

We have just returned from staying at redwings lodge in Rutland and had a great time. For the price we paid you could not fault this hotel. It was excellent value for money and close to uppingham, oakham and Rutland water. Would not expect breakfast at this price but the added bonus of breakfast was great- cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit, juices, tea/coffee. Room great- clean and tidy and had everything you need. Bathroom well equipped- shower a little tricky to get to right temperature but perfectly ok otherwise. It is a budget hotel so some things a little basic and looking a bit tired but all clean and well worth the price. Couldn’t fault the staff- they were lovely and friendly and happy to help with anything to improve your stay. Would definitely visit again - thank you Redwings for you hospitality and a lovely stay.
