The best steaks in the world , by staying in the most beautiful place on earth, Redes Parkland , Asturias, Spain.
This family owned hotel was a total nice surprise. It was totally in the middle of the National Park in incredible views. We were in a typical Caserio, house typical in this area, decorated to fit the style of was has been in that area for centuries. The food was awesome and the attention of the hosts superb.

Tino, the owner, is as kind and helpful as can be. He will do whatever he can to make your stay pleasant. The hotel is not fancy, but it is thoughtful in its details. A bright room , comfortable be, lots of outlets for your devices, good wi fi reception. An extra blanket in the closet for chilly nights. For a hotel of this type, simple and rural, it deserves five stars.

SEE, FEEL, BE Full of charming and unknown landscapes. Tierra del Agua is a garden of delights. Sin is found in our restaurant, where every bite is a taste explosion. A pleasure to the feelings, based on natural products from our own orchard. We have set the scenery in front of our apartments. 11 exclusive suites with an exquisite interior design and full of small details. A scape to the most adventurous, an approach to wild life or the best way to recharge one's batteries and recover personal balance in our spa.
Extremely disappointed with our stay: poor organization and services and very unprofessional staff. They gave us a room that was not the room that we agreed upon reservation. The room was claustrophobic, with almost no natural light nor views over the mountains. The place was not properly cleaned. Despite their mistake, the staff was not proactive in giving a solution and proved to be very unkind. No hot water in the mornings, no group activities as promised in the website, the list goes on and on. The surroundings are beautiful but this place is just not prepared to deliver a good service and does not give a fair representation of what the eco-tourism should be.

A traditionally village house renting rooms in the Redes National Park, one of the best preserved mountain areas in Spain,.a paradise for nature lovers, hiking, bird-watching, nature photography, hunting, fishingSeven double rooms all with a full bath and all the right details. There is a sitting room with fireplace, a roomy exterior covered gallery, garden… The proprietors, both biologists, know the area very well and will help you. English and French is spoken. Breakfast, traditional home-cooked dinner and snaks to take along can be served.
We stayed for 4 nights here and were very comfortable. In unusually hot weather, the hotel and its large garden were a welcome oasis. Paloma and Sergio are splendid hosts, generous with their knowledge of the area, and their personal touch made our stay even more memorable. This is a very well-run hotel, and worth making a special trip to stay here.

Way up in the village, signs directing you from the entrance till you get there - parking available 50-100 m along the street behind the building, and in the park, the terrace of the tavern offers amazing views. Friendly service and great food (and portions). We will be back.

Stayed here in Sept. 2015. Hotel was locked up and owner only arrived after being being located by local barman. This time we were a group of 8 and once again only greeted by an old dog. No sign of owner. Located her once again through publican and once again she apologised saying she was expecting us tomorrow. No change from the story in 2015. Rooms are comfortable, WiFi works, Breakfast was excellent and the views superb. Parking secure and plentiful

Place is charming, nice village in the natural park, though appts are not clean, lots of dust and kitchen utensils sticky. There is no wifi, so be ready you will be cut off. In the offer we suppose to get a bottle of champage, and the owner either forgot or didn't care, we didnt get any. If other appts in this house will be occupied, be ready for listening to children's crying at night and in the morning, as often families are visiting this place during weekends. The good thing is that even in winter there is warm and cosy.

My wife from Cuba, her cousin from Spain and I, an American, stayed at La Lastra in mid-May, 2011. The best way I can summarize our experience is that if felt like we were home. Gonzalo and Julia were the most gracious hosts one could ask for. They made us feel like we were a part of their family. As to the accomodations, my single word description would be, elegant. The rooms were decorated with personal taste that can only be atributed to pride of ownership that cannot be found in a chain of hotels. The accomodations were spotless. While the hotel gives one the feeling of going back in time in such a beautiful, historic structure, the facilities were up to the minute modern. Finally, there are no words to describe the gorgeous surrounding mountain and village scenery. It looks like something out of a storybook. The bottom line is that we would not even consider another hotel in mountains of Asturias. I could happily live there!
