Hotel Playa Westfalia is located on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. The location allows you easy access to a wide variety of attractions as well as historical sites. At the hotel, you will be greeted by a professional and courteous staff that speaks both Spanish and English. We have a full service open-air beachfront restaurant with both international and local cuisine as well as a full service bar. The pool, located near the restaurant, has a beautiful waterfall as well as a 6 person spa. While enjoying the pool area, you will also have a perfect view of the beach and ocean as well as dozens of palm trees all located just outside the pool and restaurant area.
The hotel is great! The staff is excellent! Great food and service! Pilina and her dog pals made our stay wonderful!!! If you stay, take Pilina to the beach at night to hunt for crabs!! Also, look for sloths in the trees at the hotel gardens! They are there! We saw 5!!

A beautiful place in the Caribbean, with one of the best sights of Puerto Limon. Located near downtown and near the main docks.Delicious typical and international food. An excellent place to come for business and pleasure too!
My husband and I recently visited Costa Rica for our first time. We wanted to see both coasts, so we first headed to Hotel Playa Bonita for two nights. Getting there from San Jose Airport was a bit of an adventure due to major road construction on highway 32 (Nov 2021). The hotel was easy to find. Don't get discouraged as you're driving through construction and past the shipping harbor. It's great once you arrive! Check-in at the hotel was a breeze. We had a great room! Third (top) floor with a window facing the beach. The room was clean and the AC worked great. The room reminded us of many of the properties we stay at when visiting Baja California, Mexico. We're from San Diego, CA and drive down to Baja quite frequently. The room has little quirks that are familiar to us and our style of travel, but may seem a bit "rough around the edges" for other travelers. Overall, the room was GREAT! Loved our stay! Would recommend to most friends and family. The hotel restaurant and bar have a great open view of Playa Bonita. We loved the breakfast that was included with our stay. We also ate dinner both nights at the hotel restaurant. We watched surfers while eating breakfast and enjoyed the sunset while eating dinner. There are rocks and tidepools just below the hotel. We spotted striped eels and red sea stars in the pools. To get to the beach you can either walk along the road for 5 minutes, or carefully walk on the rocks to get to the sandy beach. The water is warm and great for swimming. Keep an eye on your stuff, or just leave everything in your room at the hotel. The hotel doesn't have a store/market, but there's a large market at the beach just 0.2 miles from the hotel. The hotel has a pool, which we did not use, but saw people swimming in it during our stay. All-in-all: We loved our stay at Hotel Playa Bonita. We loved that there we hardly any Americans there (we may have been the only ones). Playa Bonita is a great hub for visiting Cahuita National Park where we saw monkeys, racoons, sloth and iguana.

This hotel has a rustic tropical look. The ocean views are INCREDIBLE, the painted artwork near the pool is really a great touch! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was sooo wonderful! We saw crabs calmly strolling along the rocks, tropical birds singing their songs above the property. It is truly breath taking! The food was delicioussssssssss and fresh! The staff cleaned our bathrooms and gave us fresh towels, as well as garbage bags. IMPORTANT NOTES: As soon as we arrived to our room, construction workers were still renovating and painting the building so they asked us permission to enter our room twice to finish painting. They were veryyy friendly but I didn't expect that lol. There was a lot of LOUD construction noises going on through out the daytime. The rooms need to be cleaned more often since they had a lot of dust on the shelves when we arrived. The staff was kind enough to lend us a broom. There were no landline telephones, no safes to keep valuables, no irons, no hair blow dryers. The bathroom showers definitely need renovation and in our kitchen there were no pots, pans, or utensils so we had to purchase our own. Also, there was a note on the bathroom wall that said we cannot flush toilet paper into the toilet.....with 2 parents and 2 kids that was intense! Aside from those important notes, I LOVED THE HOTEL.

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay at La Uvite hotel. The staff was great, Martin, Zika and another lady keep the hotel clean and helped an any way they could. Most of the time a nice cool breeze blew thru my room, which felt so good. Then there was a upper patio that I spent a lot of time, another place there was a nice breeze. Beaches very close, 350 c each way and to town. Bus stop just outside hotel so it made easy to get around, the buses when into the bus station in town to get you to other place in Limon or back to San Jose to go North, south, east or west. Great vacation. Thanks to staff at La Uvite hotel.

We had a pleasant stay, which is not easy for a family of 4 but they gave us a room that was sufficient to accommodate us all. The measures might be different than European standards but the staff was helpful and the service was good. The room and bath were always clean(ed) and after staying in various vacation houses in the country I appreciate the time, safety and comfort the people provided at the park hotel, especially during carnival week it is quite a hot spot for everything (live music, exploring, parade and the party night. One of the workers even cleaned dirty close for free and hung it back. I would even suggest eating in the hotel Restaurant than waiting for ever and paying for overpriced and overcooked food in the new modern italian restairant

Me and my friend stayed in Hotel Costa del Sol after visiting the Sloth Sanctuary just outside Limon. The hotel is close to the sea front and the town centre. There's a secure car park and 24/7 reception/security. Wifi works well across the hotel. The room we were given was quite small with just enough space for a double bed and a high narrow table. We've found it rather small for 2 people - if you're planning to stay in Limon for longer than just a night you might consider another hotel. Very cold shower, no aircon in the room - just a fan, no bathroom door either. Hotel doesn't provide breakfast, but there's a place just across the street where you can have some traditional food at very fair price.

Don't get fool by the photos and views. This was one of the worst places ever. Rooms were extremely unclean, everything was old and not working the way it supposed to. Bathroom and toilet were disgusting, we were not able to even used them. The bed was humid, the AC was not working and it was really dirty. Sheets were stained and smell funky and they were supposed to be clean. So why did we crashed in here? It was work and we got there really late so there was no other option. Not secure at all, the door at our room did not close. We call the front desk and nobody answered for almost an hour. We felt sleep waiting.

stayed in a quad room with 3 friends. It was like being in a boiling dark dungeon with no air. Yes there was 1 fan attached to the wall but no fresh air for it to push around. Dirty floors in room and some beds made up with bottom and top sheet some beds just one sheet, not even sure they were clean. Super noisy from traffic, people taking bikes from the rack outside room etc. very limited bathroom facilities for this size place. Toilets upstairs only for weeing as did not flush properly. Downstairs 3 toilet/showers which means if someone was just having a shower the toilet was occupied as in same room. Filthy and unhygenic as only cleaned once a day which for the amount of people using them was ridiculous. Garden had dog poo in it as used by the staff's pets which roam freely. Reception staff had little knowledge to help answer simple questions and very unhelpful as way too busy just chilling out. I have stayed in many hostels and this was by far one of my worst experiences. It's only saving grace is the location which is super central, but it really is NOT worth it. Especially as many other nice hostels around like Sel y Sucre around the corner which I stayed in before.
