Great place, wonderful staff. 3 floor pool with ocean view. Breakfast is included daily. 1 block to beach. Just a great little hotel. In center of town, close to Olympic market. You could actually cook in your room as a 2 burner stove is in each. They are very attentive to each guest. As an American, with limited spanish, they do have a desk person on daily who does, so she was helpful with navigating, taxis and other things. They do have a disco on 3rd floor at night. Its a very lively place. I needed to cut my 3 week stay short, so hopefully, they will take it well.

Most important & crazy part first: you don't have the autonomy to enter and exit your rooms, or the property, at your own will. The rooms are at the top of a staircase on a small hill across from the parking lot from hotel desk and restaurant area. There's sort of a dance club that separates the actual hotel from the rooms. As a security measure, To get in and out of that hill, there's a chain-link security door that's controlled by a two-way buzzer: you press the buzzer, then someone at the desk presses a button that unlocks the door. To leave your rooms and the hill area, you have to stick your hand through a hole in the fence (shown in the picuture) and use the buzzer the same way you came in. There's no key that opens this door, and you're dependent on someone being at the desk across the property to buzz it open. To be clear, you are very literally trapped in the pitch-black stairwell when no there's no attendant at the desk to electronically unlock the door from the rooms. In our case, we had an early flight and needed to reach our taxi at 4:30am. Since there was nobody at the desk at that time, we were trapped and yelling "¡hola! ¡ayuda por favor!" , while waving the flashlights on our phones for about 15 minutes until finaly someone alerted the front desk and they opened the door. It's very unnerving to be trapped in the dark with just the light of your cell phone, with your luggage, and no possible exit, while the clock to your flight is clocking down. But this wasn't even the worst part. Once we were released from the hill, we found that all exits in and out of the small property had been closed off by giant chain link gates, padlocked closed. We located the man at the front desk and asked that he let us leave the property. He was very reluctant, but then said he would go grab his keys and come to the front entrance to open the gate. At that point, the taxi that we ordered from our room had arrived, but he was on the other side of the chain link fence. We apologized for the wait, and told him that the attendant was on his way to let us out. A few minutes later, we saw the man approaching slowly with a set of keys. When he tried the lock however, it didn't work, so he went back into the darkness of the night to find the right key. We, along with the taxi driver, were all confused, angry, and frankly getting concerned at this point. About 5 minutes later he returns with a different set of keys, and lo, one of them opens the padlock and we quickly escape again. The word 'escape' is used very intentionally in this review. We had to first escape the rooms, and then escape the property. Fortunately, the taxi driver was understanding, and we all breathed a collective sigh of relief to be safely on our way. I understand that some hotels might not be open at all hours, but to lock its guests into the accommodation area and also within the property itself, doesn't seem safe, legal, or ethical. But it's got beach-front tables, so there's that. Caveat emptor.
