This B&B is what you would imagine when dreaming about travelling in Italy. Located right in wine and olive tree country, rollings green hills with far away villas and a superbe view of the town of Orvieto, which is an easy 15 minute drive. Breakfast was delicious, all made from scratch with a lovely selection of cakes and biscotti take on the terrace. Angela was a delight throughout, helping us with excellent advise on local diner spot and where to find the best parking when visiting Orvieto. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

First...the city, on top of the rock is very small, from the Duomo, to this hotel was only a 10 minute walk, rolling our suitcases and trying not to stop at every gelato, or the AMAZING jasmine everywhere, the hotel is quiet, away from the bars, there is 'some' traffic...there's only 1 road thru town and motorcycles love to gun it up the street outside, but its quiet after 10pm, the staff at Piccolomini is GREAT, Jude, (like the song) was welcoming and helpful with EVERYTHING, directions, reservations for a romantic restaurant for my wife's bday, a cab back to train station, etc etc...cant recommend more highly, good location, clean, GREAT GREAT staff!! Grazie Jude!

We spent less than 24 hours at this place, it was okay, bed uncomfortable, no amenities ie we were told due to Covid no breakfast in bed and breakfast. Interesting there were open tins of ? Chocolate powder not sure how that factors re Covid. Like I indicated it was a place to sleep nothing more. Quiet. It was hot no AC but a fan would help. Linens need upgrading. Overall I would look elsewhere

Arriving in Borgo San Faustino you feel the sensation of being in a place where tranquility and peace blend with nature. The houses of the 14th century, forming the village, have been beautifully restored recreating a warm and romantic atmosphere. Inside the estate of 300 hectares of woods and meadows and streams that form a small lake, there are herds of cattle and the famous Chianina Cinta Senese pigs, the farm with crops and orchards, gardens, deer and wild boar living in total freedom in the private reserve. The Borgo San Faustino is now a Relais. Its simplicity and its surroundings infuse warmth and harmony. Everything contributes to make the stay unique and unforgettable experience: rooms carefully refined, peaceful atmosphere is elegant and quiet.
A beautiful drive into the vine and olive-covered hills above Orvieto takes you to a charming hotel where one is pampered mercilessly. At first the room appeared a little basic but as we became used to it the spaciousness and comfort became apparent. The supporting service was always excellent and the the quality of food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The menu was the same for all four days, which was disappointing. I would definitely visit again but would explore local food options if staying for more than a few days.

Off the beaten track. A wonderful little town. Lovely hosts in a delightful building. Clean, simple, with a special touch. I'm really pleased I decided to stay here. I then took the beautiful side road to Rome, only an hour and a half away.

The Locanda Rosati is a typical stone country house located only a few kilometers from the magical city of Orvieto along the panoramic road to Lake Bolsena. Geographically, the house is ideally located for day trips to the historical cities of Lazio and parts of Tuscany, including the Val d'Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, where old traditions in culture, wine and food still reign.
This lovely working farm is close to Orvieto and it’s setting could not have been more lovely. So wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the hand prepped meals using fresh things from the garden! The staff is so warm and welcoming, really made us feel like part of the family! We’ll definitely return on our next visit! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!!!

Chosen because of the view and misleading photographs, the hotel itself was in pretty bad shape and overpriced.. Fixtures old, rooms tiny (with only two hangers in wardrobe) bathroom disgraceful and potentially dangerous. Carpet in corridor filthy. Breakfast disappointing and cheap, coffee and juices terrible. No laundry service even if we were staying for 5 nights. Very obviously run on a low budget and housekeeping non-existent (sometimes no soap, sometimes no bath mat, sometimes no toilet paper!)Hoping for a relaxing stay (5 nights !)the tearraces overlooking the lake were not at all equipped (no sunbeds or umbrellas) . We chose the "hill " view which was in fact, the view of kitchens and bins. Reception and bar areas suitably tarted up creating the misconception of a decent hotel however no information about local events (concerts , exhibitions). We regretted the choice given that there were other hotels at the same price in the area.
