Rooms are „functional“, with modern but very cold interiors , WiFi did not work in my room and the room key was hit or miss - also there was no coffee maker, no hot water and the promised „lake view“ was a parking lot view - the lake may have been in the very distance but check the foto for your own impression

Arrival is in front of hotel entrance with good parking facility. Reception is friendly and helpful. The building is Dating from 1884, is very charming in pink Colour, nice terrasses and balconies. We had a lakeside room with covered balcony, 2 chairs, small round table, 2 loungers. The room is fully equipped, writing desk, safe with key, Wi-Fi, TV. The view over the lake is spectacular, especially in early morning or evening. Quiet. Breakfast was very good and good selection. Mattress was too soft. What was strange, when we made reservation in february for September they charged the credit card immediately instead of taking it as a guarantee according to international hotel practice.

Beautiful, tranquil hotel on the lake. Would return as an ideal place to chill out and enjoy the views, the location and walks. Staff were very efficient and helpful. I visited in May and unfortunately it rained a lot but would recommend. Perhaps the whole area gets busy in the main summer months but a shoulder may/June and September visit would be great. I think I was just unlucky with drving rain for 3 days!

Right from the start we were welcomed by very friendly staff (reception especially), we were explained and personally shown the facilities. The overall premises were clean and spacious, as well as rooms and bathrooms. All in modern and comfortable furniture and everything just felt pleasant. The room offers a fridge, so you can chill your vine and enjoy it on a nice balcony. The breakfast were delicious with great variety options (and trust me, my friend is very picky at this), you could also enjoy outside in the beautiful garden. We’ve also tried the pizza in the evening and also other food looked delicious. Just make sure to reserve a table upfront, it is obviously popular spot for dinner. There was a nice private entry to the lake, just be aware that the sunbeds are located a little further away from the water, as the wooden entry is smaller and serves only to get comfortably in & out the water. The facility has also a spa, bathrobe is ready in your room. The centre is located about 15 min walk away, or you can borrow a bike to get there faster. During the pandemic I also appreciated the desinfections & gloves wearing at breakfast bufet. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

It is not central on the promenade and not posh like the "big-ones" but the owners make up for it in any way. For a little extra you can even get "rooms with a view" if you need. Starting at the reception from day one you get personal treatment with any info you might need, offer for transfer to/from the trainstation etc. Buffet breakfast has everything one expects and probably more if need be. Expect the quality stay you ever wanted from a small family run hotel.

This is one of those places, where I could feel simply good since the first moment until we left. The house is on the hill with very nice view. The garden is well kept, you can spend a time there on the sunbeds just relaxing and looking to the lake. We had very comfortable apartment- it was spacious, very clean, cozy and light. It had big balcony and perfectly equipped kitchen including kettle, microwave, fridge. You find there basic things as detergent, salt, pepper, sugar and the rest you can buy in Spar on the bottom of the hill. I went there every morning for the bread instead of excercise- it was very nice walk. However, if you want, you can have full breakfast for very good price in the pension or ask for bread delivery. The family which runs the pension is also big plus there. The lady on the reception as well as her daughter were naturally nice and friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The bed was maybe a bit softer but for me so good that I had the best sleep I could imagine. The house has also private beach and that is probably essential in the summer as I could not see any public beach on the shore. The house is perfect base for trips around and ladies on the reception will give you perfect tips and information. I can recommend the visit of lakes around as Millstatter see, Ossiacher see, or Weissensee. I can highly recommend also visit of Kranjska Gora, which is about 40 minutes from Pörtschach and it is spectacular.

It was a very nice and clean hotel. The best thing about it was it has a 'beach' to the lake Wortersee. As you get up you can directly go down the stairs and have a wake-up-swim and on the way back to your room you can have your breakfast since it takes place just on the lake side. A bit expensive but cheaper than the neighbouring hotels...

The lakeside holiday resort of Portschach in Austria is most delightful but very busy during the month of august and we had to try many hotels before getting accommodated at the Seehotel Porcia. The photo on the website taken from the lake makes the place look wonderful especially as the hotel has a beautiful lakeside terrace and landing dock. Originally a aristocrat's villa it is very imposing, however I had to liken it to the famous TC show the "MUNSTERS" house. It has no reception so the only access is a massive front door that is always locked. Inside is the furniture is antique and there is rather a haunted feel about the place. However, the rooms are stylist and comfortable. The highlight is the small garden terrace where meals are served and it is possible to jump into the lake and swim in the warm clean waters, directly from the terrace. The staff and food were very good. I would recommend this property provided you don't expect the normal!! I would consider it a little overpriced but to be fair it was high season. For tennis players there is a very good little tennis club opposite the hotel.

For sure it was clean and also the owners were more than friendly. Nevertheless, it has no wifi, the bathroom was older than old and the interior must be renewed - so outdated... everything. It's a shame because the ambience is really nice. //mg

We stayed at Leonstain on a road trip through Carinthia; we had wanted to stay at a proper Austrian schloss - we arrived during a thunderstorm, so unfortunately could not go to the beach, but the schloss lived more than up to expectations. Each room was different (great fun!), and the bathrooms were a little dated, but all in all, we loved it. There is a beautiful lounge / bar to hang out, with board games and books. Staff at reception was great, and breakfast in the courtyard lovely.
