The Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli is a 4 star only steps from the sea and from the beach of Portopaglietto. Portopaglietto is the beautiful beach of the city of Portoscuso. It has a small sandy shore characterised by crystalline sea and fine, amber-coloured sand and it is enclosed by two cliffs that shelter it on days with northwest wind. The Tower of Portoscuso stands prominently at the side of the small bay. The Lido degli Spagnoli is easy to reach with all forms of transport and it looks out onto the island of San Pietro, enjoying a strategic location in relation to the main resorts and most beautiful attractions of the south of Sardinia. The Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli is equipped with all the comforts that guests can expect in a 4 star hotel. It has a large and well-equipped conference room, an elegant swimming pool, a restaurant with sea view, a magnificent free beach very close by and a wellness centre with panoramic views.
I would highly recommend this hotel, it is set in a superb position close to the town of Portoscuso. The rooms are spacious and the view we had from ours was fantastic, they were also well appointed and exceptionally clean. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room on request . We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly throughout our stay especially the reception staff. The hotel pool is large and has an extensive garden around it, both the pool and garden are very well maintained. The pool area was very quiet during our stay despite the weather being excellent, at times (mainly in the morning) we had the whole pool to ourselves. There is a phone by the pool so that orders can be phoned into the hotel for drinks etc., the service for this was very efficient. There was only 1 hot food option at breakfast (scrambled egg and bacon) but there was a good selection of cakes and pastries to choose from which was regularly refreshed. There was also a good coffee machine but the cups were very small and meant a few visits were required, it also made it difficult to make a decent cup of tea. The only other thing that could have been improved was the selection of juices, those available were pineapple, blood orange (which was not very orange) and super juice (a mixture of fruit and vegetable juice), it would have been nice to have some ‘proper’ orange or apple juice available. The location of the hotel is ideal, it is a very short walk to the lovely beach which is backed by a couple of bars that are open during the day for food and drink. It is also a short and very pleasant walk (most of which can be done along the shoreline) into town for an evening meal. There have been negative comments made here about weddings taking place in the hotel and the noise that this creates late into the night, we were therefore somewhat concerned when on arrival there was a wedding celebration going on (as we had left home at 4am and were more than a little tired); however, when we returned from our evening meal at about 10pm we found that the celebrations were more or less over and we heard no noise from our room.

We have been in this hotel already 8 years ago. It looks like that not a lot has changed since then. The room towards the sea was big, but the bathroom definitely to small. The furniture is old fashioned. Renovation is needed. But the personal was helpful and the offered breakfast was good. It had typical italian sweets, but also meat and cheese for a continental breakfast.

Cruxitta B&B is wonderfully located, directly in the middle of the town centre and very close to the beach. It is a lovely typical Sardinian cottage, with a big garden, confortable and bright bedrooms and a fabulous view, a real delight for those who love having breakfast overlooking the sea.

We paid slightly more for a sea view room with a balcony and we were so pleased we did. We received a very warm welcome on arrival, the hotel is basic but very clean, tidy and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating. Due to the tranquil nature of the town we spent quite a bit of time sat on the balcony relaxing with a glass of wine so the fridge in the room was very welcome. The hotel is right on the harbour so is in walking distance from many cafe's bars and restaurants. There is also a cafe/bar within the hotel. The breakfast was very nice and well stocked, a combination of hot and cold food. My husband is a vegetarian and he was well catered for. We hired a car to travel around, whilst there isn't any parking directly at the hotel there was a carpark only a few meters away and we always found a space. I would recommend as somewhere to relax.
