Took a room with sea view. Given that behind is built up, worth the extra couple of euros. Large and comfortable with nice shower and seperate toilet. Views good. Friendly and efficent reception. Hotel spotlessly clean. Excellent red wine (Corbiers) served at the bar!! The breakfast are buffet style, plenty to eat, nice coffee and the tea was good. Dinners - this is the 1st time we have stayed in a Logis 3 Coccotte (19 of them to date) and not had an amuse bouche at the start of the meal!! Wine chice good, meal menus with choice of a la carte or fixed or special (eg Valentine meal) The food was fresh and well cooked. The steak sauce missed some flavour, it needed a bit more reduction of the jus (or something). The criée des posiions was a discovery. Nice selction of sea foods, but again it missed out on a sauce. It was served with parsley butter - nice, but a bit weak for the meal. That said, the meal was most enjoyable, just a couple of small points. Service was not top - the young man only noted half what I asked for as en entry (I asked for 3 huitres + 12 palourdes, just got palourdes). The lady who took our coffee order forgot about it - looked at us several minutes later and remembered.

Complex comprises maisonnettes and a hotel. Numerous facilities: pools, petanque, ping-pong, restaurant, tennis. Numerous activities for all the family.
I was extremely disappointed in this "hotel", which isn't really a hotel. It is a Summer camp with large parts of the complex being small "houses" around 2 large pools and 2 kids pools. The bit we stayed in was the "hotel" which was disappointing as we thought we would be getting one of the "houses". The rooms were EXTREMELY basic and were easily some of the worst I have ever stayed in. They were clean but basically they had a bed and toilet and that was it - they had poor ventilation, no air-con so were stiflingly hot. The cleaning staff removed our towels after the second day, so I had to "borrow" some from their cleaning trolley in the corridor. They want to charge you 7 euros for towels and bedding!! The "bar" in the complex was in the main entertainment complex, and it was pricey and busy, so getting served wasn't easy. I didn't venture to the entertainment complex as that isn't my thing, but from what I could see from the bar area, it was typical holiday camp fare with organised entertainment, and customers being "invited" to take part - aaargh. The pool area was typically French - a few dozen sunbeds to cater of a few hundred houses and rooms, with absolutely no cover from the sun - so if you wanted a sunbed get there pre-dawn and if you wanted shade, forget it. This "hotel" had a lot of yobbish young french lads trying to have a wild time, so at night it was a bit intimidating, and made you not want to be there, and due to the noise (and lack of room ventilation), sleeping was a problem. The main disappointing thing about this "hotel" is the advert pics and blurb make it look and sound like the town is in a nice setting - it is not - Port la Nouvelle is an extremely ugly town in an ugly setting with a huge concrete works and industrial port and complex surrounding it.

We are traveling by bicycle and it has been a very long day. We decide to take the first hotel on the waterfront even if it doesn't look so good from the outside. The reception is empty and we go and find someone at the bar, who is not really friendly. We get the key and look for the room by ourselves. I'm sorry the say that the interior is hardly better that the exterior. Probably decades ago it was better. At least is acceptably clean and the room is huge. But we can hardly see the sea: the window panes are opaque from not having seen a cleaner since eons. I cannot say about breakfast, because we preferred to have it somewhere else.

We stayed for three nights, and found this to bra lovely location. The owners are very helpful. The pool facility is sufficient especially with the nearby beaches. It has a snack bar serving pizzas in the evenings. And bread and croissants in the morning. For those pitching a tent be prepared as the ground is hard and a little stony (it bent one of my hard ground pegs). There is Super U not far away (turn left on main road and right at roundabout and then straight) I would stay there again.

A fuir !

The room was big for three adults and one child (almost 3 years), two singe-beds and one double-bed. It has all we need for one night. Also the staff gave us a glass of milk for the child, they were very friendly with us. The bathroom was OK. On the other hand, the rate quality/price is a bit expensive. The price does not include the breakfast, which was very good.
